Chicken salad was dry and not very tasty. I also ordered a toffee éclair and it was okay, again the pastry was a bit dry. I ordered a ½ a chicken salad sandwich and salad combo, a peach ice tea, and an éclair and my bill was $ 19.00. Definitely not worth the price.

This place is absolutely adorable and a little gem of old town Katy. Their strawberry & cream tea is my favorite and it’s amazing. Try it! My husband and I usually share the chicken pot pie(so good!), a soup of the day and at the end we have a scone, fully dressed of course. The food is delicious! Also, perfect little antique shops all around within walking distance. This tea shop is perfect for parties and brunch! We will be back!

This is a favorite for me and my coworkers! When the weather gets cold we come here to enjoy the awesome teas as well as the best chicken pot pie! The flacky top combined with the huge chunks of scalding hot chicken and veggies is all you need on a chilly day! The menu is small and by small I mean three things but who cares all you need to know is they have pot pie! I like the Irish Blend of tea bc there are dried strawberries in the loose leaf tea that make it worth the trip, and they sell the teas too so I can have the goodness at home. This restaurant is located right snack in the middle of Katy and antique and knick knack shopping is always a before and after event. So happy that this place continues to stay open and love the traditional mom and daughter brunch here before we shop for special finds at the surrounding shops.

My wife and I LOVELOVELOVE this place! They NEVER have an off day when it comes to the quality of their food. NEVERRRRRRR! The best Shepherds and Chicken Pot pies hands down i have ever known, we have even ordered multiple family portions for the holidays one year, and they went down without any leftovers… im not a tea conneseure at all, so i cannot speak in that regard. Cant say enough about the pastries, while each person has their own taste, i’ve never eaten a substandard morsel @ Kay’s. The quiches are second to none, and she has a chicken barley soup that just warms the SOUL. Salads are always fresh and crisp. We knew Kay would do well, we discovered her place by accident in the Katy Sun as we knew her from when she used to manage the French Gourmet Bakery on Memorial, and while not all of the offerings are the same, we feel Kay’s is MUCH better, and closer to home as a bonus!

I took my wife here for lunch and we really enjoyed the food and the service was great. All the food including desserts are made on-site. The pot pie was great, the daily special soup was also great and we had the cherry chocolate strudel was the best we ever had. They also will do family size meals for pickup. Please try it, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

I have come to Kay’s for years. The tea and food(pastries!!!) are lovely. My daughter always orders the chicken pot pie, and it is hard for me to not get a shepherds pie but I do order the quiche, chicken salad sandwich, chicken salad plate and soup as well. If you are a fan of pot pie you really must try theirs. It has a buttery flaky crust, with a velvety sauce that hugs the chicken and veggies in the most wonderful way. Yum. For those Shepherd’s pie fans, well you have not had better unless your UK granny made it for you. The beef is rich but not to rich, with a wonderful mix of carrots, peas and onions and the most delicious mash you will ever have. But don’t over indulge on your meal because the true treats are up front on display in the pastry case. Sometimes I like to pop in on a weekend and order a pot of tea and scone dressed and this is really my favorite. The scones are very traditional and delightful. My daughter typically gets the toffee torte or the sticky toffee pudding when they have it. They also have sausage rolls. If you had never been here I suggest you try it. The shop itself it not one of these new decked out places. They have mis match tables with real table clothes and it make you feel like you are back at your grannies house for a nice cozy lunch.

I just ordered a Christmas hot tea with honey. It was very good. I saw a couple there eating lunch and they had a very appetizing plate of food. I’ll be back to eat soon!

I came here for lunch, but they stop serving lunch at 3pm. So I can’t rate that, but I did get a pastry and tea. I had the chocolate puff pastry and it was delicious! The whipped cream is fresh and amazing and the pastry wasn’t burnt and was yummy! The tea was fine, I like the set up of the tea. I also had the sausage kolache which was delicious! My sister got the traditional Scottish pie that has toffee pudding, banana slices and whipped cream, which was also delicious! This is a nice cute café for a change outside of the monopoly of chain restaurants. The lady who bakes everything is Scottish and makes its fresh daily!

My wife brought home mushroom & bacon quiche from Kay’s Tea Parlour and it was hands-down the best quiche I’ve ever had. In the past we’ve stopped by here for a piece of the DELICIOUS banoffi pie, but now that we know about the amazing quiche we’ll be stopping in more often. Keep up the good work!

Very delicious very cute. Nice tea parlor to go to if you live in Katy and don’t want to run into Houston. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Décor is homey. Went here for a date with my Hubbie. We both enjoyed it. Will definitely come back!

Stumbled on this tea room while shopping, served us promptly, we had specialty made tea, chicken salad plate and potato and lentil soup chased by chocolate éclair. Prices reasonable, easy access, small and intimate and we loved the fresh carrot cake you could take with you and then pop in the oven when you got close to kitchen, desserts divine. Eager to try other items on the menu.

Visited a retired friend WAY outside the loop… She had picked this spot after hearing rave reviews from neighbors. A delightful lunch spot. Mainly ladies dining but a few of us guys there. Two Scotch ladies are owners/chefs/bakers(the latter their strong suit). Everything fresh. We had soups of the day, shepherd’s pie, chicken pot pie, and desserts. All VERY good. Give these ladies a try.

Went here for lunch with my mom and daughter. Cute, small, quaint place in old Katy. The sandwiches are average, the salad was fresh and tasty as was the soup. Not a huge variety of tea, but good enough. The desserts were the best part! The staff is super sweet and accommodating. Get there early, they don’t stay open much past lunch. I wish they had more of a high-tea type menu, but still a nice, quiet place for ladies to lunch.

Delicious, friendly and good service! The only unfortunate thing about this place is they don’t have high chairs or booster seats.

This is a gem that I lucked into while traveling between Houston and Austin one day. We were in the area looking at antiques and while my kids really wanted McDonald’s I reallllly wanted something else. One of the shop owners in the area raved about this place. We were in luck and it was still open. Well, the hours said they should have been closed but the sign said open and they were warm, welcoming and willing to serve me. A person still in the café person told me to try the chicken pot pie and promised I had never had anything better. Well that was so true. It was sooooo good. And then I found out they had homemade lemon curd. I bought a piece of cake made with it. It was good enough for me to inquire about a jar of the stuff. I brought it home. I wish I had bought more than this one little jar. It is to die for! My husband and I are savoring every little bite. It is the best lemon curd I have ever had. I will be leaving earlier when I travel between cities so that I can get here during opening times. It used to be Hinzes BBQ we would head for… now we have a completely different alternative. I wish the lady who hales from the British Isles the best of luck and I hope others will discover this little gem in Katy! Totally worth the stop!!!
