Just had brunch here(using the deal featured on Groupon). So delicious! I had the Egg Florentine with a mimosa and my husband has the West Coast Benedict. What a delicious and savory meal! Both came with breakfast potatoes. My one tip would be to make a reservation. We saw MANY people being turned away because they didn’t have reservations.

Went for Valentines dinner with another couple… had a great time. We were there for three hours and didn’t feel rushed by the staff at all. We had their special dinner for two and it was all very good. Ribeye was very tasty and tender, and the dessert was awesome! The chocolate torte was amazing and I loved loved the bread pudding. It also came with a bottle of wine which was a good deal. Very good ambiance to the place and its in an up and coming neighborhood.

We live in the area, so I decided to purchase the brunch Groupon. We went on Saturday morning, which was the first Saturday of #KCRW2016. We didn’t have a reservation, but we went right at 10am when they opened and they were kind enough to seat us at one of the few remaining tables that wasn’t already reserved. I had the French Toast, which is ciabatta with pecan orange whipped butter and maple syrup, and it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend had the Eggs Florentine, which had the most perfect poached eggs that I’ve ever seen. The service was excellent. My only complaint is their lack of coffee drinks. They had four alcoholic drinks on the brunch menu, but no coffee selections(other than Irish coffee). I’d like a few latte or espresso options, but since they didn’t have any, I just had a regular coffee with cream. But overall, it’s an excellent place and we would definitely go back.

The bar is always spot on. Great drinks, crafted and timely. Food service is slow. Waited 1.5 hrs for brunch order to arrive. Other tables complained. When my $ 11 «scramble» arrived it had one overcooked fried egg on a pile of spinach, roasted red pepper and mushrooms. Tasted fine but not what the menu suggests. Portion was very small.

We stopped by for a Friday night early dinner. I was really hoping they would have a good happy hour menu but there was no food in the happy hour, only drinks. So we started with the crab and spinach dip which I thought would be one dip. But it was two different once and they were cold; not what I expected. Also it came with about 6 pieces of small bread bites witch was obviously not enough for the amount of dip so we had to keep asking for more. Then I had the veggie sandwich. According to me, the vegetarian option says a lot about a restaurant. Any restaurant can have a couple of good dishes but a truly good one thinks about their vegetarian guests. Unfortunately; this veggie sandwich was a disappointment. It was basically just a lot of cheese with some grapes between two pieces of bread. Good cheese; but still… put a little more effort into it. The server was good; but that’s not enough for me to go back to this place.

Wow! My husband surprised me with a Groupon to Brunch at this place. When we walked in, we were immediately put at ease with the ambience of the place; wood and brick. Having over 40 years of foodservice experience collectively, between us, we view restaurants a bit differently from the FOH to BOH. There was only 1 server, and he already had a 12 top, and 4 other 3 – 4 tops… he was on the edge of the ‘weeds!”… Still, we were greeted by him carrying a number of items and a big smile, instructing us to please sit where we’d like. It took him some time to get to our table, we totally understood, we just sat and took in the experience of the entire place. We could see, this was an educated crowd of 30 somethings(we are ‘just a little’ older). Another 5 tables walked in within 5 minutes after us… this server, did not waiver. He made it to our table and we ordered a Bloody Mary and some waters… he got those right out to us and by that time, since it was Brunch, we were able to decide quickly. Again, he was calm and smiled and stayed friendly under pressure which we empathized with, due to our food service careers. He took our order, made small talk about what we ordered and off he went to care for his other guests in two different rooms. The guy, whose name we later learned was ROBERT, was a machine on the floor! We did wait a little while longer for our food but watching the plates to others whisk by, we believed the ‘art’ we were seeing would taste good. The food definitely did not disappoint! We both had versions of Eggs Benedict… my husband had his with hefty slices of avocado and salmon and mine was with goat cheese and sauteed chunks of mushrooms. It was heaven in our mouths and WELL worth the wait! We appreciated and tipped graciously for Robert’s hard work as our server under fire and, whoever was in the kitchen on 1.2.2015 created some luscious plates for the palate!

Long time favorite has gotten even better with the addition of new operating partner! Her food is delicious! The service can sometimes take a second; however they are always around to bring out fabulous freebies of a special they’re making(they brought us a piece of flourless torte that was incredible!). Brunch is awesome as well. Great spot to check out and go back time and time again.

The bread came with the plate was very hard to eat. The apple slides were still with the small sticker. In addition, the entrée I ordered was the short rib but it didn’t come with any potato, rice or bread. The only good part was the drink.

The drinks were good but just super pricey for happy hour. The food was alright but definitely not worth how expensive it was, nice that they had parking but not the best happy hour maybe will be back but doubtful

Slow service and cold food make The Drop a really hard sell. It’s attractive on paper, but it falters on the execution. The Drop is a relatively small restaurant in Martini Corner. It has an outdoor area, a bar/lounge area, and a dinning room. It’s all very nicely decorated, with exposed brick walls and large chandeliers. The dining room area is small(around 10 tables, and separated from the bar by a wall that has several square openings) and it can get very loud in that space. Reservations seem to be common, so I’d recommend getting one. The place wasn’t full, so we were seated quickly even without a reservation. Our server was very friendly, but service was rather slow. Right after being seated she brought over water, but didn’t return for ten minutes to take a drink order, but we were ready to order at that point. From that point she came back with our coffees quickly, but it took several minutes to flag her down to ask for cream and sugar, and another few minutes to flag her down again to get the sugar because she either forgot or misheard. 30 minutes after placing our order she stopped by to refill our waters and coffee and we asked whether food was cooked to order(out of sheer curiosity due to the wait-we were in no hurry). The server confirmed items were cooked to order, which made it all the more baffling when all items ordered came out cold. Here’s what we had: BELT: pretty basic, two large pieces of bread that completely overshadowed the egg, two pieces of bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. Classic breakfast: the blandest scrambled eggs I’ve ever tasted along with a couple pieces of bacon, spicy potatoes, and a biscuit. Croque Madame: a piece of ciabatta topped with a thick piece of capicolla, fontina cheese, fried egg and mornay sauce. This plate could’ve actually been good, but it was too cold, the mornay sauce in particular. French Toast: again, cold, and more than a bit chewy. The portion was generous, but the dish wasn’t something I’d like to eat much of. The brunch menu has some interesting-sounding items and seemed appropriately price($ 11 average), but the food wasn’t worth the wait.

Got a groupon for this place and thought I would swing by and try the Brunch yesterday with my boyfriend. After about 3 – 4 minutes of standing around at the entrance wondering what we were supposed to do, we were rudely greeted by a man asking if we had a reservation. We said we did not… and he told us we would have to wait. But, our waitress was AWESOME. Food was good… a bit salty but I enjoyed it. Would definitely go back, but heard the rude man do the same to every person who walked in. Can i just say that if you can’t even greet your customers with a smile and a simple ‘hello’…but look down upon them because we didn’t make reservations for brunch at a simple restaurant… you’re going to lose customers no matter how awesome the food or service is. Just my two cents.

First visit to The Drop. Was curious how the brunch was. Was greeted by a very friendly waitress, told us what tables are reserved, ½ the resturant and ½ of those were empty. She said it’s only going to be a 5min wait and at that moment a table opened and she said there ya go I’ll bus that table right now and went to go clean it. Then some pompous jerk comes up and asks if we have a reservation… we say No. His reply is well it’s going to be a 30 minute MINIMUMWAIT! We ask well she’s cleaning that table right there for us, we can’t sit there? His reply… oh well yea you can sit there but I’m not going to serve you for 30 minutes. Seriously??? We left, don’t plan on going back.

This place is so great! We came for brunch and were very happy. It was a Sunday morning when we came, and it wasn’t crowded at all. They only take reservations for brunch, so be aware of that. They are on openTable. The 3 dollar mimosas were great, not watered down. Food was also great. My husband loved the pecan butter on his French toast. Our server was very nice and attentive. I’m only sad we weren’t able to try this place for the«edible cocktails» they are known for. Strongly recommend this place!

Took an hour for 2 breakfast items, with approximately 15 other people in the restaurant. People next to us came in 20 min after us, ordered the same food, and got it 20 minutes before us. Waiter incredibly inattentive and rude. When questioned about wait, he said the restaurant was full… I looked around and it was maybe at 30% capacity but he stuck to claim on being full. Waiter did end up taking care of the bill, which helped to alleviate the irritation. Italian Benedict very good. Breakfast potatoes over seasoned and hard. Breakfast sandwich decent.

My wife and I came here for a quick bite before game 1 of the World Series. This was my first time here. We shared a Reuben sandwich, chips and a tomato soup. The Reuben was awesome! rye bread had great crunch and the pastrami was thick and delicious. The sauerkraut was not overpowering, which I really liked. Chips were nice and crunchy and salted just right. My wife loved the tomato soup — it was chunky and tomatoe-y without being too creamy. Went very well with the chips. I love a place which knows what it’s about and this place has a great sense of itself, and does it well. Good job to the drop!

The drop is an often overlooked gem in Union Hill. I have lived in the neighborhood for the past 8 years now and The Drop, through all its changes always has delivered quality drinks and great food. Their happy hour is one of the best in town featuring great drinks and wonderful appetizers. The butchers block constantly keeps a good rotation of fruits, cheeses and charcuterie, and is great to have with a cocktail or a glass of wine. The cocktail menu is often updated and very solid, and has been ever since I can remember. If you want a nice date you cannot go wrong with the bruschetta and a bottle of wine. The bruschetta is some of the best, if not the best in town. Their brunch is also very tasty. The chorizo biscuits and gravy and the Italian country benedict are two of my favorites($ 3.00 mimosas are a nice addition as well). The drop has always maintained a clean sophisticated atmosphere while never coming off as pretentious. You would do well to go there, relax and enjoy.

Normally I enjoy The Drop… Tonight when we went here the menu seems very pared down to very few dinner selections which was very disappointing. There was also a couple seated nearby using extremely profane language(and it takes a whole lot to offend me). It was all I could do to not get the check and walk out at a few points. Service was very slow. We received the wrong drinks… not even close to what we ordered. I hope this isn’t a trend because I normally really enjoy The Drop.

This place is not one of my friends’s favorites so we rarely go here. After reading several older reviews of this place, my official opinion is that this place has surpassed it’s heyday. The times I’ve been here, even at 9pm on a Saturday night, there’s not much going on. I’ve never seen this place crowded. Not saying it doesn’t happen, I just haven’t seen it. In fact, I’ve walked up to this bar to find it closed while all the surrounding Martini Corner bars were still open. I have never eaten here. They do have good drink specials. It’s just, I guess I want my bars to have a little more life to them. This place seems to be hit or miss and if I’m going to hang out at Martini corner, I’ll probably head to Barrel 31.

It was packed when we walked in & a bit hectic, but we were still greeted w/a smiling face & sat immediately. The staff were all wearing street clothes, no uniforms or aprons. We ordered the lamb meatball sliders & salmon cakes for our appetizers. They were out of gorgonzola, red grape & honey bruschetta. Then the winter squash soup for our second course. We were informed moments later they had sold out of the squash soup & that it was being replaced by tomato bisque. The soup arrived before the apps and our server apologized & told us they would be right out. The soup was warm, but not hot. We also ordered the salmon bruschetta which arrived next. Our entrees, the chicken piccata & roasted jumbo shrimp w/a tomato dill sauce over lemon risotto, were both a bit bland. The risotto was barely warm, but the shrimp & sauce were piping hot. The angel hair pasta was slightly over cooked. Angel hair is hard to cook & I often overcook it myself, ha! They should go with a different pasta though if they cannot get it consistently cooked properly. Our server then notified us that we would recieve dessert for free since there were a few small mixups, which was very nice of her! She brought us their chocolate cherry bread pudding & a grapefruit tart. The pudding was less sweet then most bread puddings I’ve had, but was nice w/the slightly bitter dark chocolate & cherries. We weren’t sure about the grapefruit tart at first. But the more we ate it, the more we loved it! Slightly bitter, perfectly sweet, smooth custard went well w/the graham cracker crust, house made whipped cream & fresh blueberries. It was at this point we realized we never received our appetizers, the lamb slider & salmon cake. Our server apologized & offered to bring them out immediately. But we were full, so we asked her to box them to go. She was back in a few moments w/both. They were absolutely craveable & I would absolutely go back for the lamb sliders! So even w/a few hiccups we talked about coming back for drinks & some of their small plates. The service at Drop is very casual, though we loved our friendly waitress! There were definitely some menu items I will crave in the future! And some I’d like to forget…
