We landed at Kearney airport and needed a ride into town. There is usually a loaner car available but we couldn’t reach the airport manager. We ended up calling West End Café and the owner drove out to pick us up! It’s only a two minute car ride from the airport to the restaurant(we didn’t know that) so we ended up walking back to the airport through the golf course. I ordered tamales and Spanish rice; everything was really good. It’s not the overall best Mexican food I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely better than average(8⁄10) and is certainly worth the stop. To be fair to the West End folks, it’s not a Mexican food place… they have a wide selection. My friend ordered the Club and was very happy with it. We’ll be flying in again! West End Café has outstanding customer service(they let us use their wifi too) and good food! Their wait staff is quick and friendly. We’re lucky to have found this place. Note: They’re under new management as of January 2014. Also, if you fly in, take some golf clubs. The fifth tee is less than 100′ from the parking area.

Add this stop on your out of the way trip to Eastern Arizona. A little off the beaten path but well worth the trip. They do breakfast @ 5:30 Tuesday through Friday, 6:30 Saturday & Sunday and lunch, open till 3:00. Good portions, good hometown food.
