Verna’s Drive inn

Love love love Verna’s! I visit my family every year and I always make it a priority to eat at Verna’s.
For this visit with my husband, i got the cheeseburger. I always get their cheeseburger! Their hamburger patties just have a great flavor to them… yum! My husband got their captain’s plate. And we also shared an order of their fried noodles (fried saimin)…that totally hit the spot! I had one of his fried shrimp and of course his Mac salad. And OMG their Mac salad is as fabulous as I remembered it to be! So fabulous I almost ordered my childhood favorite plate… the Teri beef plate. But I was so full on my cheeseburger and fried noodles that I didn’t order it.
I used to come here on the regular, well the original Verna’s location in Keaau. In last two years I made the commute to Hilo to get my Verna’s fix, so I was very very glad that they opened this location in Keaau. Still one of my favorite «drive-​ins» on the Big Island!
Four stars only because I wanted to sit outside like the original Verna’s venue! :P
