I came to this online store by pure accident. I then ordered some books which came that was all in Russian. The website had translations in English for the books which would lead you to believe that there was English as well as Russian in the contents. Sad to discover they did not. I was so happy to find that they were 20 miles away from me. I contacted them and spoke to a certain Elena that said I could return the books provided they were in «sellable» condition. Seeing that I got them the day before, of course it fit their criteria, she said just head on down there and everything will be taken care of. Problem arose when I got there. They had left a woman who spoke little English handle the store and of course my query. I chose the books that I wanted to be replaced and told her that if there is a difference I will just pay the balance off my previous order which I discarded entirely. I don’t know if it’s a scam, she pretended not knowing how to operate the cash register and suggested that I pay for this and then come again for a refund. Since I had already spent 110 on the first order, forking over another hundred was way out of the question since the store does not offer refunds but only«store credit». She then told me to leave my first order and when I gestured that I needed her to acknolege that she had it, she then told me to leave my number instead feigning«language barrier» she also didn’t want to call anyone who spoke English and said that they don’t want to be disturbed. She promised though that they would call the next day, settle the exchange and send the items to me via post. I notified English speaking Elena about what had transpired, she then emailed me to call their number and look for James. Suffice to say the number was a dud. I have yet to hear from her because I don’t want to drive 20 miles again to be met by nothing plus the woman at the store said it would be sorted out and my new selections mailed to me. I will hold her to that word. I will update this post once I hear from them. I might have to dispute the paypal transaction if this doesn’t work out. Overall, the bookstore has a good selection of books, better than their website but terrible customer service.
