We really do enjoy the food, but take out takes way too long. They are very disorganized, we’ve ordered several times and it usually takes about 3 times longer than their estimate that they give you on the phone. If they tell you 10 to 15 minutes, expect to sit in the restaurant for about 25 minutes waiting on your food if you arrive on time. And don’t expect an apology they’re oblivious to the fact that they’ve made you wait. We keep going back just because the food is better than most around here!

Stopped by Friday after work. It was packed with a long wait so we sat at the bar. Great service. Two girls behind the bar were working their tails off and smiling the whole time. Food is good, not great. The brisket tacos were skimpy — maybe 3 tablespoons of meat with a large flour tortilla. Everything else was fairly tasty. Certainly will return.

Thanks to «reviewers» Melanie and Shawn. You two have great perspective. I was born and raised in Texas and have eaten Tex-Mex for over 40 years all over this great state, and at some of the most highly lauded restaurants in Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, Austin and DFW. Mexican Inn does what it does quite well and provides great, well flavored, fresh and authentic Tex-Mex. You may have an issue with the homemade chips, but seriously, their homemade and authentic. You have no idea how many places source their chips from suppliers and try to reheat them for service. Yes they have a limited menu, so get over it. The food quality and seasoning is better than any place this side of the metroplex. Great atmosphere, good service, excellent top shelf marg and $ 0.89 pralines. I’m not sure there’s a restaurant around that will charge you less than a buck for anything these days. Also, the salsa is excellent, the guacamole and caeso are good and the taco shells are the best I’ve ever had. The staff was very attentive, and this was at the peak of a Friday night rush. In conclusion, I’m so grateful that Mexican Inn has arrived in Keller and has firmly landed at the peak of the Tex-Mex experience in the«817»!

This place fires on all cylinders except for one. We visited for the first time the other night. Upon entry, I really liked the atmosphere. The bar has ample seating and multiple TV’s. We were promptly seated in the dining room and received stellar service throughout our visit. So why the two stars? The food. I just didn’t care for it. It did not seem fresh. The refried beans had a very odd flavor to them; I even asked my wife to taste them to validate my opinion and she concurred. My son ordered cheese nachos. The cheese nachos consisted of taco shells broken in half with melted cheddar as if they had been heated in a microwave. My son said the«chips» seemed stale. I really appreciate the fact that we are getting several new restaurants in Keller, and I was excited to see this place open up. But there are other very good options in the area. I’m afraid we will not be back.

Yuck. Just yuck. There are no other words. «Chips»(and I use that word lightly) were oily and frito-like, salsa was tasteless. Taco Bell is better. And much less expensive. Mediocre service, will never eat here again.

We were seated quickly. My server was not the friendliest person in the building. Kind of felt like she was new and uncomfortable. We had plenty of chips and salsa. The chips are not like regular tortilla chips, and the salsa taste like it came from a can. I asked the server if they had a particular item that is pretty standard at mexican restaurants, she said no… we don’t have much on our menu. She was right. My daughters and I ordered the fajitas and they came with 4 tortillas for us to share. We asked for more and it took forever. Chances are I would not go back to this restaurant.

I’ve lived down here in Texas for 6 years and this was by far, the worst Mexican /Tex-Mex I’ve had. Everything from the chips to the rice and beans was incredibly bland. I had the fajita chicken burrito and the chicken was similar to the quality you would get at Taco Bell. I know it’s hard to complain about free chips and salsa, but the chips are basically homemade Fritos. The salsa was good though. The service was ok and everyone seemed nice. Which seemed to somewhat makeup for the terrible food. There are seriously at least 15 other Mexican restaurants within a 3 mile radius of this place that are a thousand times better. Don’t waste your time.

Food was just okay. Not terrible… but not good either. Many better Mexican restaurant in the nearby vicinity with much better fare. The«chips» here are horrible! I would liken them to a bowl of Fritos. Will not be back.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Perhaps the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten! Taco Bell is 4 stars in comparison! Save your money and eat elsewhere. Plus first words out of our waitress mouth was that they ran out of tortillas so you couldn’t order burritos or quesadillas. Said they went to the«store» to get some.

Mexican food unfettered. There’s no peas, or carrots, or corn, or cilantro, or any other«filler» food added to their rice. It’s just a simple, moist, tomato base Mexican rice. The cheese and chili enchiladas are so delish. The plate came out piping hot and I ate every last bite. For those confused or worried about the chips because others say they look like Fritos — don’t. The tradition in my family(over 30 years) is to roll up their corn tortillas and dip it in the salsa! You’ll get full off those if you’re not careful!!! Mmmmm… We sat on the adorable little patio. The music playing was a Mexican/Caribbean mix. We drank Coronas with lime and felt like we were on vacation — in Keller, TX!!! Our server Carlos treated us so good. The service all around was excellent! Thank you Mexican Inn. Don’t change a thing. And welcome to the neighborhood!

The worst chips and salsa I have ever had. As soon as I saw the chips I knew I was in for a bad experience. They were basically Fritos. The salsa was just a can of tomato sauce emptied into a bowl with maybe a little salt and pepper added. The entrée, chicken fajitas, was disappointing, too. The chicken sat upon a bed of onions and two lonely pieces of bell pepper rested on the chicken. The only good part of the meal was the Coke. And I’m surprised that wasn’t flat.

What a fantastic place, I’ve never had such friendly servers in my life. The food is fabulous and the drinks even better. Great atmosphere. I love that they’re owned by Spring Creek BBQ too.

I admit I’m the daughter of a fabulous Mexican momma who cooked all her life for a family of 10. So I’m a bit biased and pretty tough to impress. So here’s my take: Salsa & chips – 2out of 5 – tasted like it came out of a can. Chips too thick – fresh, yeah maybe. We ordered beef fajitas – 3 out of 5. The best things – fresh corn tortillas served with lots of butter. Friendly staff – 5 Rice n beans – 4 out of 5 If I was rating according to tex-mex I would give a higher rating, but I’m not a cheese/queso lover. I like good, fresh cooked Mexican food, with various sauces, and more fresh ingredients. Would I return – yes, my hubby & daughter say NO

I love Mexican food… And I will say the staff was friendly but in this day and time what Mexican food restaurant doesn’t have a skinny margarita or tortilla soup??? Just very basic and bland tex mex food… Was hoping for more. I realize the chips are their signature but they are way to thick… Queso thick and bland as well! Really no skinny margarita? Please work on that!!!

The first thing I didn’t like where the chips, too thick and crumby. The salsa could use some peppers in it, and the queso blanco was pretty thick. The price is a bit high for the amount of food you get and the quality was average at best.(Taco Bueno quality). Service was good but was rushed with the check when they where almost empty. There are better places out there. Also, the menu is very small, only about 8 items for lunch and the same for dinner.
