The Rotary Club of Key Biscayne Foundation Inc

The Rotary Club isn’t just for your grandfather. While some of the Rotarians (mostly men) might be old enough to be your great-​grandfather, the group is diverse in age, gender and nationality. The group meets at 7:30am on Friday’s at the Yacht Club and is one of the highlights to my week. Rotary may not be for everyone, but I enjoy learning at the meetings as the speakers are almost always fascinating. In the last three month’s I’ve gotten to hear the head of the Miami-​Dade Library system talk about his role and department, one of the organizers of the Volvo Ocean Race talk about the boats and what will happen when they are in Miami, students from MAST Academy talk about their community service projects and the list goes on. Like I said, not everyone may find these things as interesting, but I just love learning about these aspects of Miami in such an informal and intimate setting.
