Keller Tavern

First time I’ve ever felt like I needed to actually review an establishment on Unilocal.Every time I come to this place it’s moderately busy, but nothing that shouldn’t be handled by a decent staff with ease. The bartenders seem like they aren’t interested in being there. It takes way longer than it should to get a drink. Trust me as someone who has worked in this industry a long time I am not just some impatient a-​hole. Just don’t appreciate feeling ignored. Haven’t been in years for these reasons and probably won’t be back anytime soon. Hopefully this review can help this establishment improve its customer service.

Great Service (saw a soccer-​match in Europe), polite and motivated Akasia behind the bar and good beer (for a texanian one)! I’ll be back for sure!

Service sucks. Whiskey selection kicks ass. Live music is good too. But the service sucks.

As transplant New Yorkers this place is exactly what we were searching for in TX! Great bar food, cold drinks, awesome patio, and very personable staff. We can’t wait for this summer and many nights spent with friends on the patio!!! Cheers Keller Tavern for kicking ass!

Meh. It wasn’t bad but I would never suggest this place to anyone. My husband and I met a couple here for dinner and beer. The location was easily accessible since it was off 377 and parking wasn’t bad. Walking into this quaint establishment I noticed a stuffy smell. To quote my husband he said he smelled like a gym.
The service was REALLY slow. Like… really slow. We has to go to the bar to order our drinks and 10 minutes later we met our waitress. .
I ordered the mushroom burger with jalopeno rings (BTW when I asked the waitress if these were like fries pickles but with jalopenos she said no. they’re jalopeno rings.)
Husband ordered BBQ burger with no veggies with sweet potato tots. When we got our food my husband was disappointed because his burger came with veggies and a small dab or BBQ sauce (definitely not worth naming the burger a BBQ burger).
Beer was decent but for being a tavern that advertises craft beer you would expect a wide variety of beer.
Either way the experience was OK but I wouldn’t go again.

Never been here before but we were with friends and wanted to check it out. We walked in the back patio which looked like it might be okay in the summer but when we walked in, it had a funky odor like a bunch of people sitting in their depends relieving themselves. It was enough to turn around and walk out. Not sure if it was the remnants of not cleaning up from NYE or what but not something we wanted to endure. Maybe we’ll give it another try again one day.

How sad that we waited so long to come here! The beer was cold, the food was really good!!! Have to try the jalapeño rings! Even met the owner! Will be coming back here! To top it off the bartender came out just to make sure we liked everything! This place is a class act!

Changing my review for this place. First time I came here the service was alright and husband and I didn’t have any issues. Maybe you get faster service if you sit at the bar? I don’t know, but we came here the other night with another couple and it took over 25 minutes to get menus. Husband asked the bartender for some and the guy told a server to get us menus…15 minutes later no menus and she’s busy talking with some man sitting at the bar. I go up to the bar this time and ask him for menus and made it clear the waitress hasn’t come to our table yet. We held onto the menus for ANOTHER 15 minutes and finally the waitress comes around asking us what we wanted to drink. I think at this point you can see how the rest of the night went. She was unattentive, slow and just plain horrible at her job. It wasn’t even busy and it took 30 minutes for us to get our food. I ordered the philly and it was so blah and dissapointing.
The waitress even messed up and charged the wrong bill on our cards and mixed our orders up with the couple we were with…
I don’t understand how our serivice the first time we came was 10 times better than the last time we came.

This is my local hangout. I come probably twice a week for food beer and whiskey. I think their wings are the best in town!! Schyler has done a great job since hes taken over and the bar and waitstaff are top notch. Rebecca, Camille, Chad, Steph and Rocky are the best! I love this bar!

First visit, so we are definitely not regulars. I don’t write many reviews, but I felt I should after all the reviews complaining about the service here.
The service was really good. Maybe they’ve made some changes since the previous reviews. We were greeted and able to give drink orders right when we sat. The bartender saw me drinking my last gulp and from across the bar asked if I was ready for another. I wanted a whiskey instead of another beer, but I digress. I think that is attentiveness.
Did I mention the they have like 80 whiskeys?
We ordered sliders, which were quite good. My wife asked that the sliders be well done, and they got that right. We also got some spicy, fried cheese things that were delicious. The price was about $ 25, not bad for two drinks and two appetizers.
We will definitely come back.

The reviews on here are right about the service. The wait/​bartender staff is unfriendly and it almost seemed like they were truly inconvenienced if you asked for anything. I’m not sure who trains them but they are doing a terrible job. Seemed like a bunch of power-​happy hipsters that take their jobs too seriously and deems their customers as «not cool enough» to be treated well. The kind of wait staff you feel like as soon as they get off they bitch and moan about you for ordering a lime instead of a lemon, you know what I mean? We were given en «eye roll» after our waiter took over in to come so we thought we had to order drinks at the bar. Then, after waiting 10min my husband was talked to like he was some kind of idiot when we asked for our checks because he was «standing in the wrong spot» to do so and after he moved to the «correct area» at the bar to ask for his check had to wait another 5min. He was completely ignored on purpose. After all that they gave our credit card to someone else! Thank goodness the customers with our cc were honest people. Slow & rude service. Nice outdoor ambiance, hence the two stars. Has the potential to be a great spot.

I’ve been here twice now and both times the bartender in the patio area was running around crazy because their setup is terrible. Waiting 30 mins in between beers gets very frustrating. By the end of the night he was throwing his hands up saying he was about to lose his mind.

Came here to have a beer, decent tap list and great live music. With an awesome atmosphere on the back patio during the summer evenings. Didn’t try the food but it smelled good, I have to go back and try the food. But overall seemed like a cool place on the Keller strip.

Only true bar/​tavern in Keller. I love the neighborhood feel of the place and the fact that there is always someone you know around. I think the people that post negative reviews are expecting a chilis/​TGIF type environment, which is the exact opposite of what you should want in a real bar.

It’s a great low key place. It can get crowded but good place to go if you don’t want to go to a bar that is loud and a good place to pre-​game before going out. The drinks are cheap and decently priced. I will definitely go back. The only thing is that you can’t be in a rush when you stop in. This place is terribly understaffed and you will have to wait for a while. One time I waited and hour for my check and I never got it. I had to guess how much my bill was and left the money on the table. I just hope the server got the money.

The food is ok… fried for the most part but not bad. The beer selection is pretty good. The service is poor. Don’t get me wrong… If you are a buddy of one of the staff it is all good. hugs and high fives and quick refills. If you are new it is wait staff that look away as they walk past you. I don’t see myself wasting any more time here.

Staff was nice but service was not that great. Our drink order was wrong but we drank them anyway since it took so long to get them in the first place.
There was a toddler sitting at the bar which I am not even sure is legal? Then the mother scolded a guy sitting by them for cursing.
We got the appetizer sampler and each item was covered in buffalo wing sauce. If you love buffalo sauce then you will score in this plate. If not, you can eat the celery garnish like I did.

I have come to Keller Tavern 3 times. First time I was ignored when I first sat down at the bar for around 10−15minutes while the bartender talked to friends. Second time the waiter was was rude and only seemed to want to talk to friends and patrons. Third time, guess what??? We were ignored because the bartender was hitting on a girl.
One good things about the place is it has a nice back patio section. This back patio area is great for when your waiting 15 minutes to be noticed by an employee, or if you need to take a second to think about all the better places you could go.

Beer is great, but the blonde waitress seems more interested in chatting with her friends instead of doing her job. Had to go inside to order myself. Not the first time. Would be more likely to recommend this place if the staff was better.

I’ve been to Keller Tavern a few times and have enjoyed it each time.
their onion rings, cheesy crisscut fries and sweet potato tots are to die for! We’ve ordered their wings a couple of times and they’re awesome each time. I’ve ordered the honey lemon pepper wings (grilled wings here) which come served piping hot and tasty as can be.
The only thing on the menu that I wasn’t crazy about was their burger but i chalk that up to personal preference. although the burger was a good size (I’m guessing a half pound?) it was cooked a little dry in my opinion but maybe next time I give it a try they can cook it a little less well.
service was decent, food took a little time arriving but since we were hanging out with friends it didn’t matter much.
the noise level wasn’t very loud aside from the lone drunk in the corner who was screaming at the TV during the game. This place IMO is a place to hang out, not necessarily to go see a game even though they were playing the game on a few screens.
Be warned: parking is a bit of an issue since it shares a lot with quite a few other businesses
Keller Tavern isnt perfect but its a great addition the Keller which normally favors establishments like Chilis and Applebees.
