Top Hat Mercantile

I think the First Friday/​West Bottoms experience can be a bit overwhelming, but dang if I didn’t think «I can’t wait to come back next month!». This place is really organized, the prices were right and I think the various dealers have really come together to create a brand that people will appreciate. Lots of beautiful, on-​trend pieces alongside tongue-​in-​cheek bits. First time through I nearly missed the basement, which is huge!

Wow! This place takes your breath away as soon as you enter. Very clean and creative displays. And you HAVE to visit the lower level! Two thumbs up!

I have been a long time shopper in the West Bottoms. Top Hat Mercantile takes that experience to a whole new level. Beautiful building, creative, interesting displays, unbelievable merchandise, and helpful, knowledgable vendors. So many of the vendors in the Bottoms look like they just unloaded a bunch of stuff and put a price on it. Not Top Hat. I was blown away by the fact that it felt like a well branded, thoughtfully put together store. I loved the way they created different departments: lighting, kitchen, sports, media, etc. I laughed until I cried over the Cheap Mary room (I’m not going to explain it. Just go see it!) Top Hat Mercantile will be my only destination in the West Bottoms from now on!

This place is amazing. It’s definitely in my top three must visit places in the West Bottoms! The design itself is something to behold, and the vendors are top notch, with great selections and different themes, which I think is a great idea for an antique store. The owners have put a LOT of work into their theme, and I love it. Plus, there is a small gift shop area, where you can purchase Top Hat Mercantile themed items. I think the owners got is just right when they created this place. It’s sure to be a huge hit with the West Bottomers!

What a treat to walk into a well-​run, organized, well merchandised antique store. Very clever signs, fixtures, etc at every turn. Great stuff, great variety. A must see when going to first Fridays in the bottoms.
