One of our favorite places to eat. You have to get there early because they get busy fast. We love the armidillo eggs and fried mushrooms. They were featured on diners drive ins and dives. Their steaks are great and cooked perfect. Great customer service too. If you have never been here, they are definitely worth a visit, if not for anything else but the armidillo eggs.

The restaurant itself reflects the area it’s in(a shack near the ocean, with a sparse interior that isn’t going to be winning any design awards anytime soon), but don’t let the looks fool you because the food is excellent, if simple. If you’re expecting a high-end dining experience with fancy plating, this isn’t the place to go, but then again you’d be losing out. The steak isn’t fancy but is flavorful and incredibly juicy, and the brisket has a flavorful, smoky taste that is irresistible. Those two items alone make a visit worth it, but considering I didn’t have anything else, there might be other menu items worth trying that I didn’t have a chance to sample. Definitely worth a drive from Galveston or Houston for a visit, and you can visit the pier afterwards.

Came here at the request of a colleague who wanted a steak, but wanted to be near the boardwalk in Keemah. T Bones was recommend by the Hilton as a good steak place, not high end, but good steaks. We had 5 of us and it was a bit crowded at the table but all good. Got seated quick and got some tea and some had a cocktail. The waitress was a bit strung out but on the ball and very much like a diner server but nice and sweet . We all had steaks and just limited it to 2 marinated ribeye, 2 T bones and one filet. All were cooked perfect, we all do MR and they were quite good. Sure– I could say I cook better steaks for less at home but who can’t! You go for the atmosphere and food. Atmosphere was a bit loud for a week night and very casual so we were able to sit back and and enjoy the meal. The marinated steaks were a bit over cooked but tender and juicy so the guys were fine. I had a 16oz Tbone which was a good MR, a fair amount of fat around the edges but good taste. Tons of food all around, large glasses of Tea and cocktails were served in plastic cups(not best for me but ok here). This is a touristy place, HUGE when you go to the back, live band, more tables out side(but it was hot so we sat up front) and near the water.(marina). Will certainly come back when someone wants a steak but as a seafood guy I tend to hit Crazy Alans or Landry’s if you want more seafood. Good choice, a lot of fun. Looks like this was listed on Food Networks best around on Diners Drive Ins and Dives and it did not disappoint.

Overall pretty good food! Absolutely love the boudain balls. Would get a 4 star BUT the deserts suck. UPDATE: After realizing I was overcharged. For the Peach cobbler looked like it was thrown in the to go container. Just plain nasty. Leading to the overcharge of the peach cobbler that was supposed to be removed but actually charged for it. After all of this would have given them a 2 star BUT the manager Jay was phenomenal in taking my name and number and calling me back within 10 – 15 with correcting my final payment.

Happy vibe with good service! Fried pickles as an appetizer are never disappointing — light & crispy to the end. Armadillo eggs are amazeballs! Hubby loves the Chicken Fried Steak. Portions are more than generous. Monterrey Chicken is great! Peach Cobbler & Bread Pudding are wonderful, but difficult to save room.

I’ve been to T-Bone Tom’s a few times since relocating to the area almost a year ago and I view it as a safe — truly local — spot for people looking for a good meal,(mostly) good service and a fun experience, at times. Let’s get it out of the way that I couldn’t care less who has featured this(or any other restaurant) on the TV Food Network. That’s a neat thing and all, but my concern is more about my own experience there. And T-Bone Tom’s doesn’t disappoint. This restaurant sits just beyond the southern base of the Kemah Bridge in the shadows of several neon-lit seafood joints and the chain restaurants that occupy the boardwalk real estate next door. Its décor pretty much matches its name, with a few kitschy accoutrements on the wall and an exterior paint job that is reminiscent of something you’d see on ‘Green Acres.’ From the road, it looks like a standard restaurant footprint, but is deceivingly large, when you consider the additional outdoor seating. Wear your shorts, jeans and flip-flops and you’ll fit in just fine. I’ve never had table service here that was anything less than outstanding, whether it was on a Saturday night(when the place is packed) or on an early Tuesday afternoon. The folks who work the hostess desk outside can be a little snooty at times. Not the end of the world though. I’ve eaten the burgers, steak, chicken fried steak, pork chops and a variety of appetizers(not the ones the place is ‘famous’ for, believe it or not). Everything has always been(at least) good. The burgers are the big juicy ones with a rich flavor. Steaks(T-bone) are tender and the person working the grill seems to understand the difference between medium-rare and medium(a lot of cooks screw this up, but not T-Bone Tom’s). There’s a sign on the wall(it’s sort of Hee Haw-esque) that lays claim to T-Bone Tom’s chicken fried steak being the best in the area. Sorry, folks. That’s just not true in my opinion. It’s a decent chicken fried steak. The cream gravy is fine. The portion size is huge(like everything else here), but it’s not memorable. The one main dish that is memorable here is the fried pork chops(These are a five-star rating in themselves!) I’m an old school country cooking aficionado who’s eat enough fried pork chops through the years to float a battleship. The fried pork chops at T-Bone Tom’s rank among the best I’ve ever eaten — homemade or otherwise. Crisp exterior and tender succulent meat. And I believe they are one of the nightly specials, which saves enough money to have a slice of creamy sweet chocolate silk pie . All in all, T-Bone Tom’s is a good restaurant. It’s also a good place to share a plate of appetizers and swill cold longnecks while the nightly bands play on the outdoor stage. Want to leave a place full and happy? Skip the chains and head to T-Bone Tom’s.

I don’t usually give less than five stars on my reviews but, I’ll get to that in a bit. T-Bone Tom’s has kind of been an institution in the Kemah area for years. Even before the area exploded with the Boardwalk. I’ve been coming here since before the Boardwalk when it was still more or less a sleepy little fishing village with great on the water restaurant’s. T-Bone Tom’s was always my steak place since they were at one time pretty much a meat market too. They always had good food and good service! Great steaks, Ribeye’s, sirloins, and now a really great Porterhouse!!! They also have great appetizers such as seafood stuffed jalapeños or barbecue stuffed jalapeños, fried pickles, fried Mozzarella cheese. Great sandwiches, burgers, Barbeque, Chicken and Sausage gumbo is good. They have seafood too!!! Fried or broiled, shrimp, crawfish, oysters, platters!!! Great pork chops, chicken fried steaks, hamburger steaks. Just a really great assortment, they have you covered no matter what your in the mood for!!! Even Boiled Crawfish when in season! This last week my wife and I dropped in for lunch. There last waiting on us was very courteous as usual here. My wife ordered the 8 Fried Shrimp Dinner, while I decided the Fried Oysters were going to fit my bill for the day. I ordered my oysters with a salad with Ranch and steak fries. They put plenty of oysters on my plate to the point I had to take some home, as did the wife with her shrimp. They were very good except, while eating this particular time they had what I would call a really bad excess of oyster shell fried into the batter. That is usually not the case here. So, I don’t know if the cook or whoever was in a rush but, they could have culled the shell out of the oysters a lot better than they did!!! The wife thought she might have chipped a front tooth! Thank goodness she didn’t, but I’m pretty sure I chipped one of mine! Not bad mind you but, I can tell something want there before! All in all the good was good as usual, But I believe that when your not crowded as on a weekend you can make sure to clean the shell out of oysters before you get them!!! So if you order the fried oysters just be careful when you start eating your meal. This is really the first time I’ve had this happen and like I say I’ve been coming here since the mid 80’s.

Wonderful and delicious place to get some great BBQ food. I ordered pulled pork, Mac and cheese, and a lb of crawfish. The pulled pork was delicious and had a perfectly toasted bun. The Mac and cheese was extra cheesy. The crawfish tasted a little funny but still good and spicy like it’s supposed to be. I only remember the last name of the waitress(Bordreaux) and she was super nice. I tipped her $ 11 on a $ 17 order. We also were lucky enough to go on a Sunday where they have live music and it was great! It was a little hot so I suggest going as the sun is going down so you won’t sweat while you eat. I highly recommend this place.

This place is pretty much the definition of mediocre food. The food is similar in offerings to an American steakhouse or even a Cracker Barrel, except I would argue that Cracker Barrel may have marginally better food. My friends and I came here last night for dinner and there are many nice things that I can say about the place. It has a great location, plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, live music, some televisions for sports, and overall pretty good service. The ambiance is like a beach/tiki vibe. The band they had playing was actually pretty fantastic. The televisions for sports were not positioned in a way where all tables could watch, but considering this isn’t a sports bar, I won’t fault them for that. The part that sticks out is how generic the food was for a place that had been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives or whatever that show is called. My table got the Armadillo Eggs, Boudin Balls, and the fried pickles. The Armadillo eggs were supposed to be a featured DDD appetizer, but it really wasn’t anything special. It had a good jalapeño flavor to it and it was a large serving, but the brisket wasn’t amazing. Overall, the appetizer was a pretty cool idea though and relatively tasty, I was just expecting more. The boudin balls didn’t really have a flavor. Just fried. I got the country fried steak with potato salad and corn and I can admit here that the fried steak was actually pretty tasty and so were the side dishes. Again, I was just expecting amazing and instead it was good. That is why I am giving the place a 3 star, but since the things I ordered weren’t that expensive, I would consider returning if other people wanted to. Overall, I would probably look for a different place to eat though.

Came here today with my two sons and brother. We were all from out of town. Place is really nice and found out it was on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Two of us had a cup of gumbo. Really good! Some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I had the fried oyster basket. I was really disappointed in the oysters. They were VERY bland. No taste at all in the batter. Needed seasoning and at minimum some salt. One of my sons tried my oysters and said the same thing. We both had a bad taste from the oysters in our mouth for several hours. Really disappointed when I wanted good seafood. Also so close to good crawfish and thy don’t offer a crawfish basket or Po Boy???

Service was good, friendly staff. I ordered the Ribeye with fried shrimp. Ribeye was gross! I was so disappointed that I paid $ 25 for it. Anyone that knows steak knows that taste,(or there lack of) when it’s been frozen and then thawed by microwave. It kills the flavor in the steak, leaving you with a bland piece of meat. However, some people are ok with this process of thawing meat, a true foodie will not approve. Please don’t let this review discourage you from eating here, the rest of the meal was descent. Give it a try and write your own thoughts. Hope this was helpful.

Things have obviously drastically changed at this place. Definitely no longer the place you may have heard about on TV. Wish I would have cooked my own steak at home! To begin, I sat at the outside bar. The only reason I’m even giving it two stars is because the bartender gave decent service. I ordered a 24 oz. medium well $ 33 Porterhouse steak, a fully loaded baked potato, and a dinner salad. The salad they brought me was FULL of cheap iceberg lettuce, and little else. The«fully loaded baked potato» I ordered was a cold bare naked potato with absolutely nothing in it. They put minuscule little plastic containers on the side containing about one third the amount of what they should have put in the baked potato in the first place! And the medium well $ 3324 oz Porterhouse steak I ordered? It was well done, unseasoned and was as stiff as a well done round steak! Proof positive, aliens are among us!(In the kitchen!) When I spoke to a manager and told her I was asking her for nothing, but I just wanted to tell her about my experience, nothing is exactly what I got! She just shook her head to everything I said, and told me she would bring it up at the next manager’s meeting. Whoop-T-Do! If I go again, it will be for the outside entertainment(of which there was none!), drink a couple of beers, and leave!

This was our first visit. It was«ok» nothing outstanding. We had the Southern Catfish dinner, fish was cold, steak fries were wonderful, coleslaw was good. Finished with key lime pie that was ok too. Another person at our table had the ribeye, and someone else had the chicken fried steak. Chicken fried steak won the table hands down. Armadillos eggs were unique, but again was just okay. After dinner we moved to the patio to listen to the band. Was hard to get a drink and had to go up to the bar to get our second round. On this night(Wednesday, Dec 29) it was definitely a family atmosphere and if you weren’t eating out there you were ignored. Will give them another try this summer, but located so close to the Landry restaurants they need to improve service to keep up.

One of the best barbecue joints I’ve been to. You HAVE to try the Armadillo eggs. It does get full like most good places but they have plenty of space. They have 3 sections total. Their brisket was not dry like most briskest I’ve tried. If you get there later at night they will not have a full menu.

If you know what to get here it’s excellent(or was a few years ago). For many years we ate here every 2 – 3 weeks on Friday or Saturday night. Neither of us is high on their barbecue, but everything else we’ve had here was good. We hadn’t been here it probably three years. With the arrival of the Kemah Boardwalk and I’m not sure what else, the traffic is horrific, so we don’t come any more. We were intending to get the Monday meatloaf at Seabrook Classic Café and it was closed for remodeling so we decided to come here. When we used to come we got the chicken fried steak most frequently(theirs is one of the two best in the Clear Lake area) or a tenderloin or rib-eye steak. Instead of a salad we got hush-puppies early and munched on them ’til the meal came. Seems like there was something else we got occasionally, but it escapes me now. Today we lunched on the armadillo eggs — jalapenos stuffed with BBQ and batter fried. I regretted this choice later because my wife didn’t like them. I did, but the jalapenos were very hot. ___ We’ve Eaten Out Every Meal for more than 25 years

A casual country style bar and restaurant. Great venue for music and drink. Food is better than most bars. Steak is the specialty. Didn’t have one since I am a seafood chicken eater. Have heard they Te good along with the BBQ. Only had calamari on this visit. The calamari had a light breading and was tender. Quantity was very good for the price. This place has a great county atmosphere and is very casual. Wait staff are so good group of people that make sure you are taken care of.

This has to be my favorite place I’ve eaten at since moving to Texas. I’m usually more excited about the sides. But at T-bones I go just to fill up on their meat. We usually get the Tom’s Campfire for the appetizer. It’s so cute and fun. It’s a couple strips of steak they you get to cook on a little mini sterno grill. I usually end up with the 2 meat plate with their housemade sausage and pull pork topped with onions and jalapeños. I’ve never had a bad meal or experience there. Don’t forget about those amazing Sangria Margaritas! Make sure to check out the backyard seating.

The armadillo eggs aren’t as bad as people make them out to be… though for some reason it seems we got pulled pork rather than brisket… Whatever, it still tasted pretty decent. I ordered the three-meat platter: brisket, ribs, and pulled pork, with a side of pinto beans and salad. Salad is salad. Pinto beans however, gave a slightly toxic odor. based off of the liquid it was in I believe? I compare my pinto beans with the ones at chipotle, which don’t smell like anything, and I mean, pinto beans should just taste like pinto beans right? True, but the ones here smelled rather off-putting. Main star of the three-meat plate is the meat though right? Well. Pulled pork wasn’t bad. They give you bbq sauce on the side to put in as much as you want. On a moist scale of 1 – 10 it was a 5, on the tenderness scale, it was a 7. This just means that they left it out for a bit and had all the moisture taken away by its surroundings, but it was still originally cooked alright. Now, the brisket… was absolutely garbage. That moistness scale? 1. Not a 0, but a 1. A 0 would be cardboard level, but I mean I was still able to bite into it without it making a *snap* sound. Problem was, it LOOKED like it was cooked right but it tasted like it was left out for a while. At this point I was too full to eat the ribs, so i decided to take it home. Before that however, I cut them into pieces for easy microwaving later on. Microwaving the ribs was a fantastic decision, because the moist scale was probably at an 8 or 9, and it fell apart and looked completely different from when I cut it in the restaurant. The platter portioning was pretty fair btw, for $ 15. Forgot how much the armadillo eggs were but they were slightly filling too. So what to take home from this? If you’re ordering the meat platter, don’t eat it. Take it home and microwave it back up because you’re gonna be eating dry animal muscle at the restaurant ;}

It’s been showcased on Diner’s, Drive-Ins & Dives & it’s the very first restaurant I ate at in Texas. I’ve been here many time & everything has been consistent. The restaurant itself has a down home feel to it. Décor is country & welcoming with vinyl plaid table cloths. The staff are high energy, attentive, efficient & know their product. The meat case is a nice display. All orders can be taking to go or you can order in advance to pick it up & head home. The wait time can be long on weekends so be prepared for that. The outdoor patio is large & can be nice when the weather isn’t too hot & the mosquitos aren’t raging. I HATE sitting out there. Normally a live band would add some life to a restaurant however here they kill any conversation you are possibly trying to have since it’s so damn loud. It’s annoying & unpleasant, last time I sat outside I wasn’t even able to here to the person next to me or in from of me. My throat was sore & I had a killer headache without the benefits of having a drink. They do all of their meat grinding & stuff the sausages in house. The Armadillo eggs(4/order) are awesome, it’s shredded brisket meat stuffed in jalapeño, battered & deep fried. They are very filling, there’s no way 2 people can finish them & eat a full meal as well. I order them when there’s 2 – 3 people dining with me. My 2 favorite dishes are the brisket & sausage(2 meat platter) & the shrimp po’boy. The brisket comes in regular or lean. It’s moist & is served with the home made BBQ sauce. As for the po’boy, I didn’t grow up with them so I enjoy discovering the many different options. The shrimp is not overcooked & is stuffed in a thick buttered toasted bun. The blackened catfish(2 filets) is another meal that’s popular with my spouse, it’s very good. Served with rice & clairified butter. Most dishes here are served with 1 side of your choice & a salad or 2 side of your choice. The pork chops(2) special on Wednesday is solid & flavorful. They offer 16 different sides so you have plenty to choose from. The coleslaw is my favorite but the fried okra, the grilled potatoes, the green beans, the corn & the steak fries are good options as well. The key lime pie is the best dessert, the others are not worth it in my opinion. They have different specials every Mon-Fri for lunch & diner where the pricing on meals is reduced. Happy hour is availavle but I’ve never been to it. They have a smaller menu that they offer as of 10:00pm so if you head there after that time keep in mind the dish you’ve been craving might not be avaialble to order. It is a little pricey for what I would normally pay for this kind of place.

Tried out this place last night, we saw the reviews for armadillo eggs and had to try it… definite must. It was fried stuffed jalapeño with brisket, so moist and they were pretty big. We had the sausage also which was good. Calamari batter was light and good. I ordered the schooner platter with fried oysters, shrimp, and catfish. After all of the apps, I was getting so full but wanted to try the shark eggs that was in the platter, which were a twist from the armadillo eggs with crab cake inside. My husband got the pig platter and it was good but had a lot of fat in it. Our sides were good, fried okra was lightly battered and the mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. We also had corn and pinto beans which were very good.

T-Bone Tom’s is a steakhouse In Kemah that has expanded into a tourist trap. It’s been featured on the Food Network for having some unique items. It does have a laid back beach vibe, live music, plenty of beer, and lots of people. My Overall Rating — 2 ½ Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food) Atmosphere — T-Bone Tom’s growth over the years has transformed it from a traditional steakhouse into an indoor/outdoor complex that seems stapled together. The original restaurant still remains, but there is also an outdoor pavilion that is covered. The live music stage is also located here, and on weekends you’ll find tons of people, a long wait, and Jimmy Buffett style bands. Just keep in mind in the summer it can get hot. Also, what’s weird(dumb even) is that there is a separate waiting list for each part of the restaurant. So if you want to sit inside, there’s a list for that. If you want outside, there’s a different list. First available? You have to put your name on every list. ½ Star. Service — But I will say our server was awesome. We had a decent size group, but she was a certified professional with an impeccable memory. She made great suggestions, remembered all our orders, set expectations on when the food was coming out, made sure our drinks were filled. She even put in an extra order for a person in our party who mis-ordered, and didn’t charge us for it. 1 Star. Food — I’ll be honest with you, we came to T-Bone Tom’s because it was featured on Diners Drive-ins & Dives. Darn you Guy Fieri. We ordered the featured Armadillo Eggs. This is a deep fried jalapeño stuffed with smoked brisket served with ranch. It was fun to eat, but the brisket inside tasted like your average quality brisket. The chicken fried steak was solid. You get a nice size steak, perfectly pounded & fried. The chicken fried breading wasn’t too thick, nor was the gravy to overpowering. We ordered a ribeye that was a bit thin & overdone, but the flavor was good. Overall the meal was good not great. The chicken fried steak was solid but I would skip the DDD featured Armadillo Eggs in the future. 1 Star. Will I Return? — No. It’s a tourist trap so if you’re looking to actually enjoy a meal I would look somewhere else. Still, it’s a great venue for live music, our server was great, and there are some quality items on the menu. Just not quality enough for me to come back. No Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

Lets get straight to the point. Armadillo Eggs blew my mind. It was amazing. Brisket filling was on point and the slight kick from the jalapeños were perfect together. The bread batter was just as good as the filling inside. Ate two of them babies and I was almost full already. The Seafood PLatter was stuffed with food. The fried catfish was legend… wait for it… wait for it… wait for it… DARYYYY it was so good, melted in my mouth. Fried shrimp and oyster were pretty good too. The hush puppies could have had a little more flavor, and the fried okra wasn’t up to texture for me but it was aighttt. Must take the family hereeee

Been coming to TBT for many years. Warning. Be prepared. This place is always super busy. Expect loud atmosphere, good food & live music on some days. Inside seating is limited but, the outside patio has lots of covered seating w/many fans blowing. During the week is busy but, not as crazy as the weekends. They have lunch specials also. They will accommodate large party’s but, be prepared to wait… Business is booming! My recent visit we had a party of 30& Kenny was our server & he was very personable, remembered all our names & done a amazing job servicing a party that large. I went to T-bone Tom’s in a huge group of 30 people in the beginning of June. The evening weather was pretty nice, so we opted to sit in the back patio next to the live band. Also, that’s sort of the only place that would fit our huge group. It was very busy in the back, so it actually did take a while for a server to get to us. But, this is forgivable because group was so large and they were in a dinner rush as well. Before I say anything about the food, I have to talk about how loud the live music was. It is definitely nice to have a live band, but it is awful when you can’t communicate with the person next to you. It is really cute and nice to see old couples two-stepping and dancing to the band, but it would be better if I could talk to my friends instead of watch people in silence. I cannot stay silent that long! Anyways, the food was alright. To me, it was not anything that special. I had the porterhouse steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The mashed potatoes were pretty standard and nothing about that side really wowed me. The green beans were actually quite good and they are cooked with bacon. They aren’t your standard canned beans, which is awesome! The steak was well-cooked and tender. But, that’s how a steak should be! Right? After all of this food, I ended up getting sick that evening with some food bug. I felt completely fine before my meal. But, I was not feeling very ill after it. I’m not sure what hit me. But, it didn’t seem to hit anyone else in my group though.

On the way back from beach camping we met my family here and I didn’t know what to expect when I drove up. The front entrance on the driveway is very steep so, I recommend using one of the side entrances. There are also multiple doors that you can enter through and inside seating as well as an expansive back patio so if you are meeting people you should decide on where you are going to meet/sit! I was surprised how packed this place was on a Sunday so, I knew we were off to a good start. There aren’t any frills here, just great cooking. We sat inside and our server quickly came over to offer us drinks and appetizers. Our party arrived and we ordered! I chose the grilled shrimp platter that came served on rice with your choice of 2 sides and drawn butter. I chose the coleslaw and a side salad with bleu cheese. Grilled Shrimp: I think there could have been some more flavor but, the shrimp was cooked really well! Rice: It had chorizo in it, I think, which gave it that nice spicy flavor. It was soft and the flavors blended well with the shrimp to give it that little something extra! Coleslaw: Not the best I have had but, it was fresh, creamy and well flavored. Butter: I actually think it was melted margarine because it didn’t have that creamy drawn butter flavor. That was a bit disappointing. Salad with Bleu Cheese: I wish I could comment on it however, it was never delivered to me! My relatives also got a bread pudding and even though I didn’t taste it because I am not a dessert person it came out piping hot and it was enough for 6 people to share! Overall I thought the food was good and the service was decent even though our server must have been new she delivered great service. I say she was new because she was a bit shaky on which beverages they offered. The price was very fair for the portion sizes and the patio was huge!

My group was looking for some good dinner locations and T-bone Tom’s looked to be a good choice based on Unilocal’s 4 star overall rating. Décor was pretty touristy(not necessarily a bad thing), and the place seemed like a nice spot for vacationers. My group was seated at the rear open area where the live band was playing, and the band and was really loud. The volume distracted me and my table from having any meaningful conversations. It was uderstandable that some noise would be accompanied by sitting near the band, but it was quite annoying not to be able to hear somebody sitting just 2 feet away. Service was erratic. Our waitress was friendly but seemed to be pretty swamped with customers which resulted in two of our appetizer orders coming out incorrectly. In addition drinks and food came out fairly slow. It took just about 30 minutes to get our entrees. Thankfully the food was pretty good, something which I was a little concerned about considering the busy atmosphere and the service up to that point. My blackened Catfish had nice spicy seasoning and was still moist inside. Tip…don’t bother with the piece of Texas toast they serve as it was nearly transparent; probably having been saturated with butter or margarine. The bed of rice the blackened Catfish was nestled on was tasty with bits of beef, peas, and a hint of Cajun like seasoning. Nowadays I don’t eat much rice, so this was a nice treat. My friends ordered the Tom’s Ribeye which is described as being a marinated ribeye. I sampled a decent portion and it was pretty good. The marinade had a slight sweet and tangy balsamic quality to it. Appetizers were actually the tastiest of the food we had in my opinion. Armadillo Eggs, essentially Jalapeño poppers with pulled pork insideZip, were yummy and fried perfectly. The pulled pork inside was really good which was surprising for a restaurant that doesn’t really specialize in BBQ. We also tried the Shark Eggs which are like seafood croquettes. Again perfectly fried with fresh seafood nestled inside).
