What a lovely little place! Loved eating here… had actually meant to come here sooner but kept putting it off. We accidentally came a little earlier than they opened so we killed time at the nearby second hand stores. Everything we had tasted wonderful, from appetizer to dessert! My favorite was their apple torte dessert, delicious! Their décor is super cute too. I believe the waiter had mentioned they’re gonna be changing up the menu a bit, but it seemed like pretty exciting news. I’d also make a reservation just in case! We were able to get in without one though.

Please note the hours are wrongly listed here. They are 4pm, maybe obvious to some but I should have thought about it a little harder. We had decided to skip lunch and have an early dinner, so we arrived around 3:30. Not a huge deal, they were still kind and seated us pretty soon. The food was very good and fresh, maybe pricey for the portion size though. My «half size» diner salad was about the size of a house salad at most chains. I was hoping for more sandwich style options but there were none. Salads, pizza and pasta options only. No kids menu but they did make a cheese pizza for my kids.

I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on some fantastic food and ambience right in my backyard! You have to try the Smoked salmon and shrimp with artichokes or the adult mac and cheese. Plus you can’t leave unless you try the walnut apple torte with Carmel sauce — WOW!!! We hope to visit more often and try the different dinner options. They even have flat breads and curry!!! No need to go to town :)

Doubly delicious… we had an awesome meal. Mac and cheese was very good. The onion cheese dip was rich and amazing. The dessert was the best. This by far has been our best meal in Hawaii.

Delicious food and kind service. Not the cheapest place but worth the couple extra dollars. Incredible veggie pizza(I am a meat eater) and yummy sandwiches. Brian was extremely friendly and pleasant.

This is an adorable quaint off the beaten path restaurant. The menu offers many healthy fresh options. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly server who not only introduced himself but also gave us the other waiters name if we needed anything. We split the Waldorf salad which they divided for us and still was a heaping amount of salad. The lettuce was perfectly fresh and the presentation lovely. We also ordered the garlic bread which was wonderful. For main dinner entrée my husband ordered the margarita pizza his comments were that it was good and fresh the pizza is not saucey and served with chunks of mozzarella. I ordered the chicken red curry and it too was delicious. We ordered coconut cake to go and will definitely be back! The service continued to be exceptional throughout our meal.

A delicious and quaint small restaurant. They don’t serve alcohol so bring your own. The food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful. I don’t see how anyone could have anything but an excellent experience here.

A girlfriend brought me into Strawberry Patch for lunch, and I’m so glad she did! I’ve been meaning to stop by every time I drive into Kealakekua but never got the chance to. It’s a self-seating restaurant and we decided to sit outside because the weather was gorg! They had a good selection to choose from, the menu wasn’t overwhelming and thankfully was more than a page long(if u know what I mean). I ordered a grilled veggie ciabatta with chips and my girlfriend ordered a balsamic brie flatbread with grilled veggies and flower petals! Not too sure why they put the flower petals in there but it def made it prettier to eat! Staff is friendly, restroom is clean. I was impressed that they offered gluten free and vegan alternatives. I gave it a 4 star because although everything tasted delicious and they had a good variety, they’re slightly overpriced.

My husband and I had lunch, and it was very fresh and flavorful. I got the Waldorf salad and he got a BLT with a fried egg added. Great quality produce, especially since we are on an island. It was a dollar or two more pricey per meal than some of the other local restaurants but about $ 13-$ 16 per plate for lunch which wasn’t bad. Clean cottage style dining area, ideal for an intimate lunch or a girls day.

Lovely, simple little spot. I had the cobb salad and a cup of delicious — hearty — white bean soup with chicken. My only complaint is the balsamic vinaigrette: a little too thick. Please make a simple, healthy vinaigrette for your delicious salads. Use a vinegar without sugar(coconut or sherry?). Healthier. Less heavy. Also: great friendly server. The best herbal iced tea on the planet. Price is fair by island standards.

Lovely little place! Very cute décor and all around great vibes here! The service was fantastic, the flavors were fresh, and the food was great! We started with the cheese plate. The brie was awesome! I had never been to a place that served it warm like that. It was melty and soooooo good! There was also a very interesting piece of garlic. When I asked the server about it, he explained that they bake it for hours before serving it. Very cool! I also really liked the bread that was served with it, along with grapes and pears. Beautiful presentation! I also had a pasta dish that consisted of basil, tomato sauce, pesto and shrimp. Everything tasted so fresh! The herbs tasted like they had just been picked from a garden! I also tried my fiancé’s dish. It was a chicken alfredo. Very good! We didn’t try any of their beverage selection but even their water was beautiful! They decorate it with a lemon and some mint in a mason jar. It was seriously some of the best water I have ever tasted! Really, really wanted to try their dessert but we were so full. Very disappointed we missed it. Next time for sure! Aside from the food, our server was great! He was very gracious and on top of things. Very cute, too :) we will be back!

Great service and great food, what else could you ask for? This place stayed open after closing and served us. They did not rush us, and provided fresh and delicious food. Must order: bruschetta Also good: red curry and Mac & cheese

Seriously a hidden gem of a place… I call this homespun CPK(California pizza kitchen) because it’s got great salads, pizzas, sandwiches and yummy homemade desserts. I went the restroom around the back and saw a lady from the kitchen go out and pick herbs then go back in… What’s not to love about a place like that. This place makes me just love Kona!

Excellent food! The onion soufflé is amazing on the appetizer menu, one of a kind. We eat here at least once a week, and have yet to be disappointed. The pizzas are unique, the ingredients are fresh, everything has a perfect blend of flavor. Right by the highway, but after a few you won’t even notice. BYOB and enjoy this amazing place to eat

This place was exceptional, even with the other good reviews I wasn’t expecting it to be THAT good. We had a garlic shrimp starter and a Ruben with salad, both were pretty amazing. I would suggest sitting inside, the traffic is right next to the outdoor seating and it got a little loud at times.

Four and a half stars if I could. This cute little gem of a restaurant is right off the highway. Blink and you’ll miss it, but if you miss it you’ll be sorry you did! The décor used to be charmingly kitschy. They’ve updated their menu and expanded their dining area and since then opted for a cleaner but still charming atmosphere. The food here is classic food made better. Or maybe I could describe it as gourmet comfort food. I’ve been here for lunch and dinner, and have yet to be disappointed. Sandwiches, salads, and pizzas generally make up the lunch menu. Dinner includes some of the lunch menu items, as well as pastas and curries. The uptown Mac and cheese for dinner is a winner in my book. Whether you’re in the mood for something light or something decadent, Strawberry Patch has something for you. Craving dessert? Their cakes are delightful. I knocked off half a star because the noise from the highway can be distracting(which I know can’t really be helped… Maybe some soft music?). In addition, sometimes when they’re busy service can be a bit off… Which I would understand if the restaurant wasn’t so small(somewhere around ten tables).

I really like the food at The Strawberry Patch, but be prepared to spend about $ 5.00 more per dish that you feel is justified. The first time we had lunch at The Strawberry Patch we had Sergeant Seavey’s French Dip Sandwich(Roast beef, melted cheese, horseradish, mayo and Guiness au jus) and the Picasso Grilled Panini(turkey, cheese, roasted peppers, house made basil pesto, on grilled rosemary bread). Both were very good, but the stand out that day was the dessert — Apple, Walnut Caramel Cake, which was AMAZING! Today we had the Chicken Milanese with arugula salad(lightly breaded crispy chicken breast, with arugula salad, shaved Romano and cherry tomatoes) and the special sandwich, Croque Madame(ham sandwich with Bechamel sauce, cheese and a fried egg on top). All were good too, but we did not have dessert today. I like The Strawberry Patch a lot, but paying more than $ 15+ for a sandwich is high, even for Hawaii. The service is great and the setting is nice, although a bit cold since there’s so much shade. I look forward to trying the dinner menu out.
