Much too expensive for the quality and style restaurant they are. Prices were around 20 to 30 percent higher than comparable steakhouses in the area.

Great steaks. Reasonable prices. My husband and I have the Sunday specials a ribeye and fillet. Both cooked perfectly. Try the warm bacon vinaigrette on your salad.

My boyfriend and I have been to Out West three times within the past two months and we have found our favorite steakhouse. We are always exceptionally satisfied with the food and service. Every employee is professional, helpful and welcoming. Keep up the great work!

Well,… They do have steak, if you ever get it, …and it happens to be cooked to your liking. Also, like many restaurants now a days, they don’t seem to have enough plates, because they continuously keep trying to take mine while I’m still eating.

We stopped here on our way home to wv. Try the mango margarita. It was the best one I’ve had since I was in Mexico. The steaks were some of the best.

Best steakhouse I’ve found in the entire state! Prices are more than reasonable for the incredibly prepared food! The chefs actually understand how to cook steak to customers’ taste. Was also great to find a great NC beer on tap, Foothills Jade. Staff is friendly and on top of their game despite being swamped with guests from the moment the doors open. I kid you not, the parking lot was more than ¾ full about a half an hour before they opened!

Went with another couple. First timers. Long wait, over an hour, but it was a Sat night. It’s a really big place, with a rather smallish bar area — I would have gotten a drink while I waited, but too many people there. And too bad they don’t take reservations(only for 8+) or even call ahead seating. Went because of very good reviews for steak and we knew the other couple loved steak. Shared the chicken nachos and was pleasantly surprised. It’s not my type of food choice, but was very good and didn’t feel overwhelmingly heavy. I particularly liked that they have gouda on it rather than nacho cheese sauce. Nice twist. Cilantro would have been a nice addition, too. We enjoyed it. We all got steaks of some type. Mine was the filet with scallops. Ordered med rare and it was on the lighter side of med rare, but I would rather it be slightly under rather than over cooked. Nice piece of beef, good flavor and seasoning. Removed the bacon because it was undercooked, but I guess that’s to be expected with a med rare filet. The scallops were great, perfectly cooked and a nice size with a delicious tarragon sauce. Unfortunately one of them had the muscle still attached(and I suspect the other one did but it was in my mouth already and I didn’t want to explore the issue further). Grilled asparagus was very good too, the quality of the vegetable was good, no hard stalks and done to al dente. Thumbs up. Oh, and the salad had darker greens for a house salad, which made me happy. And although I don’t care for bacon, I got the warm bacon dressing. Yum! Hubby got filet tips in a sauce with mushrooms, med rare. It appeared to be served med rare, but the sauce was hot enough to cook it further and he is a slow eater. By the time he was halfway through, they were medium to med well filet tips. Bummer. They all got the baked sweet potato w/o sugar/cinnamon. Very good, fluffy texture — I had a couple of bites. The other couple said they enjoyed their steaks as well. I think they got sirloins. Service was good, could have been great if our server remembered to bring our guest another beer after we ordered it. And he could have been a little more attentive to when our drinks ran low — I could have ordered another glass of wine, but didn’t want to wait. With 3 beers and 2 glasses of wine, the bill was $ 142 before tip(no dessert). Very pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price — I disagree with others Unilocal reviews about it being pricy. Would go again, especially for those scallops!

Outwest Steak House is a great steak house in Kernersville! Ok, it’s the only steak house in Kernersville! But don’t let that deter you from giving them a shot. It’s certainly better than ANY chain steak house you could spend your money at in the Triad. And for the record, there are a couple of really good chain spots out there. It’s funny that it’s a «night out» spot for all of the Kernersville locals that are dressed in their best jeans, boots, button up shirts, and short dresses! They are on to something though, as it’s been a solid spot for years! Everything on the menu is literally really good! The best apps in my opinion are the Onion Ribbons and Crab Dip. The Onion Ribbons is their take on the traditional blooming onion. Sliced into small bites, dipped into a incredibly light tasty battered, and inevitably fried to a crispy perfection! The steaks here are always delivered to your temperature request, and within a fair market price. The burgers are cooked to order as well due to them grinding their own meat. It allows you to get a burger with steak meat ground into it, cooked to your temperature preference! One menu item that someone might find odd for a steak house is their Tortilla Salad. I’ve had it many times and can certainly attest to the fact that it’s fantastic, fresh, and can be topped with the meat of your choice! I don’t come here often due to it’s not super affordable, but it’s certainly a consideration for those splurging meal nights!

Great food. Bacon wrapped filet mignon and fresh cut fries are great. Never had a bad meal. Only downside is the pre dinner bread is usually hard.

This restaurant has the best LAMB! I have been to plenty of Mediterranean restaurants known for lamb, however, Outwest bets them all! I wish I knew were the meat was from? Beautifully cooked.

We were in the mood to splurge and we did. We both got the evening’s specials. I got the Filet Mignon which was excellent, cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. My husband got the Salmon with a crab topping, which was very good. The sides were unique — not just your French fries or baked potatoes. We were both stuffed, so opted to get dessert to go. I got the pumpkin cheesecake, which was very good. Husband got German Chocolate Cake, and there was enough there to feed 4 people! Our server was attentive without being around too much. The place was a little noisy.

This is a more upscale restaurant for this area. Nice atmosphere and food is great but overall it is pretty pricey.

Had the worst service ever here! Waitress couldn’t get the meal right and then just disappeared for the night. The manager had to serve up but he was know better cause after 30 minutes of waiting he still charged me the full price. I never ate my meal and my wife had to wait 30 – 45 minutes for her meal. They just suck and I will tell anyone I meet not to eat there! Oh yea this was my anniversary as well!

Had a very good meal and the service by Annie was excellent. The table was ready to go when we arrived and as the others came in Annie was right there to get the drink orders. She then took the appetizer orders which were brought out in a timely manner. We were not pressed to place our entrée orders but when we did she made sure she repeated back to us to correctly get the order right. The meals were delivered also in a timely manner and all meals were delivered together. Everyone enjoyed their meals with only two comments. One Linguine and Chicken dish was overly spicy and my Medium Prime Rib came out just above Rare and cool. Fortunately it was a good cut of beef and I did eat it. Other than that this would have been a 5 star visit. They were not real crowded and the ambiance is great.

If you’re in the mood for steak and you don’t know where to go, come to Outwest Steak House. You most certainly will not be disappointed. The establishment is quite large and can fit many parties. I have never experienced a time when I didn’t receive excellent customer service. As you can tell from some of my other reviews, customer service can make or break a place for me. Regarding the food, there are hardly words to express how delightfully delicious the steaks are at Outwest Steak House. They’re perfectly cooked, seasoned, loved, and devoured… Really though, they are generously cut and aged for 6 weeks before they’re ready to be cooked. I usually stick with the 8oz Prime Rib and I like the switch up the sides. Their herb roasted tomatoes stuffed with creamed spinach are incredible. Not healthy, but worth it. And to continue with the theme, if you have room after all of the food you’ve ingested, go with the brown sugar-pecan crusted apple cobbler. You won’t regret it!

Surprise random stop. Good decision for late evening. Very good, rich onion soup that reminds me to only order it in a steakhouse. Lamb lollipops were finger-lickin’ and just the right temp. Oh, did I mention ½price wine on Tues?

There’s a reason they’re noted for their prime rib. But even if you don’t love it as an entrée, definitely get the prime rib sliders. I repeat: definitely get the prime rib sliders. Great atmosphere.

When I want a steak, I come here. I happen to think this place is better than Longhorn and Outback, plus you never have to wait in line. The prime rib is excellent and was cooked perfectly. I’ve had their regular prime rib, as well as their specialty prime win with a brown sugar crust and mustard dipping sauce. Both are great! I’m not much of a salad person, but I could eat salads all day long with their hot bacon vinaigrette dressing. I’d liken it to California Dreamin’s similar dressing. It’s SO yummy! Service, as always, was stellar. They also have a lamb chop appetizer on the menu that is fantastic.

One of our favorite places in Kernersville. The only place for a good sit down steak. We usually start off with the onion strips. Each one of the family gets something different. From the tuna to ribs. I had the standard chicken sandwich it was great. Could improve if they were opened for lunch. Besides that… great place to eat

I revisited this restaurant for a second time this past Saturday evening, and I was delightfully surprised by the quality of our meal this time. My party of four arrived about 6:30pm, and we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, but considering how crowded the place was, that wasn’t such a big deal. There is not much in the way of standing room, but we collected against the wall in the crowded bar area, and waited for our buzzer to go off. We were seated at a table directly across from the kitchen, and again, the restaurant was packed, but it wasn’t all that uncomfortable, and the warmth from the kitchen was pleasant rather than oppressive. It was a little loud, but workable. Our server, Addie(who looked like a tiny pixie), was fabulous, attentive, and even though she had a lot of tables to deal with, we felt like she was always accessible when we needed her. She helped make the meal an event(and my husband tipped her 40% which she deserved). We started with the chicken nachos, and I highly recommend this appetizer. I was the only one in our group who appreciates avocado/guacamole, but that ingredient could easily be left off(sad face), and it would still be a delicious appetizer. There was a sweet sauce and lots of mmmmms melted gouda cheese. You MUST try this! I went with the fish special(I think it was yellow tail) which had an accompanying fruit based sauce and a chopped fruit accompaniment. This might have been the best fish I have ever eaten(and that’s saying something). My friend, Mike, had the ribs; I have never seen such a large serving. My son and husband both had steaks and said they were cooked perfectly and very tasty. We had a great time and a great meal. I sort of feel bad about my earlier 3 star review(though, I do stand behind my previous review for the reasons stated, but perhaps I visited them on an off night). My family and I will return.
