Finding a lamp or light fixture is not as easy as one would imagine. Sure, lights seem to be everywhere; one can buy a fixture at a hardware store or in a catalog, but searching for the perfect lamp or light is harder than merely picking out a vehicle for a 60 watt bulb. The Light Shop has everything you need. Whether you are looking for a new lamp or fixture or looking to rehab a lamp of your own that requires some help, this shop can help you. I’ve purchased full lamps, finials, lampshades(goodness gracious, there are a lot out there!), etc., and the helpful staff has made all of the difference. The Light Shop is also the place that I go for display. Stands for objects, easels from small frames, picture lights, and all of the other things that you wouldn’t go looking for until you found yourself in need are here! In the basement there are a variety of things for sale at clearance prices, which is always fun as well. This is my go-to place for all things related to lights, lamps and fixtures. Come in for a browse. You’ll be glad that you are familiar with this store when you suddenly find yourself in real need of something.

Half the fun of the Light Shop is pretending you’re entering someone’s beautiful, eccentric estate. It’s housed in this gorgeous brick castle type home(ok, it’s not a castle, but it is larger than it should be) with creeping ivy spreading along the veins of the building. It really is nice. Then, when you step in it’s all about the lights. As it should be, properly named thus. Reading lights, main lights, desk lamps, floor lamps, chandelier lamps, decorative lamps, art deco lamps, stained glass lamps… floor after floor of lamps… and mirrors, and curtain furnishings(those tassel things), and lampshades. But mostly lamps and lighting. The basement is where things are on clearance(I always try to find the clearance first). And this was good clearance – stuff for $ 10 and less. Of course, you didn’t really need anything from the clearance selection(mainly decorative knick-knack stuff) but it was entertaining to sort through. Recommendation, shop here first, or at least leave your bags in the car, because walkway room is tight and these are breakables. It’s a lot to take in, so take your time and try to imagine what type of lamp you want before entering. Otherwise, you may feel overwhelmed.
