First of all don’t market yourself as something you’re not. I’ve dropped in three times n never had Costa Rican food. Today I decided to try it. The food was awful. Dry steak. Flavorless beans and rice. Will definitely not come back again. Not recommended.

Great Costa Rican food and service! Make sure to get the gallo pinto for breakfast or an empanada in the afternoon.

This place was originally a Puerto Rican spot but is now owned by Costa Ricans.
The woman who works the counter and the phone is so sweet and just genuinely a great person. Unfortunately, I can’t remember her name :(
Anyway, They just opened not too long ago so their menu is limited however, they take special requests! So yesterday, which was my first time going, I basically asked if they could make me mangu, queso frito and salami and she said she would definitely attempt to make it for me. Obviously this is a Dominican dish but they really did such a good job. It tasted very good and authentic.
Tonight I decided to order from them again and I got some steak with rice and beans. Again, the food was delicious and moist. They also charged my credit card at the door which I was happy with because I really hate giving my card over the phone nowadays.
Over– all, I am very happy with this location. They are great and friendly people. Food is authentic and made on the spot. I am happy to have a Spanish spot in Kearny because it is very limited in this town. I have no complaints!
