If I could give them minus stars I would!
It does not work and after months of return retreatments it was a total waste of time. That’s why they don’t guarantee their work for longer then the specified time because the termites are always there they never get rid of them all. And then they have the nerve to tell you that you need more treatment and it’ll take more money they’ll just wear you out because it takes so much of your time to let them in. Horrible waste of time. !!!

Everyone is very nice to deal with however, it takes FOREVER for anyone to get out for a service call. We had our house treated in July and seem to have constant problems with termites still so it doesn’t seem to work. They do have a warranty but it usually takes at least a month for someone to get back to me. Very frustrating!!!

My experience has been the same as the other 2 posts. We gave this company $ 3500 up front to treat our house. We then found termite droppings a few months later and they tried to tell us «termites are swarming» even though we had a baseboard that was filled with termites. Just getting Akamai to come out was a nightmare as they never answer their phone or if the do, they tell you someone will call you back and then you never get a call. Now it’s been over a year and we found termite droppings again and when someone answers their office phone (about once every 5 calls), we are told someone will call us back to schedule a technician to come out. That has been going on for over 2 weeks and we have never received a call.
We have also called the company on the Mainland who was in the brochure that we were given when we purchased their service. The Mainland company says they have nothing to do with Akamai and that they just purchase their Orange Oil Treatment solution.
If you’re reading this and thinking about using this company, Don’t!!! It will be flushing your money down the toilet!

Akamai treated our house and gave a three yr warranty. Two months later, we found termite droppings and called them to return. We’ve called every week for 5 weeks; no return calls yet. What’s good about their warrant
Idk cause they don’t even return our calls! Gotta call the better business bureau. Noticed several complaints on the BbB website already!

I had them treat my house a few years ago and things seemed ok after that. They warranted their work and returned a year or two later to re-​treat. At that time they offered me an additional two years for close to $ 400. I took the bait and trusted they would honor their warranty.
Now, nearing two years later, I’ve left messages on two different numbers but to no avail. I see termite droppings in my house. I will continue to leave messages in hopes they will honor the extended warranty I purchased.
From the beginning, they’ve seemed disorganized, even though the people who showed up were nice enough. There were several phone numbers to call and it took them quite a while to pass my message along until someone got in touch with me to follow up. I don’t even know if this is the same company since there is also a company with this name on the Big Island. Anyway, I hope they will see this review and give hoot!
