This place is FULL of one-of-a-kind treasures! My dad purchased a giraffe leg bone for me! What??? Where else can you find something that strange? It’s hanging proudly in my office. :)

Me and my friend LOVE this shop. The taxidermy items are gorgeous and they have a wide variety: pelts, skulls, Python jaws, various animal teeth. Just to name a few. And they have full skeletal displays. There is a tiny live plant and crystal collection offered but they mostly sell taxidermy items. The staff are friendly and answered my questions. I like the store’s set up and overall atmosphere. I was so sad that I could only buy small items, having limited trunk space. Next time I’m in the area I’ll pack light for this shop.

Well, I haven’t physically been in the store, but a friend of mine stopped in on a road trip and told me to check out their site. I did, and I almost jumped in my car and started driving out there from NJ myself! I looked through their large online selection and fell in love with a kick ass Fallow Deer skull. My friend had mentioned that they shipped, so, not getting my hopes up I reached out. Well I couldn’t have contacted a more helpful crew! I don’t think I picked the easiest thing to ship, but they acted like it was no big deal. The woman(whose name I unfortunately can’t remember) that I spoke to on the phone sent me additional photos and made what could have been a really complicated process a complete breeze. She kept me updated on the process via text the whole time which was great! The deer skull arrived last night carefully packaged and in perfect shape! I couldn’t have asked for a more stress-free and pleasant experience! I hope to make it out there in person some day! Thanks ladies! You rock!

One of the coolest stores I’ve ever been to. No, I didn’t buy anything, but I sure wanted to. I respect the art of taxidermy; however, it’s the unique stuff that I like the most. Have you ever wondered what a still born baby kangaroo fetus looks like? Do you want to buy a couple of animal bones? Do you have some extra money(lots and lots of money) to spend on crocodile hands? If so, this is your place.

I really want people to start supporting more places like this establishment. They have a wide array of items that are unique to their store and they host First Friday events that support local artists. At the old location inside the Bauer, I’d get helped by one of the two owners right away. Although ever since they moved to the new location, I can’t seem to get anyone to help me or even say hello. I’m sure they get a lot of window shoppers at a place that sells fine taxidermy and other curiosities, so I get the lack of attention. For my birthday last year, my boyfriend was able to get a custom terrarium made and it came out exceptional so I know they do good work and are willing to put in the time when they can. It’s really a great place to support and check out though. The prices are to be expected for the type of items that they offer and they do have an interesting selection of bones, taxidermy/terrariums, crystals, and jewelry.

Very nice taxidermy here, but I wanted to see a bit more in the curiosities variety of items. In my personal opinion, you can’t really call it «curiosities» without a little more of the curious and a bit more diverse items. The taxidermy was very nice, but I’m not that big into taxidermy, and I enjoy a little more in the realm of oddities, art, antiques, etc. They also carry some nice jewelry as well as taxidermy animals and bones, but it’s mainly taxidermy. Worth a visit to check it out.

Man, I could gush over these ladies and their beautiful space all day! Their taxidermy-centric gallery is new to Kansas City and has been so successful in its short life that they’ve had to move to a spot at least 10 times the size of the original! Everything I said about the original still stands, so check out that review: So what’s new in their upgraded digs? In addition to a general«bigger, better and more» inventory, they now have space to breathe, which means not only do they have classroom and instruction space, but also an additional gallery that focuses on printmaking and art like paintings and such. It’s really become a well rounded space. I can’t stress enough that unless you’re the type of person who is just fundamentally opposed to taxidermy(even the strictly ethically sourced such as what they carry at Oracle), then you would be fascinated by a walk-through of this gallery. Everybody I know who has seen it has simply been stunned.
