I’m just going to describe our experience and you can draw your own conclusions, but we’re not going back here. I called to make an appointment for my daughter and I at 1:30PM the following day. When we arrived, a stylist brought me back for my cut. About 20 minutes into my cut, I realized that my daughter will still waiting so I asked my stylist to find out why. A manager came back and told me that my daughter’s appointment had been at 1:00PM and we had missed it, but that they were working to get her in(which they didn’t mention at all when we checked in). I explained that I had made the appointments for the same time and the manager said she would«look into it»(that’s the last I heard about that issue). The manager then brought my daughter back to wash her hair but my cut was finished by then so I went to pay for the two of us. The person at the desk then insisted that my daughter had already paid for herself. Since my daughter is 16, her paying for her own cut is possible but not likely, I said that doubted that she had paid but he checked the computer and insisted that she had, so I took care of my bill and then went back and asked my daughter if she had paid. She hadn’t. So I then went back to the front, waited in line again to pay and then learned that her cut was $ 45. I asked why her cut was $ 45 when mine was $ 35 and he said, «The stylist confirmed the price with her.» I explained that she was 16 years old and that the price should be confirmed with me, not her. He insisted that it was $ 45 regardless and there was nothing he could do about it. Later, my daughter told me that when she explained the cut she wanted to the stylist, the stylist replied, «You’re not going to cry if you don’t like it?»

I’m not usually one to write reviews, but after reading the bad ones on here, I felt I should write about my experience. I am new to the DMV area and was going to make an appt at the Bethesda location, but I really wanted somewhere closer to my home so I tried the Wheaton location in the Montgomery plaza. My stylists’ name was Denesha. I’m biracial, so I am EXTREMELY picky about who touches my hair. Denesha was very polite and welcoming. She sat me down and we had a full conversation about what I wanted. She didn’t rush me and she was straightforward about everything. I instantly knew she had my best interest at heart and was not just trying to make her money. I got a deep conditioning treatment(I relax my hair so it can get very dry), a cut, blowout, and style with flat iron. She hit the nail right on the head. I got more hair chopped off than I wanted, but I knew my ends where terrible and dead, so it wasn’t a surprise that I needed so much taken off. And it looks and feels amazing! I already booked my next appt with her. Very happy. Also, I didn’t catch the names of the rest of the staff that worked there, but they were all very nice. I didn’t see or encounter one unpleasant person. Thank you Bubbles!

Came all the way down from VA/DC to get my haircut in a mall in Wheaton, MD. Why? The stylist, Andrea. I first started going to her when she was located around Foggy Bottom, DC. When I requested her one day, I found that she had left to take up a management position in MD which was a bit inconvenient for me. I tried going to different stylists in the area, but I wasn’t ever really happy with the results. She does an amazing job cutting my hair even though I have a cowlick in the back and want an asymmetrical cut. She knows how to work with hair, and I trust her completely. Perhaps it’s because we were in sync in terms of what I wanted, but I gave her little description and she was able to sculpt exactly what I wanted(perhaps, made it even better!). Not to mention, prices were definitely reasonable. $ 40 for a cut+tip. Look out for coupons/special promos to lower prices. I did think that the front desk was a little slow in checking people in/out, but I wasn’t too upset. I think I was just overjoyed with how good my hair looks after months of BLEGH!

I have gone to many of the Bubbles salons in the DC and Maryland area and you can count on getting a decent cut and styling for a good price at many of them. The other day I decided to give the Wheaton Mall Bubbles salon a try.(near Macy’s) The lady stylist gave me a contemporary cut in a reasonable time, she was friendly but concentrated on the cut, she really seemed to know what would suit my face and hair type which I appreciated. The price was right and I’m happy, Thank you!

This store is terrible! I had an appointment at 6:00PM i arrived at 6:00 Pm expecting that they were at least almost ready. but they were not even even close. i was very patient and waited at the store. but when the barber was done, another person walked in and the barber started servicing her. i was sitting there going like WTH? i had enough. i don’t mind that all the barbers and customers were black and i was the only Asian person there, but what i DO mind is that when i asked the cashier why is the person servicing another person when i had an appointment before her. the cashier replied to me: «oh just wait 17 more minutes –_-» I’ve had enough, its not only that even by 6:47 that i still hadn’t gotten my hair cut. but its the way the employees treated and talked to the customers. they treated me like i was nobody. when i told them i was leaving because they were not respecting the customers by not respecting appointments made by customers. they replied to me: «oh OK bye». the cashier clearly didn’t care about the customers or her job, as she was talking on her«iPhone» the whole time. paying no attention to the customers sitting what so ever. i am totally blown at the terrible customer service. and the way the cashier treated me. i 100% DONOTRECOMMENDANYONETOGOTOTHISSTORE, ITWAS A TOTALWASTEOFMYTIME, AND I SUGGESTTHATANYONEWHOISPLANNINGTOGOTOTHISSTORE, TORECONSIDER! Yesterday was an awful day at Bubbles. I called at 11am to make a same-day appointment, rather than be a walk in. They confirmed me for a 1:30. I arrived at 1:15 in case they were running early. They were not. That was fine. The stylist told me she would take me in a few minutes, at around 1:45. That was fine. By 2:30, she had just finished with one woman and was starting a second. I was NOT going to wait any longer. I made the appointment. Either they should not have accepted walk-ins or NOT made my appointment for 1:30. The receptionist did nothing to solve the problem. I was not offered any restitution for my hour-long wait and subsequent non-haircut. I walked out. I will NEVER return. Bubbles Mgmt: As someone who is knowledgeable in WOM marketing, this Bubbles location should be aware they will ONLY be getting negative reviews from me based on this complete lack of customer service. This store needs a SERIOUS management overhaul. You have lost a paying customer, and everyone she knows. Potential customers: Take the extra time you’d spend waiting here and drive to Olney Bubbles where the entire salon is well-run, pleasant, and willing to accommodate your every whim.

A prettily wrapped game of chance, Bubbles Hair Salon in Westfield mall(the Wheaton location) is somewhere that you honestly never know what you’re going to get. I have had my hair styled for formal occasions several times at the location in White Flint(I believe, though I could be mistaken – it has a Nordstroms…) and it turned out great 90% of the time. A few years ago, I went to Bubbles in Wheaton; I had a hair disaster which left my very long hair half ORANGE(I’m a brunette). The only way we could afford to have them fix the horrible dye fiasco was to cut my hair(Bubbles charges double for dying long hair). I was contemplating what to get when the woman doing my hair asked if I’d like to donate. I was wary at first, but most of it had to go, anyway, and I figured, 1,2 more inches, it’ll be fine, and I felt okay about it ONLY because it was for charity. Besides, the woman assured me, it was DEFINITELY long enough. So, she swept in back into a ponytail, and *snip* my head suddenly felt much lighter. She whisked away the ponytail, disappearing for a moment. Then, she came back out, tossed the ponytail into my lap without a care, and stated ‘It’s too short.“ Excuse me?! Hadn’t she assured me otherwise? All said and done, though, the haircut didn’t turn out too bad. Although, boy, was it short! I filed what had happened away and told myself I was Never donating again. A few years later, I wanted to change things up(long hair was back) so I told the woman who was working on me I wanted bangs and layers around the face. I walked out when she was done– it wasn’t until I got home and washed out all that goop they put in without asking that I saw what she’d done. My ‘bangs’ were only on one side of my part, there were layers, but even they were done wrong. And last but not least, one side of my hair was SHORTER than the other. Fortunately, there’s always at least ONE nice woman working there, and she happened to be at the front counter. I told her in a slightly teary voice what the stylist had done, and she asked me what I had had in mind. I’d barely finished my sentence when she was telling me to close my eyes and snipping carefully at my hair with her scissors. It took her less than 10 minutes. The results were astounding. It looked great. Exactly what I’d wanted in the first place. Of course, there was no charge, which was really nice. My point is, if you’re feeling dangerous, or need something basic, then, by all means, check it out. However, if you DO, never a.) let the stylest turn(and keep) you away from the mirror. b.) DONOTDONATE. If you’re going to donate, I don’t know, find somewhere else. If you are going to donate Their, then please, I beg of you; make them messure, first.

I was a loyal Bubbles Wheaton customer for over 3 years before I experienced the absolute worst customer service of my entire life(I have lived in France, mind you) last week. First, I had to wait 40 minutes for my appointment, which I had made several weeks in advance. Second, when I got to the chair for my wash and cut, my stylist was coloring another woman’s hair as she asked me about what I wanted to do to my hair today. All this is nothing, though, compared to the sheer incompetence and verbal abuse that ensued as I tried to pay for my haircut and the many products I purchased along with it. Both before my appointment and when I reached the cashier, I presented a coupon for 25% off my haircut. The«new» front desk worker forgot to enter my coupon as she tallied my total, and I ended up overpaying by 13 dollars. When I asked her if she had entered my coupon, she replied, «Ohhhh. Um. Nah.» I said, «Well, could you please redo the transaction so I get the discount?» It took her and every person in the crowded salon about 45 minutes to figure out how to void the first transaction and give me my discount, which had to be charged to a different card from the one I had originally used. In this process, though, I was berated and even blamed for the entire problem, which was entirely the fault of the front desk worker. Not once did this front desk worker apologize for her error or try to mollify me. In fact, she let her colleagues yell at me and tell me that I presented the coupon too late to get credit, and this whole thing was my fault. I have never seen such incompetence at a front desk or such animosity towards customers in a business whose primary goal should be to please its customers, especially when they’ve been wronged! It was an awful day at an awful salon. And the front desk worker would not stop playing with her upper lip ring the entire time I spoke with her. Highly unprofessional. AVOIDTHISBUBBLESATALLCOSTS.
