Service here was terrible. It took long to get refills on water. Then I had to ask twice about where’s my soda I ordered. Food was ok. First and last time we’ll be eating here. Oh I also had to keep chasing the waitress down for our bill.

I love coming here, especially for the tum yum soup. I fell in love with it cause I’m Filipino and it’s similar to our sinigang one, which is a comfort soup for me. Anyways I’ve come here almost once a month in the past year and I absolutely love it. But last night, I had one of the worst ever service from there. We decided to come and get some soup after watching movies. It was 9:05pm to be exact when we arrived there and since the place closes at 10, we thought we had time. But boy was I wrong. Upon arriving, the waiter just stared at us trying to acknowledge why were there I guess? But whatevers, so without a word my bf said for 2 and she looked at the time then back at us then back at the time again and said«hold on». She then came back with a disturbed look and just said«fine, follow». My bf was already irritated when she sat us down cause I agreed when he said«if they really didn’t want people to come in why didn’t they just say sorry but we stop taking people in around this time» then we would of totally understand. I’ll be bummed but it’s understandable. I worked as a server before, I know the feeling. So I wanted to make things a bit easier and just order right away and not waste time but the waiter did not come back after 5 minutes. Her and this other waiter walked passed us a few times not even looking at us one bit. So again my bf stopped her and said were ready to order. After that, he went to the fridge to grab our condiments and the same waiter had the nerve to wipe the droppings or whatever you call the rice and whatever else was on the table onto the floor right next to me, and it just so happens the rice and a bean sprout landed on my jacket. Right when I was about to say something she walked away. Now I was irritated. I know I wasn’t to expect good service but what the hell, I’m a customer who’s giving you money and you treat me like that? The restaurant was half full when we arrived, not like they were closing already or had only one family there. Of course I didn’t leave a tip. That’s just plain rude. I’ll probably end up going back again but only from that one guy who helped me everytime I went there. He was very accommodating. Skinny tall waiter, Asian, on your cellphone while working, you suck.

The only reason this isn’t five stars is because the other hot pot place we usually go to has a better spicy broth that I can actually take home the leftovers and make a soup with, and gives a free dessert to everyone who eats there. This place has spicy broth that is crazy hot. Other than that, no complaints on this place. Service was great, place is clean and comfortable, great selection of veggies, meats, etc. They give a free dessert for a birthday. We might be back if we are down this side in the future. I heard they have a good lunch special but I don’t know the details.

I came here thinking it was the same as the one in town but it’s a bit different. No conveyor belt and more restaurant style set up. Short review on this one. My brother, sister and I visited one morning for lunch, we actually came so early it wasn’t even open lol. When they did open, we got seated quickly and ordered our soups. I’m a bit sad that we didn’t really like either soup that we ordered. One was the house special and the other was something Spicy at the moment I can’t remember. They just didn’t have a lot of flavor and/or the flavor wasn’t exactly good. We tried adding all kind of sauces to it to salvage it and got a mixture that sufficed somehow. Same as the one in town, you pick your own ingredients but these are in a little fridge in the middle of the restaurant. Again, I’m a bit sad at the higher prices/less amount of food there is packed in each ate as compared to places like Sweet Home Café or Nabeya Maido. The staff was friendly but we noticed some Micronesian guys who were waiting infront of the restaurant like they weren’t there to eat. They talked to the attendant and then they sat in the restaurant toward the back. I’m guessing they worked there as dishwashers maybe? We just found it a bit weird to have some guys just chillin behind us for some reason. I don’t like people just kind of sitting and watching me eat or just staring at the various patrons. Overall it’s a pretty good hot pot place other than the prices and the guys chilling behind us. Unfortunately I can’t rate it higher than three stars because of our distaste for the soup on top of that. On the plus side, they have free juice! It says orange juice but it’s more like tang. It helped with the spicyness of one of the soups(too hot!) I was okay with my experience but I probably wouldn’t go back.

Love this hidden gem in Kapolei. Our new favorite soup base is the Thai Tom Kah! Love it! We also never fail to start with the crispy shrimp appetizer. Sauce bar, FREE fruit juice and early bird specials are great features of this wonderful restraunt.

This place was terrible. I was here last November, but only ate the shrimp and arugula salad. This time I actually had a hot pot. The whole table left hungry, dissatisfied, and frustrated. I’m not too hard to please, but when we are seated with total looks of bewilderment on our faces and NOONE comes up to us to help, I have a problem. Not only that, but when we did get some semblance of help, they spoke in broken English. Getting our check was an ordeal! Our food was bland, and expensive. Between two people we spent 62 dollars and we all left hungry! I’m heating up some taquitos right after coming back from the restaurant and my man is in the bathroom throwing up. Sorry, Hawaii Hot Pot. Not coming back.

This will be my first and last time here. I heard a radio advertisement for a all you can eat happy hour for $ 16.99 from 11 to 3. I even called the kapolei location to confirm. He also stated that last call seating was 230 pm. I got there a little before 2 pm. There was only 1 party aside from us in there. We sat down to order and the server tells me the all you can eat happy hour was only at the ala moana location. What??? I just called 30 minutes prior and they said they had it. Am I missing something here? We figured… agh were here… whatever. Let’s just order. I ordered the D. Which was surf and turf. It came with beef and 2 shrimps. Ummmm… ok. They give you vegetables as well. I figured… okay cool. Not so cool. I found a dead bug on the bok choy. Then I found a hair on the Chinese cabbage! Omg. They were going to give me a new plate of veggies and offered to change out my pot. I declined because 1. I was almost done with my food and 2. They were almost closed for lunch. Why would I say yes to the offer??? As for the hair. they gave me a few more peices of the Chinese cabbage. I was disgusted and had lost my appetite at this. I really had high expectations for this place but I’m highly disappointed.

If you missed the firework show on the beach last Friday night, and you’re craving some free public entertainment– you must check out the parking lot at the 808 Center on Rycroft and Sheridan Street. According to KITV4, the center can accommodate up to 72 vehicles and is Hawaii’s first vertical parking structure. It’s similar to the self parking garage from Tokyo drift. There’s a big window that attracted a crowd as we waited for the building/valet to return our car. If management from the building reads this review– I would request that the window be cleaned and maintained por favor. My snaps of the elevating cars were of horrible quality. I could barely peer into the garage, considering the crowd around me deemed this place town’s newest hot spot attraction. I went around 6pm on a Monday– parking was easy and restaurant had plenty of space. Valet parking was free for the first hour, and $ 2 for every additional hour(with validation). Tip: If you order the Hawaii original pot or healthy vegetarian soup base, you can easily spice it up at the sauce bar. I recommend the Hawaii original pot– it comes with a good amount of steeped goji berries. Goji berries are an antioxidant packed super food that everyone(especially girls) should incorporate into their diet: D I went with a couple of friends and we all ordered different individual broths– which was nice because we got to share and sample more flavors. However the use of sauce kind of blended the taste of the different broths. So might as well get a healthy broth and spice or mildly kick it up! The staff came around and refilled our soup base pots– which I doggy bagged and took home for dinner the next night. This is a superb act of kindness and generosity in my books! Good: ~convenient and entertaining parking ~staff refilled our soup base continuously ~attentive staff: always refilled our water, made sure we were satisfied ~stoked for Hawaii’s first conveyor belt shabu shabu ~tasty home made sauce Ehh: ~Bathroom is kind of inconvenient– outside of restaurant and you need a code ~

Good service. Good food. Sign up for loyalty card, after 100 points you get $ 5 off. Although the one in town don’t honor it, you can save your receipts and bring here and they will honor it to get your points. Wish I knew that sooner. The only complaint I have is the the type of music being played… it was very retro, rave and loud for a dining atmosphere. Otherwise I like this place.

I’ve had better shabu shabu on Oahu but the service here is good and the option of picking your own veggies, meats, and other items to put into the hot pot is awesome. Of course those are options added at additional costs but for me it’s worth it. The size of the regular pots are big but flavors of the soup broths are a bit lacking. I enjoyed the miso broth they offered but quickly forgot the other 3 we had because they were, well… forgettable. They also offer smaller personal hot pots you can keep warm on a burner right in front of you if you are sitting on one of their big tables. The restaurant itself if quaint and looks dated but its quiet and clean. It’s a good option if you’re in the area and want some soup that will fill your belly on a cold windy night but other than that if you have the time you’d probably want to visit elsewhere for shabu shabu.

The food here always hits the spot on a cold night or a «I could use some soup» night. They have a small sauce bar that allows you tp create your own dipping sauce for the items you cook. I like their signature sauce topped with lots of green onions and cilantro. I usually get the tom yum soup with has little bits of pineapple in it. My family likes the original broth that has some dates and goji berries in it. It’s a creamy colored soup. It tastes good too. You can choose the items you want to cook from a refrigerator in the dinning room and it usually has a good assortment of things for you to cook. The service is just average but your sometimes too busy cooking and eating to pay attention. They do also allow refills on the soup broth for free, and I know that some other hot pot places charge to add more soup.

This place is good but for the price it isn’t that good. Our bill comes out to almost $ 20 per person which can be relatively normal but that was for 1 shares hot pot and 2 individuals. The people who work there are nice and always on the go. I enjoyed the hot & spicy flavor broth and the beef tongue sounds gross but is pretty good. I don’t live nearby so it is a bit of a journey to get there but I think after being there a number of times and the price being as expensive as it is plus the added tip suggestions I was a little thrown off.

This place is ok. I’ve been here twice at night(around 8pm). You put your name on a clipboard and waited to be seated. My husband and I were seated quickly. Afterwards you take in the menu and decide what to order. There isn’t much of a price difference in terms of doing a single pot of soup vs an altogether broth. Since I’m with my husband I order an altogether pot. Our favorite broth so far is the miso. The original and the hot & spicy were not great, but miso is miso. After you place your orders with the waitress for soup base + meats, you get up and walk on over to the refrigerator to pick out your veggies/seafood. There is also a table to the right of the refrigerators for dipping sauces. The prices are posted at the top of the refrigerator doors and are color coded. As for meats I love me some rib eye. I noticed that on my last visit I got a lot more meat than normal– possibly due to the fact that they were closing within the hour? Whatever the reason… YAY! Service is a hit or miss. But with shabu shabu I’m pretty low maintenance so the only thing I need a refill on is my water. As for dessert I’ve only tried the deep fried ice cream. Which I totally recommend if you like tempura ice cream. My husband said he didn’t want any, but as soon as it came out… he ate more than half.

Hawaii Pot Shabu Shabu.(4 stars) HOTPOT… LETMECOUNTTHEWAYS I HAVECOMETOCRAVEYOU! Hawaii Pot Shabu Shabu is a great place to come for parties of 2 – 6 people. The seating is limited but so worth the wait! The BF and I have been here 4 times now so I thought I should write a review! As you walk in and choose the soup base of your choice(we usually choose kimchi), you will be met by two fridges full of items you can choose to put in your hot pot! I will caution you that each plate color has a price and while I didn’t see any signs with the prices… Let’s just say the black plates seem to cost a lot more than the spring green plates! Argh… I found this out the hard way the first time we came here… I do make hot pot at home but sometimes I just feel too lazy to cook or we are in the neighborhood so we stop by!(Side note: the Kapolei Lofts that are coming up right across the street would be awesome to live in!)… The highlight of my trips here has been the SAUCEBAR for sure!!! While I have most of this stuff at home it does take effort to make all of it(i.e. Chop up cilantro, blend ginger and scallions, make sauce, etc)… There is also a sesame sauce(not oil) that I love! It is similar to Tahini… It is creamy and maybe the color may be a bright with respect to the rest of the sauces… But it is soooo good! Thai chilis are fresh and give a definite kick to the hot pot and sauce! I tend to add a lot to my sauce which my mouth loves but my stomach later regrets! Although I always order the full pot, people around us tend to order the lunch(individual) pot which I guess if you’re not into«family style»(share with everyone) is fine but the big pot is so much more«bang for your buck!!»… This place is best enjoyed with a group so you can get the pot with two sides and mix up the sauces and the veggies, seafood, and proteins(chicken, beef, lamb, etc)… It’s a great place to bring people who want to try something new! Just keep in mind that everything aside from drinks is self serve(cook everything yourself).

The good: –food quality was great! –dipping sauces were plenty and tasted good too –we got in at 6 and there wasn’t a wait -$ 42 after tax for two people with no drinks or dessert. The not as good: –service was ok; not very attentive. We waited 5 min before anyone came to our table –soup base was pretty watered down and needed some additional sauces to help out Overall, it was good but would be better if service was better

Had the baby arugula rock shrimp salad today, shrimps are on the smaller size but pretty yummy if you ask me! It’s kind of like honey walnut shrimp without the walnuts. The arugula brings a zing to the sweetness of the raisins. It’s different, I like it. This place is our go to when we want hot pot. A bit on the pricier side but it’s the closest one we got to home. Service tonight was kind of slow, we had to ask for our water and tea to be refilled and asked for a spoon for my kid twice. We never got checked on towards the end, so instead of waiting to wave someone down, I just stood at the register. My kids love the free juice they have and my husband loves the sauce bar. I think I just like it because it’s closer to home. The quality of the broth is good, I have yet to try all of them. So far I’ve had, Tom something, miso, house, hot & spicy, and I think the mushroom. I think the vegetable platter at the bottom of the reefer is the best veggie combo they have, and it’s a lot for real cheap!

This place is conveniently located in the new Kapolei Shopping Center near Foodland and Curry House. It didn’t catch my eye at first, but a close friend of mine wanted to give it a try. The overall experience was a good one: Friendly service, good food, and fair prices for what we got. The interior was very pleasant to look at. It was nicely lit and had a rather warm atmosphere. There’s ample seating for parties of all sizes and some tables have pretty dividers as a contingency plan for large or small parties. They offer complimentary lemonade on the side as well, near the add-in fridges. We were quickly greeted and seated upon arrival at 5pm(right when they opened their doors for the dinner portion of their day), but weren’t helped for ordering for maybe ten minutes or so. Our food came out about five minutes after we put our order in, and the lady who brought it out was kind enough to show us how to work the heat levels with the table stoves. The staff wasn’t very attentive, though. We were only offered refills once and we had to go to the front to get the attention of the lady so that we could grab our check. The food was pretty good. I had the original broth, which had a nice, light flavor to it. It came with indiscernible berries inside of it, but I’m not one to question that too much — berries are berries, right? My friend had the spicy base, and it was delicious! — but too spicy for my palate. The add-ons in the fridge are relatively inexpensive depending on what you grab. I’m pretty basic, so I stuck with Chinese cabbage, choy sum, udon noodles, and broccoli. I was not disappointed by the flavors one bit. I left nice and full. This place was my first hot pot experience, so I have no frame of reference to compare the experience to. I can guarantee that this won’t be my last visit here, though! Definitely bringing the mister here when he arrives.

Going to a restaurant with groups is a must in my life. You can process life over a meal. Just like how Jesus ate with his disciples. I made a reservation for 7 and 5 of my friends were late. It’s because they stay on Hawaiian and Filipino time. Anyways, the staff was real patient with us since we wanted to order when everyone arrived. First off, the service is friendly. They fill up your drinks quickly and bring your food in a respectable amount of time. The hot and spicy broth is good. Like most reviews, it’s not that spicy. Their spicy house sauce with rice wine and garlic is perfect with your meats and shumai. You can order shabu shabu hot pots in a personal pan(lol that reminds me of Pizza Hut) or in a shareable pan. It was nice how they split the big shareable pots in half. That made it very easy to share the same broth with different sides. For instance, my friend is allergic to seafood so I had Kimchee squid in mines while he had the ribeye steak on his side. Note: any soup base you get, I strongly suggest adding rice noodles, enoki mushroom, and quail eggs inside! It’ll fill you up and help u disappear the soup faster. The only draw back is the prices here. We spent about $ 179 without gratuity. We ordered more than we should of but the dessert and side dishes/meat is not as affordable like the yummy hot pot places in town. But this is in the Leeward coast so if you think you are saving money by not having to drive out to town then you are wrong. They have interesting desserts and their battered goods are small portions, but tasty.(I.e., oyster tempura and the agadeshi tofu). Be mindful at what you grab for side dishes will increase you bill. I suggest that this restaurant should tally colored dishes on a tally sheet on a check based on person so they can separate checks easier. Trust, I know the struggle when peeps put cash down but lack tip. A peeve is when no one wants to own up to not giving in tip but you feel bad bc you know how hard the staff is working; therefore, I forked in the extra. Praise God for provision! Oh and deserts are good. My tempura cheesecake was still frozen in the center so it was not great in consistency. Even the fried ice cream was the same. It is not the best but worth it if you share on a date or something. But yes, this is not bad just adjust the prices and learn to separate checks up front(if you are eating in a big group) then you should be good.

I believe this place is better than ichiriki. It’s like having another sweet home but on the west side Location: small shopping center hidden in kapolei by food land. Restaurant seems small inside but is fairly nice and clean. Place is busy which must be a good thing. Customer service: great service. Great with filing water and attending to needs. Quality of food: hands down amazing ! How it works. Order your own soup base and meat and as far as other items you pick they are color coated on plate trays per pricing. The more you add the more pricey it gets. I believe average spending would be $ 25 per person. Ordered the fried ice cream and loved it! I would forever come back over and over ! Great for friends or dates and can be fun. If you’re a lazy person that doesn’t like to cook. Maybe it’s not for you.
