On 7÷27÷15 I received a call from Home Again Microchip and that Susan from Grayvik Animal Care Center 305−367−4701 and said they found my stolen dog Paulie and to call them to get him back. When I called the women said it was a mistake and on repeated calls back they would not answer my calls(even with there answering machine going on) A man answer and states I have the wrong number I am calling a resident. What kind of Animal Care Center will not return a dog to it’s legal owner. Theses people are a DISGRACE. Bob Scutro 908−230−5644

This is part vet clinic, and part cat shelter extraordinaire. Back in the 60s, I’m told, the folks at Ocean Reef had a rodent problem. Not surprising since their enclave was built on the tip of the Key surrounded by mangroves and ocean front jungle. So, they brought in cats to control the rodents, and before long the rodent problem was replaced by a cat problem! A generation later, the rodent problem is a distant memory, and the kitty cats are a controlled and beloved part of Ocean Reef. A well endowed Foundation looks after their well being, spays & neuters the feral cats, and provides care and a loving home to those they can bring in. While there are plenty of spots to pet a friendly cat in the Reef, ORCAT is a large room with access to a porch and backyard where hundreds of cats await you to visit, pet, play with and otherwise be around them. The kids love it, and if you don’t mind the smell of cat pee(inevitable with this many animals in a room), you can sit on a bench and have cats come sit in your lap and feel your blood pressure and stress melt away. There is something incredibly relaxing and sweet about being around the animals, and the friendly staff here will show you around and help you enjoy.
