Golden Corral Restaurant

Our first time at this particular location. I don’t think I’ve eaten at a Golden Corral in at least 10 years. I had forgotten they serve breakfast. The buffet is quite long with dozens of choices to pick from. I was surprised to see that you can get lunch and dinner items at 830am. But at any rate it was a good sized buffet. The quality could of been better, but consider they have are putting everything out in bulk. Speed will trump quality. The bacon was probably the biggest victim. Not a piece was left unburnt. The eggs were obviously liquid egg. Overall, the food was average and I would come back because if you price it to Waffle House, your paying about the same amount but you get to pick more of what you want.

Excellent fried catfish the staff and crew make a good attempt to keep the food trays filled fried chicken is great and I cannot believe how tender the BBQ ribs were the meat fell off the bone ribs were very tender the side items on the average were very good the warm rolls wonderful of course there are some items that I found I did not care for however, there are more than enough other items to make up for the one that did not like. The one negative situation was when I asked for pico de gallo from the lady at the salad bar counter she told me there was none left it was early in the evening and I found that strange. I talked to the manager he immediately told me he was going to talk to her because he said they should have been prepping those items and had more available he immediately got her on to making more for the night all of that didn’t help with what I needed at the moment but it just goes to show there are always going to be lazy employees no matter where you go but the rest of the employees were bending over backwards to help give me food take my plates away and even go to the back kitchen when I asked for a special request such as my kids wanted chicken legs and they were out at the moment so they went to the back and made sure they brought me platter of chicken legs for my children when they were finished frying so how can i really complain overall it was an exceptional amount of food and for the price it was very fair now here is also another gauge I went a couple days later down the street to the Amigos Mexican food buffet within a half a block of the Golden Corral talk about horrible the food was tasteless and bland my guest said that we should have gone to Golden Corral and I agreed. Bottom line is a good fair amount of food for a decent price and some of those food items I found to be exceptional especially the catfish chicken and ribs I hope this review helps I hope you find it a fair evaluation if you decide to go to the Golden Corral.

Used to be very good. Mainly if your at another location anywhere else (especially in MS.) this place is great.
But not here. Mainly the up-​keep of the place, and customer base. Child fingers in the food… Family trains (small soccer teams in line), cold bread to the table, food is basic at best doesn’t seem to fresh. If you’ve been to a Golden Corral anywhere else and are expecting the same quality, think again.

I haven’t been here for years but it was actually quite good. They had a lady working the grill that was creating steaks to order. Their baby back ribs or fall off the bone tender. I found a lot of really good food options and they even had cotton candy as a dessert option for the kids. Not bad.

NASTY, crowded, dirty floors behind the food stations and where the veggies are, wet dirty floors, the food containers on the buffet are dirty, lettuce is old and soggy, and the food it isn’t really any good… service sucks too. I tried once, gave it a second chance and BYE BYE ! Never again! How can it be so packed I have no idea!

I went Wed Feb 18, 2015 around 6:30 pm. The food was hot and fresh. They seems understaffed. I had to track down my waitress for our refills. The manager kept screaming on the microphone for people to escort their children to the buffet line. I understand this is important for the safety of the children, but there is no reason to scream at everyone like their are stupid. It was extremely rude and uncouth. I’m not sure if I will ever return to this location.

I’ll go to Golden Corral for convenience as I’ve yet to find one I could say much good about. This store is different. The people are great, the service is good, and the food is surprisingly tasty. I’m certain there are some folks in this kitchen that are cooking as if their family were the guests.

We used. to go all the time when they first opened but it got nasty, stopped going for awhile, decide to try again when management changed, you got to be kidding me it was way worse. I’ve been to other G C. s and they. were clean and good, this one stinks like sour milk and bathrooms. smell like opened sewer. The food bar is messy. I could go on about food in detail but ill get myself sick. Staff ok considering what they got to work with .They afraid to come to table because they know they is going to be complaining. just dont waste tour time, money, or toilet paper

To start this review I will state that Most of the golden corral restaurants I have been to across the nation were pretty decent. I only went here tonight because my best friends father decided to have his birthday party here. I have actually been here once before and I despised the experience. This night was just as bad.
The service was alright, we had one waitress and there were 20 people in our group. Nobody helped her out and I feel like she was pretty overwhelmed by all of us. But she operated okay given the circumstances.
The food was terrible! Everything was bland, flavorless, and just gross. The crabcakes tasted like crap instead of crab. The bourbon street chicken had been sitting out too long. The mashed potatoes had lumps. The salad bar was pretty sorry too. I promise you that the ingredients were not fresh. Overall the food was gross and tasteless.
The restaurant itself was nasty. I understand the fact that the place was packed with people but they should have had at least one person cleaning up. The restaurant had lots of people tripping over themselves to grab food. It was a real cluster Fuck trying to get by people who jump in and out of your way just to grab one thing. My biggest pet peeve is when I saw some kids touching the food at the buffet with their bare hands and then leaving it there. Not a very sanitary thing I happen to witness. After what I witnessed tonight I don’t think I want to go back there anymore.
In short bad food, mediocre service, unsanitary dining conditions. This place is pretty piss poor even for a chain restaurant.

When you come her you know what your getting. It ain’t fancy but it’s okay. On this visit the steak was better then usual. Waitress was friendly.

Food here is always fresh and hot. Place is always PACKED! A testament to their low prices and great selection I can only assume. Were this based on food alone I would give it 5 stars.
The place is always so busy and so packed you are running into people and have very little space at your own table without knocking into the table behind you. Staff are courteous the majority of the time. Bathrooms always need attention.
Wish desserts where a bit more abundant.
Food is totally worth the price and most days worth the fight to get in the door and to a table.
Might I add that though the staff is wonderful the majority of the time, most of the patrons are just awful! This place attracts some real trash sometimes. They literally can act like they are starving and rushing for their last meal. Rude, rude, rude! If that alone wasn’t an issue I would make it 4 stars.

Today was a pretty decent one and i must say the food was good. I arrived round 4:50 pm and the saints were playing so all was well. food was hot and it was neat. i cant tell you how many times i came here round 7 – 8 pm and the food was cold and picked over. my waiter was ok and i really enjoyed the quietness and small crowd. I gave it a 3 cause waiter was mediocre.

Hit the place for breakfast on Sunday, and was regretting it the rest of the day. It’s a good thing that my plans for the day ended up canceled, because I spent a sizable portion of the afternoon in the can.

Pulling up in the parking lot one must wonder how this parking lot always seems to be full? Every space is usually taken and sometimes a whole bus arrives (thats always lovely to wait behind). The first thing you notice when u walk in the door is the handprints all over the window and unattended children running around like maniacs. Then an angry over worked employee gets on the intercom and said in English & Spanish «to leave no kids unattended at the buffet.» Honestly I come here to people watch. It’s about equivalent to walking down canal st. It’s entertaining, funny, and gross to put it mildly. The tables are always dirty and greasy. Carpet is filled with crumbs. The 1990s style plates and forks looks like they just have been put through a dishwasher and not scrubbed. The special that night was baby back ribs and basically 12 ribs come out and 2 people get served and then you have to wait 20 more min for the next slab to be put out. So I went for the steak. You basically have to tell them you want that thing bleeding because they don’t know the definition of «rare». In fact the only way they know how to cook any meat is «well done.» I suppose its to keep the bacteria count down. When I cut into that steak it was pure fat and ligament. I couldn’t eat a steak for a week after that. Usually the server is no where to be found and stacks of dishes left piled up to the ceiling. I go behind the counter and fill my own drink. Then i am mad because its like flooded out over there with unknown liquids and crumbs and i have sandals on. The fruit has fruit flies. The chocolate fountain is always malfunctioning. The bathrooms is a NO go!!! Filled with like packs of zombies and horses. I think the bathrooms on bourbon are cleaner. It’s basically the most disgusting buffet you will ever go to. As you walk out prepare to enjoy the silence outside because it is so loud in there your ears are left ringing.

When it comes to chain buffets your expectations are not high to begin with. This place is no exception, first impression is there not that clean, even had people going through plates because some were not clean. I don’t understand the point of servers if they only bring drinks, and our server kept disappearing we went through our entire meal before i got pissed off enough to go up the drink machine and attempt to get a refill. Then did someone ask if i wanted refills. I hate to waste food, but also half of everything i got on my plate i ended up throwing out. Fish had a off taste to it, dirty rice was nasty, Pizza was ok etc… everything was hit or miss. Felt over crowded and not enough fresh food and it was pre dinner around 4pm. We only went here because we were passing by and said why not give them another chance. Well we learned our lesson so we probably never going back to this place unless we really hungry and don’t care about the quality of food or service.

I came to eat here yesterday, Sept. 11, 2011. I’m not really into buffets but I got to say that this golden corral is pretty decent for a buffet. A lot of their food is tasty and fresh. I like their baked chicken. The price was cheap.
Oh, the first time I came here was a few years ago. Their food was horrible at that time. I guess now its gotten a lot better in 2011. Although their decoration stayed the same. The carpet, lighting, and chair looks outdated.

One of the best buffets in kenner. they have a good variety of food to chose from like Bbq chicken, steak and roast.

It is what it is cheap fast and ok!

It was sooooooo much nicer when it was built, now it’s fell into a huge huge bottomless pit of despair that it will most likely never leave.
Not that I personally even like these kinds of buffet’s anymore, but when I am forced to eat at one, I review them for what they are accordingly. This place fails in all categories.
1) Horrible tasting food and selection
2) A staff that would rather be at home picking boogers out their nose than attending to you
3) Sticky tables & chairs are a no no.
So if you ever gots to eat here, BEWARE.
