I’ve been here many times. The quality comes and goes, but it’s never really very good. it’s cheap though.

Yikes! I really want to give them more stars, but I think 3 is being very generous. Generous portions, very flavorful, and a very heavy meal. I ordered 3 entrees: ckn lo– mein(good) Ckn fried rice(good), ckn Kung Pao(heavy on vegetables=not good). Biggest complaint… sanitation! Sticky tables. Sticky soy sauce bottle. Sticky sugar container. Went there on a Slow Sunday. «Chefs» we’re in the dining room waiting for customers. When I ordered, they quickly got up and made my first 2 entrees. DIDNOTWASHHANDS. Then came back out to dining room again. I ordered my 3rd entrée to go… «chefs» quickly got up again, DIDN’T WASHHANDSAGAIN, and made my 3rd entrée. Just a suggestion… On a slow day, have your employees/chefs clean. You can feel the ickiness once you walk in. You almost don’t want to touch anything. Prices are good, but the risk is too high for me. I can’t come back here. Deal breaker… a customer walked in to use the restroom. Many Minutes later he came out to ask for toilet paper. I’m going to assume the restrooms aren’t «cleaned/check on» in a regular basis either.

Definitely no frills but the food is good, hot, and the portions are plentiful. I’ve done both dine-in and take-out many times over the last couple of years and they’ve only ever made one mistake. I’ll keep going back.

They give you large portions of food but the quality is not there. It is possible make the food taste better with soy sauce and suck sauce but just pure is too bland. Also when I was eating here it was very bland everything was white.

The guy who told me that he «just works there» had a major awful attitude. They need to find some worker with better attitude. Very rude and will never order there again.

I am not the type of person to ever leave leftovers or throw food away, unless it’s either way too much food, or the food is spoiled. I think this was the first time that I couldn’t finish all my food due to it tasting bad.

I go here once or twice a month. The food is avg and every once in a while it is pretty good. The prices are reasonable and they even deliver however there is a minimum of around 15 bucks for that. The times they have delivered the service has been good and took about a half hour. Whenever I order for pickup they get my order right but the guy answering the phone doesnt have much personality. All in all a typical takeout chinese joint and a solid 3 stars. enjoy

If you’re on a budget and you don’t really care about the quality of your food, eat here. I absolutely love Chinese food, but this place was awful. The sesame chicken is covered in a sauce with the consistency of jello. It sticks to the inside of your mouth like cement. The crispy noodles that go in the soup weren’t even good. The price is super good, but you get what you pay for here. Cheap price, cheap food.

Great value on the family meal. $ 17.99 usually feeds us twice. Amazing flavors and quantity! Also speedy service when you pick up.

I hate to do it but I have no choice. They must have misunderstood my order. I asked for the Orange Chicken. I got the Orange Chicken Fat. +1 to the reviewer who said the Orange Chicken tastes like batter and oranges. He was right. Thankfully we only ordered a small dinner — the Orange Chicken only. You were warned.

Not bad… showed up ½ hour faster than they told me they would. Decent portions, decent prices. What else would you expect in Suburbia?

We have lived in Keller for 6 years and every time we have ordered HKE, it has been fresh and delicious. My entire family looks forward to Chinese delivery night!

I don’t usually get the craving for Chinese food, but for some odd reason I did tonight. As Hong Kong Express is the closest Take out place to the house, I decided to give them a try. First off, I was surprised to see that HKE also has some tables for dining in, so it’s not just a carry out place. After looking over the menu I opted for the Kung Pao Chicken and some vegetable stir fry dish. I took a seat and waited. Each dinner comes with rice and and an egg roll. A few minutes later my food came out and I was handed a bag. I picked up the bag and it was heavy. Was there really much that food in this bag? When I got home, I weighed it… 6.5 pounds. So definitely value in volume. Food wise, it was pretty good. The Kung Pao had plenty of dried chili peppers a good flavor. The veggie dish was also generous and tasty. The volume of food was enormous. It ended up feeding us two more times, so the value was definitely there. Next time I get that craving for Chinese, HKE will definitely be at the top of my list.

Food is consistent. Service is great. Prices are reasonable. For what I’m paying for, it meets and at times exceeds expectations. It’s not a place for a date night if your trying to impress, but works well when you feeding the family on short notice.

Ate here for lunch last Friday. Very small stip mall store with seating for about 15 tops. Menu is large and varied and prices are very reasonable. I tried the General Tso chicken lunch special which came with either steamed or fried rice and an eggroll for $ 5. Entrée and a water cost me $ 5.41 for lunch. The chicken is as good as any General Tso chicken I’ve ever had and the portion was quite generous. The egg roll was only so-so but was crispy and fresh. My bud from work got the shrimp fried rice and said it was really good as well. I will definitely go back for more. Oh, and btw, they have free delivery!

It’s…decent. Don’t get me wrong I’ve had some really good things here BUT I’ve also had some really bad things. Delivery is fast and service is polite not much to complain about.

I wouldn’t say this place is ‘A-OK’( Unilocal’s 3-star definition). But it’s ‘OK’(does that count?). Good Chinese food in this area just does not seem to exist, but I’ve found a small handful of OK places with reasonably edible food. Hong Kong Express is one of those places. I’ve passed by this place countless times in the 4 years I’ve lived here and had never been in. Earlier this week I was prompted by a review I read and noticed all the other positive reviews and decided it was time to check this place out. So I stopped in at lunch time one day to get some takeout. I ordered the Garlic Pork with fried rice and the Veggie Lo Mein so I’d have some leftovers for lunch the next day. My order was cooked fresh after I ordered it and was ready to go in less than 10 minutes(probably closer to 5). When I got home, I was surprised by the quantity of food I got for about $ 11.50. I was definitely going to have leftovers for the next day. The food was also still very hot. The food was OK. The Garlic Pork was loaded with crispy veggies and the meat was tender, but the sauce was too thick for my taste and a bit on the sweet side. However it did have some spicy zing to it and that was the only thing that saved the sauce. The Lo Mein didn’t have as much veg-matter as I’d hoped — a few small pieces of broccoli, carrot, mushroom and I forget what else. The noodles were thicker than what I was expecting and the sauce didn’t seem right for Lo Mein. Again, not bad — just OK. So yea, I’ll probably go back but I think I’ll try something else that’s not in a brown sauce. BTW, the do have lunch specials for less than $ 5 and they come with rice(steamed or fried) and an eggroll(which isn’t bad, but it’s a tad greasy). Do yourself a favor, though, and do not use the plum sauce for the eggroll. That stuff is gross.

A great little place with BIG taste! They have an extensive menu, and the prices are great, especially for the lunches. Local delivery as well. I’ve ordered from them many times for staff lunches at my business, and everyone love it. Good quality food. If you like spicy Chinese dishes, you won’t be disappointed either. The Kung Pao and Hunan dishes are great. Heck, it’s ALL good!

I am going to give this one a very positive review because the food was delicious, the service is extremely fast, the menu diverse and yet the price is amazing. On my first visit(thanks to Unilocal by the way) I had the Garlic Pork lunch special for $ 4.79. Garlic pork has shredded bamboo shoot, water chestnut, celery, carrots and pork is a garlic sauce. This is a spicy dish and it lived up to it’s spicy rating. The service was quick and the restaurant was very clean.

Typical Chinese food except better. The thing I liked the most about this particular HKE is the soy sauce is not watered down or bland like so many other places. Drink the pink lemonade! Denard Diego
