There are no words to explain the level of service Dick’s Pool Repair offers… at least none that I would express on the world wide web. I will tell our story and you decide. The Story begins with prep for the summer and that included repairs to the pool with thoughts of converting the pool to saltwater. We searched the usual sites, «googled near us, redbeacon and angie’s list» after calling several and leaving messages, one calls back that afternoon, Dick’s Pool Repair, tells us he can come out on Sunday. AWESOME. Sunday comes, the time comes and no Dick, we called and he was running late…45mins later from a 20min drive Dick shows up. Next door neighbor, sweet jolly grandpa type with a sunburn and a cool handlebar mustache. Great personality, really laid back… used car salesman, we found out later. He said that Sunday, you guys wanna save money, drain it I’ll loan you the pump and you clean it, I’ll get you a discount on a saltwater pump, install it and show you how to run it. You WILLBE up and running by Wednesday. So we did, but he did not. A job that was suppose to take 3 days took 4 ½ weeks to complete. O our part was done that following Saturday, he was suppose to be there to install the upcoming Monday. NOPE! NOCALLNOSHOW, out of trust on a handshake, we made the fatal mistake of paying him for the pump before he had it or installed it. The nightmare continues, it took two weeks for him to show, claimed he had been ill. But during that two weeks NOCOMMUNICATION, NONE! We left messages and texts that were never answered. He finally emerged and each time he said he was coming out to work he didn’t, there was an excuse for everything or he would send some other guy whom we knew nothing about, unannounced to drop off salt, or shock anywhere. It was 2 days before the 4th of July and I had had enough, I called him and he actually answered and I raised my voice a few times and told him this needed to be done before the 4th no buts about it! He came out and did the work without telling anyone he was coming… as usual. After it was done, he tried to leave without giving us a receipt which we had asked for from the beginning as well as the paperwork for the warranty, which we still don’t have. And O, the so called lesson on how to properly operate and maintain the balance of the pool… well he left that to us to learn from a dvd he created that leads you to a series of dvds you must purchase from him. His words at the end of this nightmare were, «if I taught you in person, how to operate and maintain your pool I would have to charge a fee.» And the warranty, supposedly a year, but on futher examination of this unit… Its used, so probably a lemon and we were dooped. I write this review so no one else falls prey to the DICKS of the world! And never trust a sweet smile. I wouldn’t rate this business but on Unilocal,you have to rate to post.
