Tiny, expensive, and a few cashiers that treat you killed someone they love. The only real positives are the location and there are sometimes really good sales.

This is one of two groceries in Kew Gardens on Lefferts Blvd. This is your normal C-Town, so it is purely utilitarian. The aisles are extremely tight, so expect to be close to your fellow shoppers, especially in the produce section. The place is packed with things everywhere, so look along the top of the aisles for items you can’t find(Cereal is on top of the meat section). The prices are fine, not too high nor a bargain. The product offerings are not as good as bigger stores, but they«should» have what you need. Don’t expect good quality organic options, but that should go without saying. .. it’s a C-Town. The personnel are helpful — both the cashiers and stock boys. Be aware that there is a credit card minimum, which is standard for C-Towns and most stores in Kew Gardens. More specifics: Produce: The produce section has okay quality items, except for the fruit flies that are often on the peaches, plums, and nectarines(I avoid those). If you would like more produce options of higher quality, head to Joy Fruit on Metropolitan( ) or the place across the street that I can’t recall at this time. Meats/Cheese: There is no Meat/Cheese counter so you will have to go elsewhere for deli cuts to order. There is a limited selection of meats, cheeses, and seafood. Unless you want common/popular cuts of chicken, pork, or beef, then I would suggest another grocery. Dairy: With respect to milks(cow, almond, soy, etc.), open them before you leave to make sure that it hasn’t spoiled(open them at the cashier). I’ve had to return on two different occasions because of milk that had spoiled. They did replace them quickly, without issue, for me. Beer: The beer select is not that bad. It is chilled in fridges in the back left section of the store across from the meats. If you don’t find things here, go to the grocery next door to the C-Town or, surprisingly, the 7 – 11(who knew they had a few craft beers).

Lack of competition explains it all. The prices are a bit high and forget being treated with courtesy and respect. I moved here just over a month ago;I hate going into this place. I will only go in here for a very few necessities. What is needed in this area is a larger supermarket. I am willing to bet there would be a major attitude adjustment.

How is it possible that they are more expensive than grocery stores in Forest Hills? Lack of competition? Apparently some of the cashiers save the charm for regular customers. Pretty obvious they don’t use it on anyone else.

This is the neighborhood supermarket and it’s small, cramped and not a pleasant shopping experience. First of all, their veggies and fruits are not the best quality. The fruits are always bangged up and have black spots and the veggies are old and wilted. The loose potatoes and onions are old and soggy– I wonder how often they replinish with fresh produce. The staff are alwyays friendly and that is the only reason I go there in a pinch, I rather walk to Key Food on Queens Blvd.

Its located ½ block away from movie theater so i go there maybe once a week. Place is clean and see employees doing their job and i even saw manager working as if one of them. Once i thoght i purvhased an 3 items on sale, when home i noticed they were not didcounted, next day i went to complain but saw that I picked up wrong merch. They allowed me to exchange without problem. This place is as good as any supmket in town, it just looks small because it has lots of food, very well stocked, maybe too much. GO

It took me a little while to decide whether to give two or three stars here. This C-Town is TINY. It’s not the cleanest place and they don’t always have the freshest produce. In addition, there’s a strange odor emanating from the back of the store where they stock the cheeses. Why is that? That said, it’s still the closest place to my apartment so I find myself going in there a few times a week to get something quick(milk, bread, cereal…). Otherwise I try to go the Natural down the street in Forest Hills for produce and well… all my other food. Finally, I agreed to give an additional star because the cashiers are friendly. There was a time I didn’t think so, but after years of coming in and out of this place I’ve gotten friendly with them. So, extra star for the register ladies!

I come to C-Town for cheap stuff. Usually just a can of Ajax, rubber cleaning gloves, tin trays, and sometimes some sponges. It’s all under a dollar. The lines are quick and it’s a convenient location from where I am. It’s a small C-Town, probably the smallest I’ve ever been to but I’m in here for like 2 minutes and I’m out. I do most of my grocery shopping at Stop & Shop on Union Turnpike or Trader Joe’s on Metropolitan Ave and Woodhaven.

The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because I love the cashiers, otherwise it gets 1 star. Their produce sucks, their prices are almost doubled, and the store is gross. If I need something quick I’ll suck it up and walk there but usually I’ll wait till I do my big grocery trip at Stop n’ Shop.

I’ll never buy another product from this place. I bought a few Groceries here because my bank is right next-door. The food was rotten. I bought two packages of mini hotdogs in the crust. The crust was green. I tried to cook them anyway hoping they would come out okay. They turned a blackish shade. So gross. Avoid at all costs.

I hate this supermarket. Its small. cramped. and unorganized in the worst way. And yes, i am guilty of running in here to make a purchase on occassion but its does require SERIOUS consideration. I buy milk. cereal. cheese. and an occassional loaf of bread. Everything else is off limits. My roommate purchased some bananas that had been opened and then TAPED close… of course he didnt realize this till he peeled the damn thing. The cashiers are nasty. They roll their eyes. They suck their teeth. And while my apartment was being fumigated(dont ask) the exterminator told me this C-Town is a frequent customer… for flea treatments. WTF! btw, if you stil need to shop here there is a $ 10 min to use a credit card
