Mash is locally owned by a mother /daughter tandem who have an acute sense of presenting hip, trendy and cheeky collectibles to the local population. A lot of the store is made up of baby and tiny human collectibles that help chronicle or help decorate for your little one’s first years. If you’re looking for something for an older human, the store has plenty of items for you as well… And if you’re looking for greeting cards then you’ve come to the right place. They do a fantastic job finding unique pieces to fit any occasion. I haven’t had any complaints yet. Just smiles and laughter. If you’re looking for a different and unique gift to give, there’s a good chance you’ll find it here. I can’t recommend this store enough.

What an adorable shop! The owner was very friendly, too. They have a variety of items — dishes, textiles, baby gifts, jewlery… The prices are fair — and you’re getting handmade treasures that are bound to be conversation pieces.

Though this place is small, it’s crammed with gifty items(such as things I’ve found at the Renegade Craft Fairs in Chicago). In one blow a friend and I accomplished a chunkof our holiday shopping.(Her coup de grace was coasters with misheard song lyrics on them.) I loved the array of fun greeting cards. The chatty lady at the counter was warm and friendly. It was definitely worth navigating a couple of detours(due to some gnarly road construction) to get in here! If you need gifts for the quirky folk on your list, make a mad dash to Mash!

Ugh, this place is basically if there were a Best of Etsy storefront. Everything in there is a perfect gift for someone I know. I can’t leave without buying something! There is a great array of art, jewelry, décor, and child-friendly pieces. The owner is really nice, too. We always end up talking for awhile about different crafts and projects – I always feel welcome here.

Somebody call a building inspector! MASH Handmade is WAY over their limit of Quirk-Per-Square-Foot! Somebody could get hurt! While I may not come here super often, MASH is one of my favorite stops for finding a unique gift for a friend. True to their name, everything seems to be handmade — though don’t get mad at ME if a random machine was used at some point in the process. So what can you find here? Greeting Cards, stuffed animals for kids, home décor and more. The aesthetic is more quirky/indie than Little House on the Prairie, of which the term«home-made» can remind me. And what’s more, price points are reasonable! The staff is friendly, knows the back-story of the merchandise and obviously has an eye for design. This should be a necessary stop for anybody’s quest for original, high quality gifts.

Absolutely adorable — refreshing to see a shop without cram packed shelves, rarely do I wish a store had more I could look at! Perfect place to buy a gift or support an artist, will definitely return.

Mash is such a great store! It’s a treasure trove of creative and cute stuff and the best part is they are constantly rotating the stock and always including the work of local crafters and artists. It’s the best place to find a gift for a lady. Their note cards are unique and their items range from jewelry to housewares to customized portraits. It’s a wonderful place to browse and get ideas for decorating your own place. I love how their storefront changes with the seasons and holidays and so much of what they have is truly hand made. Happy shopping!

Located on the coolest corner in KC, Mash is a perfect match for this area. I was going in anyway but I couldn’t open the door fast enough when I saw the antler wall hangings. I needed a greeting card but was blown away by the original kodachrome treasure I found. I thought I saw someone I knew but it was just the robot toy paintings by an artist that we have displayed in our home. I had only 30 minutes to spend in this fantastic store. Creations by some great KC artists that include cards, stationary, decorations, things for the home, this is one little store with a lot of personality. This is where you go to find something for someone very special. The prices are reasonable. Most of the art is under the $ 100 dollar mark. Get your qurik on and enjoy.

Wow, what a great store. I went there with a friend who was buying a card, and was just amazed at all the interesting and unique products. The cards they had were, well not the ones you will find at hallmark. They were pushing the boundries with the humor and language, so finding a card for you mother may be difficult, but they will be perfect for a close friend. Everything in the shop just oozed personality. You dont find yourself questioning weather someone will like a gift, you can see something a KNOW it is going to be perfect. The ladie that was working when we went in was super friendly and she answered our questions before we even asked them. Also she could tell us who made it and where they are from. Part of the charm of these unique objects is knowing a little about each one.

What an amazing store. Unique-one-of-a-kind-hand-made-creations! It’s a small little space tucked right in the middle of some other locally owned store fronts along the 39th St /Westport corridor. It’s small but full of wonderfully creative objects. It’s visually comfortable and all the creations are showcased beautifully. The store owner was working the counter and was more than happy and passionate to take time and talk about any object I had a question about. Not pushy, but very proud of the people she has the opportunity to showcase. This is the perfect place to stop by if you need to buy a unique gift for a unique person any time of the year. I would suggest to stop in often because the creativity doesn’t stop flowing here and I’m sure the merchandise changes often. This is the epitome of a local and unique shopping experience that I’m so happy to have in our city.

«Come with me And you’ll be In a world of Pure imagination» La la love every ounce of this store! As other reviewers have stated, it’s filled with all kinds of unique local crafts & creatiions ranging from quirky(circus-y toys and wall hangings) to lovely(hand crafted cards for Halloween, I couldn’t resist!) I feel like on one visit I couldn’t possibly take it all in. If you’re in need to buy a gift for someone, but are quite clueless, check it out. Don’t go in with any intentions. Go in a blank slate and as Willy Wonka would sing, «Take a look, and you’ll see… into your imagination…» No doubt, you’ll end up leaving with a bunch of stuff that will delight the receiver.

I read an article about this shop back when they opened up in October, and knew that I definitely wanted to check it out. Well, today was the day! It is a wonderful little shop filled with whimsical gifts, and is owned by a mother and daughter team. The Mama, Karen, was present while I looked around, and she was delightful herself! I had a really nice time chatting with her about all kinds of things while I browsed. They sell a nice variety of items, virtually all of them handmade. There are cards, ceramics, stuffed items, prints, clocks, shadow puppets, mixed media pieces, children’s items(super cute crayon-holding aprons among them!,) and much more. I just purchased a never-expiring calendar today, but made mental notes of future purchases I would like to make for either others or myself. Many of the pieces are made by Kansas City folk, but there are other cities represented as well. There is a nice price range too. You can get something that will make you happy for just a few bucks, or you can spend quite a bit more than that. The store is named after the game many of us used to play as kids(at least I did!) MASH — mansion apartment shack house. Karen said the goal was to offer items to uniquely decorate any of those options. It seems like I have been in many little stores like this, but honestly I don’t think there can be too many. I love interesting art and things whether they are useful items or eye candy. I am not ashamed to admit that I enjoy surrounding myself with things that I like looking at, and this store is full of happiness!
