So coming from Cincinnati Ohio(where the original Tom+Chee started) I was pleasantly surprised and shocked to find out they had shops down here. The shops do not disappoint ! Though a lot more commercialized inside(the original is a kind of hole in the wall in the OTR *cincinnati* a real mom and pop kind of feel to it). The sandwiches are still amazing, have yet to try one I didn’t like(including the doughnut ones– delicious !). You really can’t go wrong here. It’s comfort food on a whole new level(take this from the very hungry pregnant woman waiting for them to open in one hour…). Yes when you see a grilled cheese for $ 5 – 9 you might think … Wait a minute … But trust me they are worth it and they are very filling!

This place has the strangest«grilled cheese» sandwiches you have ever tried. I mean, who ever heard of putting macaroni and cheese onto a sandwich with pepperoni and calling that a «grilled cheese»?!? And yet, that’s exactly what I had today. They called it a Pizza Mac, and it was amazing! They also have lots of other sandwiches on their menu, including a number of sandwiches which feature donuts cut in half and grilled with toppings in between the two halves. I mean, blueberry lemonade? Cookie dough?!? I don’t know who thinks these crazy ideas up, but they need to keep at it. This place is a great little spot for a quick meal that’s quite tasty. I’m sure it’s not the most healthy I could possibly eat, but it’s definitely comfort food.

WOW, we absolutely love this place, while this is a franchise the owner of this location is typically at the restaurant keeping their standards high, the food tasting great and in the dinning area meeting and taking to his customers! They are very respectful to their employee’s and keep the place fun and energetic. You can have almost anything you can imaging on you grilled cheese sandwich or doughnut!!! They have gluten free options and have a separate grill for preparing items for people with food allergies! I feel separate grill is a wonderful thing to have as one of my children, who LOVES Tom + Chee is allergic to one of the frequently used ingredients here! In addition to the three different tomato soups they always carry they also have a daily special soup which are great! Grilled Cheese and soup are not just for rainy days our kids want it every day!

Food was so bland, no flavor. Was so excited to try this place and now I’ll never go back. Grease ball artery clogged.

Good food, but priced a little high for what it is. If the prices were slightly lower, it might be a 4*. I’d probably give them a 3.5* if I could. None of the food stands out, but sometimes that’s just what you want for lunch.

I’ve been here at least 4 times and each time was a treat. The staff was earnest, fast and friendly. The food was delicious and well prepared. I definitely recommend checking them out. The sandwiches are great, but the real deal is in the desserts. Super rich, but really yummy.

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch. We split a bowl of the chunky tomato soup and each had a sandwich. The soup was good, hearty and full of tomato chunks. It was perhaps a bit over-salted and the garlic, as advertised, was prevalent on the taste buds. As it turned out, we each ordered the identical cheddar-bacon-rye sandwich. Sadly, the resulting offerings were NOT identical. My sandwich had plenty of cheese; my wife’s actually had empty spots on the bread. Her sandwich had far more bacon than mine, or at least it was better distributed. Both sandwiches were grilled well, but the inconsistent fillings were just not acceptable. For the price, this was quite a tasty lunch, but the food prep standards need to be better enforced.

Despite being lactose intolerant, I must say I love all things cheese. My two favorites being macaroni and cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches. So imagine my surprise when my sister took me to this place and I found I could get both of my two favorite things combined! I got the mac and cheese grilled cheese w/a cup of the creamy tomato basil soup. The sandwich was a little greasy but easily something you can overlook. For dessert she and I both split the a mint Summer’s night dream, basically a deep fried donut with cheese, strawberries and a mint chocolate mousse. Everything that’s wrong w/America and it was so so good. It was a little pricey but definitely a unique experience.

Wife and I love grilled cheese sandwiches and bowls of tomato soup. A place that specializes in both! Had the mushroom grilled cheese and bowl of soup and was just what I was looking for! Wife got some hot version that I assume tasted good because it was to hot for me! Honestly the only knock on it was I wanted just a bit more for my money. Quality seemed their, just quality was slightly smaller than I hoped. Overall however, we plan to go back!

First of all why didn’t I think of this concept? There are few things more comforting or that invoke childhood memories like a grilled cheese sandwich. This place has an entire menu based around grilled cheese sandwiches. You can get meat in your grilled cheese, vegetables, or fancy cheese. You can dip your sandwich in tomato soup, get a cup of soup or a bowl. Heck you can even have a grilled cheese donut. They have salads and feature daily soups other than the regular tomato soup options. They have dessert donuts too. This is a great place to take your kids or just have simple meal. They have vegan and gluten free options well.

There is something so comforting about the simplicity of a gooey grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of piping hot tomato soup. A meal so versatile it can enjoyed on a rainy, snowy, sunny, warm or frigid day. I think most of us grew up on grilled cheese sandwiches though for me personally, tomato soup became an acquired taste as I grew into adulthood. Now I love it. While on a recent trip in Georgia I accidently stumbled upon Tom+Chee. An entire restaurant dedicated to the art of a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. How simple. Choose from a menu of sandwiches ranging from the Flying Pig(roasted turkey, bacon and pickles) to the Pepp+Chee(pepperoni), or create your own creation from a list of various breads, meats, veggies and cheeses. And then there are extras you can add like sweet hot mustard, blueberry compote or potato chips. There is also an option for Vegan cheese for non-dairy lovers. I ordered the Swiss+Shroom with mushrooms, onions and swiss cheese on pumpernickel rye bread. And I added potato chips. Unbelievably simple. Unbelievably delicious. I tried the creamy tomato basil soup, one of three tomato soups offered on the menu. I thought the soup was fantastic– so comforting and satisfying. Other soup options include chunky tomato basil and the always popular classic tomato. My date Chad loved his Hippy+Chee — a creation with hummus, cucumbers, mixed greens, diced tomatoes, wheat berry and cheddar cheese. Hummus on grilled cheese? Don’t knock it until you try it– an amazing combination. However, the crème de la crème of Tom+Chee, perhaps the one thing they are most famous for– the Grilled Cheese Donut. There is an entire menu of grilled cheese donut creations. I persuaded Chad to try one and he chose the Mint Summer’s Night — chocolate mascarpone with fresh strawberries, chocolate mint candy and Swiss cheese grilled between two glazed donuts. The Swiss cheese was an interesting contrast to the other sweet ingredients– it was minty and hearty. I ordered the Strawberry Lemonade Grilled Cheese Donut — one of the most unique and tastiest dishes I have experienced in a long time. Candied lemon, fresh strawberries, mozzarella cheese and lemon mascarpone grilled on glazed donuts. I can certainly see why Tom+Chee is so well known for their donut sandwiches(and on a side note– you can order any of the savory grilled cheese combinations with glazed donuts as your bread if you are so inclined.) Unfortunately, for my waistline, there are a hundred other sandwiches and donuts I want to try here so I will have to kick my workouts up a notch. And since I am based in Orlando, I was thrilled to learn that soon we will have our very own Tom+Chee. The Lake Buena Vista store will be opening in June of 2015! The atmosphere is laid back, the food is amazing and the experience is fun. I am looking forward to spending more time here exploring my inner cheesy child.

I had been wanting to try this place so badly after receiving an ad in the mail and hearing about it from neighbors. I absolutely LOVE grilled cheese. As in, I ordered grilled cheese all the time at work when my work cafeteria sold it and I ordered it off the kids menu when I was pregnant at fresh 2 order(and they obliged, thankfully!). All that to say, I’m a grilled cheese fanatic. Tom and Chee was good, and I love the dipper idea, but the prices here are astronomical! Couldn’t they have at least given some chips and a drink included with the price of these sandwiches? Let’s be honest, it’s bread, cheese, and sandwich meat. If I’m paying more than $ 10 for a grilled cheese with chips and drinks I probably should just make it myself. I didn’t get a chance to try the donut(Because you can’t combine coupons!) and I’m really contemplating if it’s worth the trip back to try it. Please lower your prices or at least include more in the price!

Believe the hype this place is very good! We had the flying pig and turkey and pesto both were excellent. The tomato creamy basil is the best by far the chunky tomato tasted kind of plain. For dessert we shared the famous grilled donut with bananas foster. Probably very fattening but it was so good. The only complaint is the prices can get pretty high once you start adding and making combos. Be cautious

The secret to enjoying Tom + Chee is to order a sandwich that sounds maybe decadent. One that has chips — who puts chips inside a sandwich?! — a sammy that’s more than a slice of American and tomato. I perused the menu online at home, scanned the board when I got to the restaurant, and stuck to my original decision: The Italian!(A lovely combination of pepperoni, ham and mozzarella, topped with crumpled salt & vinegar chips.) Added a small side salad — the green goat — slurped a couple of cups of Coke Zero, and walked out feeling quite content.

All my kids could say was… NOTHING! They were too busy enjoying their Tom+Chee(tomatoes+garlic+cheddar+mozzarella on sourdough), Flying Pig(roasted turkey+bacon+pickles+gouda on sourdough) and the grilled mac&cheese(mac&cheese+cheddar on white bread). Make it a combo with chips and a drink OR their signature tomato soups(my fave is the Creamy Tomato Basil). There are three traditional tomato soups to choose from and they are all good«standard» soups. A soup of the day is also offered, which I’ll try new time. There are also salads, and yes they have a GRILLEDCHEESESALAD! as well as others for those who aren’t in a sandwich mood. For a gilled cheese sandwich shop I expected the sandwiches to be cheesier and they were more like paninis, but no less delicious. Crispy, buttery bread and very moist inside. OH, and you can turn your sandwich into a Double Decker for an additional charge. My son can’t wait to do that — he’s all about a mega grilled cheese sandwich, lol. The restaurant is in Kennesaw in the shopping center at the corner of Barrett-Parkway and Cobb Pkwy(it actually faces Cobb Parkway). It has plenty of seating(tables, booths and counter). Staff is nice and helpful if you’re unsure about what to order so don’t hesitate to ask them what they recommend. You order at the counter, get your receipt and choose a table. Food was prepared fresh and delivered quickly to our table. Fountain drinks are located in the back of the restaurant. During lunchtime there can be a bit of a wait, but no more than 10 – 15 minutes. I recommend this place to anyone who likes grilled cheese/panini type sandwiches. The menu is fun and the soups are good and flavorful. Great place for lunch with the kids or friends who still eat like kids, lol.

Heaven! This place is amazing! I have been dying to go to this place since I saw it on Shark Tank! I’m only dinging a star cause it is so far from me! These should be as close as the local McDonald’s! I’ve been here 4x now and I can’t wait to go back! Truth be told I’m a huge grilled cheese fan! Growing up, a grilled cheese and some Campbell’s tomato soup was my go to! Kinda lost it for awhile. Then I had a kid! Awesome! You can order a grill cheese at a restaurant and they think it’s for them ! This place has an amazing selection, custom build your own… Tomato soups! Special side dipper… Amazing! Staff is super friendly and accommodating! Super clean! Can’t wait to go back! Maybe tomorrow!

Tom+Chee is a sandwich shop that opened March 2014 on busy Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw. The franchise is based in Cincinnati, Ohio and has nearly 20 locations in the eastern U.S. including another Atlanta area location near North Point Mall in Alpharetta. The business is known for its grilled cheese sandwiches and grilled cheese donuts(yes, you read that right). I believe the name«Tom+Chee» refers to a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. While the address puts the shop on Barrett Parkway, the storefront actually faces Cobb Parkway(Highway 41). It’s in the same shopping center as Floor & Décor. It’s easier to turn into the shopping center from Cobb Parkway. This place is popular. At lunchtime, expect to stand in line. The wait isn’t bad(maybe 10 – 15 minutes tops) and it gives you time to pore over the wall menu. The menu consists of soups, salads, and sandwiches. You can build your own sandwich(starting at $ 3.95) or go with one of about 15 «fancy grilled cheese» sandwiches(each $ 5.95 or less). Prices are affordable. Customizing your own sandwich means choosing the bread type, cheese, and toppings, of which there are several in each category. Half sandwiches and gluten-free bread are available. There are about four or five soups including soup(s) of the day. They come in three sizes, one of which is a small«soup dipper» bowl, designed specifically for dipping your sandwich into. Along with the company’s signature Grilled Cheese Donut, there are many other donut sandwiches to choose from, such as Smore and Choco Bacon Bliss. The Grilled Cheese Donut is $ 3.95. The other, more elaborate donut sandwiches are $ 4.95 each. Tom+Chee has a fast casual setup. Pay upfront, take a number, and food is brought out to you. Drinks are self-serve from the fountain machine and tea canisters in the back. They have an open kitchen so you watch the sandwiches get made while waiting in line. The restaurant roasts their own meats and creates their own sauces and spreads from scratch. Items I’ve tried: Soups: Classic Tomato Creamy Tomato Basil Beer Cheese(daily special) Sandwiches: Tom+Chee — tomatoes, garlic seasoning, cheddar, mozzarella, sourdough Pesto+Turkey — roasted turkey, pesto, mozzarella, sourdough Donuts: Grilled Cheese Donut — cheddar cheese + glazed donut Blueberry Blue — blueberry compote, blue cheese, lemon mascarpone Generally, everything I’ve tried here has been satisfying. For the complete Tom+Chee experience, I recommend ordering both a soup and sandwich(and dipping your sandwich into the soup). Out of the soups listed above, the Beer Cheese soup is my favorite. It has the most flavor and is delicious. The Classic Tomato and Creamy Tomato Basil aren’t bad and exactly what you’d expect — simple, reliable soups. The tomato soup is slightly on the thick side. All soups are served with a small bag of crackers. The Tom+Chee sandwich is an enjoyable grilled cheese sandwich. I love the crispy, crusty, buttered sourdough toast. I think the sandwich would do fine(and taste great) without the tomatoes. Either way, it’s a solid sandwich. The Pesto+Turkey is nice too. The in-house roasted turkey is fresh and tender and the housemade pesto is tasty. Once again, the toasted sourdough is fantastic. The Grilled Cheese Donut tastes like it sounds. It consists of a glazed donut, split in half with cheddar cheese in the middle, grilled. Since there is more donut than cheese, the Grilled Cheese Donut tastes sweeter and doughier than cheesier. I think it’s terrific. If you come here, you should experience it at least once. The Blueberry Blue is quite good too. Also sweet, this grilled donut«sandwich» reminds me of a scrumptious jelly donut. The generous amount of blueberry compote just oozes out. Sandwiches my dining companions have ordered, which look appetizing, include the Crunchy Garlic Chicken(it has Parmesan garlic chips) and Armagoetta(with goetta breakfast sausage). Service is friendly and efficient. The staff I’ve encountered have been polite and accommodating. Made-to-order sandwich baskets come out from the kitchen in a reasonable amount of time. During peak periods, less than 10 – 12 minutes. Kennesaw is lucky to have a Tom+Chee.

I usually do not eat grilled cheese sandwiches. Notwithstanding that, I came to try one of the sandwiches and a grilled cheese doughnut. After reviewing the menu, the description of the Flying Pig sandwich looked good. It comes with roasted turkey, bacon, pickle and gouda on sourdough. It was good, but not spectacular. I ordered a Blueberry Blue grilled cheese donut. It is a grilled doughnut with blueberry complete, lemon mascarpone and blue cheese. The doughnut and its complements were good. A location in Alpharetta is due to open«soon». I would go back after the location closer to me opens to try another grilled cheese doughnut, but I may pass on the sandwiches.
