Very good food at a fair price and pretty good service, I recommend it. The Spanish omelette for breakfast and the chicken club for lunch are my favorite also the best side is the sautéed spinach.

We ate here when traveling in the area. Selections were great. There was lovely live music the nite that we were in. Only downside was staff decided to clean the floor since they were closing within 30 minutes. That certainly distracted us from our meal with friends and was rude as it was in front of the singing duo.

Fun location, great food, great service… Goodness there’s an outdoor nursery, gift shop, full bakery, live music, outdoor movie night– what doesn’t this place have? Well, if you guessed milk by the gallon or a big selection of beer to go, nope because they have that too!(We took home a six pack of «Not your Dad’s Rootbeer») Plus a giant counter filled with house made fresh cookies, a glass case of slices of pie and more. Menu is creative. Food quality and presentation is great. Hill country rustic with all kinds of interesting and fun flair. The buildings are amazing.

Located just 3 miles Northwest of IH-10 on FM783(Harper Road) in Gillespie County just 10 minutes north of Kerrville. We had family visiting from Austin and New York. We had enjoyed 3 previous meals here so we suggested we meet after church today. This place is now our favorite restaurant. We had a group of 8 and were welcomed with a happy, accommodating, smiling staff. They were busy, but still gave great service. This place has it all. Creative rustic Country décor, great good and a very friendly staff from the young man who cleans the tables as soon as someone leaves, to Lola and Katy who spoiled us. I ordered the California Broiled Chicken with Fried Green Tomatoes and«COLD» House Salad that wasn’t even on the menu today. Others had, Chicken Fried Chicken and Poached Pear and fried Green Tomatoes, Tilapia, mashed potatoes, etc. My Son enjoyed his Vegan Pasta Primavera, Daughter had Mushroom smothered Chicken Filet, etc. WOW!!! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choices. Then, we toured the gift shop, creatively landscaped grounds including the Chicken Condo on the grounds. We couldn’t believe how reasonable the bill was for such a well-prepared meal. We even tipped the Chef. He earned it. We got our meals together with all the great sides including the wonderful Cheesy-Jalapeño Cornbread and rolls. If you want to enjoy a great meal without having too cook it yourself, I highly recommend this place. Also, great place to take pictures. They have a beautiful pumpkin patch with a colorful, rustic huge wooden state of Texas to give interest to your photographic memories.

Hands-down my favorite breakfast spot in Central Texas. The food is so cheap compared to what I’m used to, and it’s delicious. The setting is perfect, it looks like the whole place is made out of local cedar –Hell, it probably is. Every detail has been meticulously designed to amplify the small town Hill Country culture, and it works. I really recommend getting a cinnamon roll from the bakery for breakfast, they’re amazing. The country potatoes are crispy and delicious, with plenty of garlic, not to mention hot salsa on the side. I had one server who felt a little disingenuous even through her courtesies, but all of the other staff seemed really proud to be doing a good job. Go for a stroll through the nursery out back after your meal, it’s absolutely gorgeous.

The food here is great but the service needs improvement. My family and I have dined at Café at the Ridge frequently, almost once weekly until recently. The last time I went with my kids, I placed a to go order near the end of the meal to take home for my spouse. I waited about 30 min for it. After it didn’t arrive, I went to the cash register to pay and asked about the meal. The server never put the order in. There was no apology and not even an acknowledgment from the server that anything was forgotten. The time before that, I sat down at a table with my family. Three other tables came in after us. They waited on every other table before us. On one occasion, they were grossly understaffed(not the server’s fault). After about half and hour, they sent a non-wait staff employee over to take our order. The food never arrived. After about 30 more min, I overheard him telling the server what our order was so she could put it in the computer. It had been and hour and the order wasn’t even entered. When he was telling her what we ordered, it was all wrong so I went up and told her what the correct order was. I’m not sure why I didn’t leave at that point. On a different occasion, I ordered a dessert to go. When I got home, it wasn’t what I ordered. Although the staff may smile when they’re waiting on you, they have this underlying vibe that says, «If you order one more thing, I’m going to punch you in the face.» So in summary: great food but not worth the service. It’s a shame because the food is good and it’s a beautiful setting.

Had a wonderful Lunch today with my husband at the Ridge. The staff was inviting, informative and definitely gave a «you are family» feeling. Husband enjoyed the Salisbury Steak and could not stop talking about how wonderful the mushroom gravy was. I had the meatloaf which was home style good, with spinach and sweet potatoe fries. The spinach was fresh spinach with onion bacon and tomatoes and a distinct taste of garlic throughout… Highly impressed that it wasn’t the can or frozen kind! And I can’t rave enough about the sweet potatoe fries… No frozen here… They were home cut just the right thickness, crispy crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. And the iced tea was definitely a home brewed classic. After our lunch we enjoyed homemade strawberry ice cream as we strolled through the beautiful garden and nursery. I can’t wait to try the cowboy cookies from the Bakery I scooped up for my evening snack tonight! Can’t wait to go back to this one!

Heard the food is good but kitchen is VERY slow. Came for breakfast/brunch today(Sunday) but they stopped serving it at 11am! That’s awfully early to stop breakfast on a Sunday! We would have to skip church to make it and that ain’t happenin’. Curiously, as I asked about breakfast at the counter, and they were quick to tell us no, at the same time that girl was picking up a tray of breakfast food just coming out of the kitchen to serve! Guess they placed their order at 1059a, it was 1130a at the time so there’s evidence of their slowness. How long does it take to cook an omelet anyway?

My wife and I stumbled onto this little piece of paradise in the Texas Hill Country outside Kerrville last summer. Quite frankly, we were shocked by the beauty of this place, apparently owned by a famous landscaper from San Antonio, The Ridge is place to pick up a quick six pack, or a quick baked delight from their exquisite bakery. In addition, they have a great restaurant, where we sat and had a terrific dinner, with great local entertainment. The wait staff is accommodating and attentive, thanks Laurel. The grounds are truly remarkable, even at night the lights glow along the walkways, and swing through the trees. During the day, anything you need for your hill country landscape, including artificial turf, is right outside. We liked this place so much, we came back for breakfast. My wife mentioned that if we lived here, she would come here every Sunday.

What a nice spot for breakfast! We stopped in with friends for a Sunday breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. First off, it’s a beautiful drive through Hill Country up to the café, Then, we had a very nice breakfast complete with friendly and prompt service. Food was tasty and portions were adequate(not huge, and that’s okay). We’ll be back!

Good place for a casual dinner. Wait staff very friendly. Hamburgers and chicken fried steak were great. The Texas salad was ok but the cajun shrimp tasted frozen. Pie for dessert was heavenly. Loved the luve music as well…

Breakfast was good and I am stuffed. Had the migas, it had a good spice kick. Pancakes had a tasty vanilla flavor but needed salt to bring it out more. Wife had a breakfast sandwich with turkey/egg on sourdough. Was very good. The drive was very pleasant, I’m a visitor to the area, and the twisty roads were enjoyable. Prices are reasonable, would come back. Did this review on my phone back in Sept of 2013 and just now getting around to publishing. This is one of the few place in Kerrville I would revisit if I ever find myself in that town again. No offense to anyone… but the food there was not exciting to someone spoiled w/what is available in Dallas.

Well bummer. I thought it would be a great place… boy was I wrong.10 oz Ribeye medium came out looking well done… i re– ordered a new one… it came out the same way… after I spoke with the sweet waitress it sounded like they marinated the steak in something that drained all the blood out of it… I really wanted to see that meat before it hit the grille. .hmmm my fried green tomatoes tasted and looked like it had been fried more than once… only thing that was good was the redd apple ale at 3.75 a pop… yikes I only had one… time to check the the chef out or revamp your menu… good luck!

The drive out is very nice. When you arrive you certainly know you are there. No danger of missing it. The garden/nursery area is beautiful even in the winter. We got there just a little after 11am. The place was packed. They graciously let us sit in the back dining room which was reserved for a wedding at 1pm after I explained that the crowded front dining room would be overwhelming for Clint. We started with the appetizer trio-I chose chips & salsa, fried green tomatoes caprese, and cream cheese filled jalapeño. Clint had a burger and fries. I had a side salad and fried cabbage plus a cornbread muffin. The salad was the highlight I’m a sucker for a chilled salad bowl. The other things were ok but next time I will go for breakfast based on the crowd. If I go back for lunch/dinner I will try one of their full salads. I will definitely return just for the fabulous service and the great smells from the bakery. A nice change from the BBQ and Tex-Mex offerings that dominate Kerrville.

Looking for a breakfast place on our return trip to NV after visiting for 2 weeks with our new grandbaby & family in Montgomery, TX. We thought it was a mirage, it was so unexpected! Delightful place with a lovely menu! My hubby had breakfast sandwich on a wonderful homemade roll, I had the Florentine turkey omelet & homemade biscuits with homemade blueberry preserves-heaven! Of course we couldn’t leave without a visit to the bakery(a baker’s dozen cookies for $ 5!) & the organic nursery & gift shop. The gift shop had unbelievable wood craftsmanship(check out the wall of the bathroom!), the stairs & recycled mantle, mason jars, & pails! Glad we don’t live near-by, we’d be there everyday!

We visited Gma in Kerrville and we had a great time. She wanted to take us here to show us the garden and have a fantastic lunch before we left. The staff all around were nice and gracious. The garden was beautiful and they did a great job making it whimsical. They also gave us a little plant lesson as well. The restaurant was very cute, it was rustic and had a patio area I think for dancing, and some items you can buy, as well as some quick grab and go fridge along the wall. The food was alright. Country cooking and down to earth. Food was very basic. This is a good place to get a bite and spend time with family before leaving town. For what it was it was ok. We didn’t get dessert so we don’t know how the bakery was but it was ok.
