Good food. I stumbled on this place when I live in Northeast. Great food and the give you your money’s worth and then some. Family owned and very humble and appreciative when you walk in. I ordered vermicelli and shrimp, spring rolls with peanut sauce and the jelly like dessert . Cheap and good. Sadly I ate all this and an hour later I was hungry again. It is good and fresh. Usually hole in the walls have the best food.

I’m always down to give a new family-owned hole-in-the-wall a try, so after reading Tiger’s review, I headed over to Northeast with my dad to get some phở. We were greeted by an atmosphere that matches some of the best ethnic dives I’ve been to. The place was clean, but a few holes in the walls, sodas and ingredients strewn about the rear of the main dining area, and overly loud Vietnamese soap operas blaring from the TV told me I was in the right place. We were greeted in traditional Viet restaurant fashion by a nonchalant woman who seated us and proceeded to disappear for the next 5 minutes. The place smelled wonderful, and I was eager to get my grub on. I have to say, the phở did not disappoint. It was darn good. The flavor was spot-on, and the issue Tiger had with noodle quantity has apparently been solved since my bowl was absolutely swimming with them. The other fixins(lime, basil, sprouts, pepper) were not in short supply, either. The spring rolls were also pretty good, and the peanut sauce tasted much like Saigon 39’s, a plus for me, even though I recognize it’s about as authentic as Pizza Hut. My dad had an egg noodle stir fry that was merely okay. I’m reasonably certain that the egg rolls were just those bought-in things you can get at any cheap Chinese restaurant. Not cool, LauDe! On the plus side, they included in the condiment basket thing the garlic paste by the same company that makes Sriracha. Delicious! Anyway, the phở was definitely worth returning for. I’d give the place a 3.5 for food but rounded down due to the crappy egg rolls and mediocre noodle dish. They’re clearly still improving things, however, and I hope they fix those issues up a bit for next time I come around.
