The bar tender was a nice lady last night, but it looks like they’re about to move or something… Older television, and no ambience to speak of … I don’t need a fancy place to hang out with friends but this place was kind of a dive. If they move or remodel I might try it again.

This place has bad service. They tried to remodel and spruce it up but it’s still a shit hole and the patrons are little to be desired. I will never ever go here again. Every time I think maybe it will be better I leave feeling like I need to take a shower to kill any disease I may have picked up while I was there.

Came here tonight because a friend wanted to do karaōke. Which the karaōke is okay… But I noticed that the«bartender“s»” ended up in the back cooking food that my friends ordered. And the place is kind of all over the place.

Went here last night for Karaōke. We walked in past the drunk Karaōke host. At 10:30 on a Saturday night, there were two people at the bar. There were four of us(double the number of existing customers) and we went to one of the very open tables. The female bartender did not acknowledge us at all and kept on talking to her two(2) customers at the bar. The Karaōke host(who saw us walk in) continued to talk to his friends outside. The karaōke screen just had a list of one singer waiting on it(the host himself). We waited five minutes at our table without any acknowledgement from the bartender or host and then walked to the door to leave. As we exited, we were given a «Bye guys!!!» from the bartender. Wow. What a complete dipshit. I guess they all just wanted to close early and go somewhere that actually had some life to it.

So I’ve been back over at Bad Monkey and I have to say that I’m very impressed. The music is now there, even though Melody Records still isn’t there, the bathrooms are 100% better, the place looks allot more on the classy side and the lighting is very flattering now. The food proportions are still just a bit off but not so much that someone would complain, I just know because I used to be a cook and a perfectionist at it. I didn’t get the chance to have a mixed drink but I can only imagine that the mixed drinks aren’t so overpowering anymore. An A+ from me. Jon Taffer would be proud. :-)

Came here after a day at the horse races. Seems like alot of regulars hang out here. The smell of ganja was outside as we walked up, inside looks recently remodeled. 7 pool tables. 2 darts, a pinball machine. Couple small tvs, and a karaōke tv. Nice bar. Lots of tables. bar tender was really friendly.

This is a fun dive bar. Interesting, mixed crowd. Friendly people. Regulars get to know each other and are friendlier over time. Very nice and personable bartenders. If you want a strong drink and feel like singing some karaōke, check out the Bad Monkey.

Rude bartenders and a weird scene. I’m an avid biker and a lover of dive bars but this place misses the mark. You gotta give love to bikers and patrons that actually pay :) instead of the 22 year oaks trying to mooch a drink from their peers. Karaōke is ok though and the food isn’t bad. Hey, it’s a dive bar, what do you expect right?

I love coming to the Bad Monkey in Kent. Its always a great time. The DJ is super cool and karaōke is a blast. Drinks can be expensive, but hey its like that everywhere. Some nights are really slow and others packed. Its definately a gay friendly bar. Certain nights have good drink specials.

Just like anyplace, it has its GOOD and BAD days !!! Most of the people are Great unless they’re drunk, the two bartenders are just ANGELS, always a smile and friendly, food is a hit or a miss… I do have to agree with getta l. about the bathrooms, but lets hope those are getting remodel soon because they do smell and are so bad looking but the outside was just remodel and it looks great, anyway looking forward to going back …

I Would have Given Them 5 Stars a Couple Months Ago But now they refuse to let you use gift certificates for alcohol, its a joke. You have to spend $ 35 on just food to use the gift certificates I like and since all they serve are like $ 8 sandwiches, even 3 – 4 people eating there on a gift certificate isn’t enough.

Stopped in for a beer… the place was almost empty. Looked to be several locals and that was it. The bartender said the have a large breakfast clientele. They serve 2 eggs, bacon, hash-browns and toast for $ 2.997 days a week. We’ll go back and try that… how bad can you screw up bacon and eggs for $ 2.99.

Again, this was a stop to refill on hydraulic fluid. I tried their Bad Monkey Ale and it was pretty good. Nice place with lots of parking. On a Sunday, there weren“t many people in the joint. I think this is a nice dive bar. They specialize in a $ 2.99 breakfast, seven days a week. We’ll be back to try that and other menu items.
