My favorite spot in Kihei. The portions are huge and all around yummy. Totally worth the wait. The loco moco is delish.

My favorite breakfast place! I ate here every morning of my trip! Thickest bacon I’ve ever had! The French toast was perfect too! Don’t leave without trying their snickers blended drink! Great local grabs here!

Food is delicious, and portions are huge. Highly recommend sharing. They have a full range of coffee drinks including cappuccino, espresso, late, frappuccino, and more. Plus fresh squeezed juices. Friendly staff who will help you out, outdoor eating to enjoy the fresh maui air and people watch. Are just a couple perks. The line moves fast so don’t let that deter you from going. Or, call in order to go, just walk right in 5 min later, grab order, and eat at the park across the street.

I’ll never eat here again. My wife found a blue pill in her breakfast and when she complained to the manager he said«nobody that works here does drugs» he then offered to reimburse her for her portion of her breakfast. Needless to say… we immediately left the premises. Be careful people… this is coming from a former loyal customer for 15 years! #gross I wish I had of taken a picture and brought the breakfast to the police station!

This is our regular go to breakfast place. It was only walking distance from our condo. You get in line right side of the building. You get in line to order, there is a huge wall menu. And look for the specials on the wall. We came a few times during our 7 day visit. Everything was good. Da Slam Breakfast, Loco Moco, Pork Fried Rice, French toast, etc. Everything was da bomb! Sitting on the outside near the street to eat was cool until you need to fight off the pigeons.

Line moves fast and food is incredible. Huge portions, very reasonable prices. Please note: CASHONLY. But they have an ATM inside so its all good. I’ve never had loco moco before so I was very hesitant to try it. Went for it anyway. SO good! Got it with the pork fried rice for an extra $ 3. Husband got the French toast slam, which isn’t on the menu but is on a sign inside. He loved it. We’d come back over and over again.

Going back to Maui after 7 years and can’t wait to eat here again. amazing breakfast. This will be the first place we go to! See you in 8 days! **just wanted to add to this review after we officially are here. We forgot they only take cash and because we did a whale watching excursion we didn’t have our debit card to use ATM. Unfortunately we already ordered, as we explained and were about to leave to get money the women at the register didn’t even hesitate in telling us to stay, eat, and come back to pay when you’re finished. She was incredibly kind about it, and we are very grateful for her understanding. So Kihei Café just became even better on our list, they are amazing!

Service is OK. No order service at the table. Go in and order and then grab a table. They ask that you not save a table ahead of time. The food is just average. Best item we ordered was the Pork Fried Rice, the eggs had no flavor and cold though. The French toast itself has no flavor. The toppings and syrup make it ok but I expected more. Especially given the rave reviews and longgggg lines in the early part of the day. We went close to Noon with no wait and plenty of open tables. Came here in 2009 and didn’t think much and feel the same now.

Ok, this place was fantastic! You know a restaurant it good when there is a line outside every morning. At first I was a little hesitant about waiting in the line but, once we ordered, it took only about 7 minutes for the food to be brought to our table — which is incredible for the amount of people that pass through their doors. Also, the service was incredible. Everyone that helped us was so happy and helpful. It definitely made the eating environment a positive one. On top of that, the food is great! We ordered the French toast with pineapple + coconut, the papaya + yogurt, the eggs rancheros and the #1. Everything tasted delicious and the portion sizes were great. We will definitely be going again. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and we’d love to try the pancakes.

Good place for breakfast with reasonable prices. Great ingredients, awesome selection, and a cute aloha ambiance. My sister ordered the Banana Macadamian Nut Pancakes, and I the Kalua Pork Loco Moco. The coconut syrup was what made the pancake delicious with a touch of aloha. Yum. My kalua pork loco moco was satisfying. Delicious gravy, perfect orange yolks, and the kalua pork was soft and flavorful. The food comes out quickly and there’s plenty of condiments to enjoy your meal with. I looked around and noticed the french toast and their loco mocos were what was popular. I’d definitely return to enjoy whatever else they have to offer. This place is cash only with only outside seating. They share parking with the other businesses in the area.

Dec. 28, 201512:30pm Really late review, but better late than never. ;) We love to support small businesses so decided to finally try Kihei Caffe. I also met the owner, Barry, once & he is so sweet! First off this is a CASHONLYSPOT. Also, you order before picking a table. No saving tables! Service: We walked in on them counting their tips, sorry. Staff was nice & friendly. Food: My husband ordered a steak cooked medium with eggs over easy which came with potatoes & a biscuit. — he said the potatoes & biscuit was good, eggs were over easy, but the steak was ok. Not cooked medium & a little thin. I ordered their loco moco with fried rice. Their fried rice is so delicious. No overpowering flavor in there. The gravy was good, but I didn’t really like the patty they use. It was thin & really tough to eat. Everything else was great though! Both of use shared a large biscuits & gravy! SOSOSOOOONO! I would seriously go back just for that. The gravy is awesome & the biscuit is super soft!!! The best one I’ve ever tried! Tastes homemade! The birds & flies is vicious in this joint, but we live in Hawaii we’re used to this type of thing. I love the fresh air, but the tables are a little TOO close together. I had some lady’s behind in my space while I was trying to eat. Not too pleasing. Overall we’ll be back, but take it Togo if that’s possible. There’s still a lot of things on their menu I want to try.

Kihei Caffe is the place to visit on Maui if you want to eat a hearty breakfast or lunch with the locals. This is a no frills beach spot open from 5am till 2pm. You walk inside to take your order and then grab a spot to sit in the small covered patio outside. Once your food is ready, they will walk your food to you. The staff are incredibly friendly and laid back. The burgers are made from local Maui beef. They are simple, juicy, and fresh. This is a great people watching spot, as the café is located across from Kalama park and the beach. This is a cash only spot. They do have a atm inside that you can get cash at, incase you forget.

According to the dad, «Pork fried rice was very good, real sausage, not greasy, eggs were cooked to perfection, just the right amount so I don’t feel stuffed.» He was saving room for the pie at Maui Pie down the street. Mom says, «Just like I remembered. :)» Aside from the birds threatening to nibble your toes, Kihei Caffe was quite satisfying. Sizeable portions of good food at a good price, though the food wasn’t out of this world amazing. Splitting with a friend to get the sweet and savory experience would be the way to go. Cash only.

I give this place four stars because I question the customer service. I sat at a table while my husband was ordering and he was in sight, walking back, and this woman says, have you ordered yet, I said yes my husband just got done. She said I need this table now so you need to move. In shock, I said ok and moved. You could say I was a little blown away by this! It was unexpected and slightly rude — and I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Ok now onto the food. The food itself is delicious. I had the loco moco with fried rice and my husband had the banana and macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup. They were so delicious I wish I could have eaten all of it! The portions are huge! My moco loco was scrumptious and what made it SO darn good was the gravy! I’ve had quite a few loco moco’s in my day and this one was the winner by far! The pancakes were also delightful — dense and delicious. One word of advice — get there before 9:30am — the line is quite long! We will be back — despite the rude lady.

Brunch place that offers your basic choices as well as options with a Hawaiian twist! I ordered the pork fried rice with fried eggs. OMG — so good! My sister ordered the french toast with eggs, bacon, and a side of home potatoes. Mmmm. It was so good, we went back the next day. The line can be long but the wait isn’t that long. And it’s fun to see the plates of food pass by. Seating is outside so there are birds that can be bothersome. Parking lot in the back.

November 16, 2015 Monday — 8:30AM for breakfast 4 adults Atmosphere — 5 star Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Needing some breakfast today and they are near our place. Atmosphere — A small place with their seating outside. The line gets long fast here. But the kitchen can turn that around quickly. Food Drinks — water for me. Main course — Three slices of French toast made with Maui sweet bread. I ordered mine plain but some fresh fruit would be great on top, a little extra for that. Still very good without the fruit. Service — They hustle here and still very polite. Future — Love to come back. Only made it hear once on vacation.

Go here HANGRY or at least HUNGRY. The portions are huge! Get here early(meaning between 7 – 8 a.m.) to avoid the massive line independent of the day of the week. You’ll first go in and order, pay, and then find a place to sit. The menu is extensive and I believe has something for everyone. I landed on the #1 Two Eggs, Bacon, Home Fries, Biscuit for $ 8.95. If you are a gravy enthusiast then have them slather some on your biscuit(it is a sausage gravy and is very good). This place does mad business and it has to be due to their quick service, hearty food, and fair prices. Definitely going back to try their other menu options.

When we were in Maui, we stayed in Kihei. It is one of the most recommended places to have breakfast by locals. You stand in line to order your food. Note: They do not accept card. Cash only. But if you do not know this ahead of time, there is an ATM machine conveniently located inside. If you ordered coffee, it’s $ 1 for every refill. We ordered the Loco Moco, Banana Pancakes with Macadamia nuts, fried rice and the Kalua Pork Moco. Every single item we ordered, were flavorful and delicious. The fried rice was so good. Something you definitely must try when you come by here. Everything was delicious and the portions are huge! The servers are always so loud and vibrant. The location is literally right next to the road with an outside seating and a view of the beach. This had been our go to spot for breakfast when we stayed in Maui. Good comfort food for a reasonable price.

I tried to eat at mostly breakfast spots with good local food versus overpriced hotel breakfast buffets. Kihei seemed extremely popular with a line out the door but it moved pretty quickly! Plus, by the time you find a seat to sit down, they’ll have the food out ready for you. The staff is so nice! They’re working hard and pushing out food left and right. It’s amazing how fast your order comes out. Just be sure to listen for your name to be called out as no table numbers are given. You order inside and walk outside where all the tables are located. Try to save a table and the staff will make comments hinting you shouldn’t be sitting there until your order has been placed. The Loco Moco is HUGE. Any order with white or fried rice will be more than enough. We came here twice during our trip and had leftovers each time. I like their generous gravy serving and fried rice, just wish they threw in another patty. The ratio of rice and gravy to beef patty isn’t what i’d imagine but one patty seems to be standard at all local restaurants. I had to have french toast just to eat it with the coconut syrup. You don’t need maple syrup when you have coconut syrup! it tastes nuttier and lighter(although i’m sure not lighter in sugar or calorie wise)… No frills type of place. Diner silverware, various seating, and nothing fancy. Just good food!
