So I went to donate product to this goodwill, in case you are planning to donate here… here is a(partial) list of things they won’t take according to the gentleman who shooed me away. 1) pet kennels(brand new in box) 2) clothing(because I had it in bags and they wanted to rifle through it to check condition.) 3) pots and pans because they were too old and his exact words were«come on now, nobody wants that old stuff.» Otherwise, I’ve shopped this location a few times its usually pretty clean and they’ve got decent pricing so from that aspect they deserve an extra star. If you’re going to donate, go to the value village down the road.

I don’t know… it’s a Goodwill. *shrug* I don’t go thrift shopping as much as I’d like to. So I don’t really have that high of expectations. However, there is ALWAYS a line here. I don’t know what the staffing situation looks like here, but I would honestly stop in here more if I knew I wouldn’t have to spend the same amount of time waiting in line as I did perusing the wares. There’s a ton of parking, so that’s a plus. But nothing superfantastic.

I’ll first say that this GW is never the first thrift store on my list. I would rather go somewhere else if I’m looking for a good stock of items across a broad spectrum of departments. First, the shopping center that the Goodwill is a part of as well as the parking lot is really ghetto and triflin’. There is trash all over the parking lot. The Goodwill is kind of back away from the street as if it warns you not to come inside. I usually browse practically every section just to get an idea if my purchases are worth my time and money. All the sections are really picked over and not organized by size or anything. The only section that is somewhat organized is the books and media, which is really hard to mess that one up. It’s problematic in the men’s clothes section. It’s just like someone threw the clothes onto the rack & some magically attached themselves to the hangers. Notice I said some. All the rest are either on the floor or hanging from one of the clips of the hangers. Again, there is no size organization so you spend most of your time having to go through the entire section instead of refining your search to your size immediately. I took one look at the housewares section and was just over the entire store. There was an aisle that basically had 3 vases and a bag of knick knacks on one entire side of the aisle. I mean… are times really that hard for thrift store donations? I left the store thinking of one hyphenated word… Hyper-ghetto.

Didn’t know what to expect, this place was a bit unorganized and didn’t have a lot to show. Didn’t find much that was an eye opener/tempting

Pros: –The donation people take most of your stuff at this location versus at the one at Southcenter. –Not that busy at all. Plenty of parking spaces. Cons: –Dirty and disorganized. Seriously… you need to force your way through their pile of stuff. –Most of their items are WAY overpriced. There are not much deals going on during the week either. Best for you to go down the road and shop at Ross where their stuff is not donated but equally price like this store. Or, head to Value Village where at least some of their items are reasonably price and the store is much cleaner.

I LOVE thrift stores. I do not love this thrift store. Their racks of clothes are always a mess & are poorly organized. The book section is not in alphabetical order so finding a specific book you are looking for is impossible. Went here yesterday with a girlfriend & found 2 things. Card games for a friends 4 year old son. They were 99c each so the price was right. Note: Their is a driveway on the West side of the shopping complex near the Azteca that should be closed because it is so dangerous! Avoid it at all costs unless you drive a tank.

The Kent Goodwill used to be my jam. And then I found the Southcenter Goodwill and their $ 1.29 Mondays. That made everything in this Goodwill seem woefully overpriced. The selection here seems to be lacking as well. The clothing is more dated and less desirable accordingly. The shoe selection here is always dismal. The housewares are decent, but again, compared to the Southcenter location the selection is awful. My recommendation? Cruise on over to Southcenter(or even Covington) where the selection and pricing are better. And, if you’re feeling super ambitious, head down the hill to Kent’s Goodwill Outlet affectionately called«The Bins.» It’s an adventure and one that I particularly enjoy on occasion. A side note on donating: They aren’t picky here. Bring it in and they’ll take it. This came in handy when I was moving.
