The fish tacos are good. Seriously good. We normally get the Napili Burritos. Which I highly recommend also. As long if you are HUNGRY. Because it will fill you up, and if it’s for lunch, you may not need dinner. Make sure to sample all the salsas, they are amazing each in their own individual way. Try any of the Maui Taco locations, they are pretty consistent from place to place. Now with that said: If you read my previous review below, I have since received a sincere apology from the Owner of Maui Tacos.(not just this store but all of them) And he has guarantied me that he will have a conference with all of his store managers and the military discount will be honored at each and every location. Thank you for your attention.

We had some tacos tonight, the original and a hard taco, that were very good! However, I wouldn’t crown them the king of tacos or anything, good portion size, very tasty, salsa was ok, the hot salsa wasn’t hot at all. If you gotta eat a taco to satisfy a craving, this’ll do it! Yes this was our first time dining there. We are coming back before we leave this Thursday and will update the review accordingly! :) thank you for the nice reply!

A maui original and a delicious spin in some of your Mexican favorites. Great food, huge portions, and reasonable prices ! My favorite is the Baja fish bowl topped with their pineapple salsa. Must try!

Didn’t think it could get worse than the woman who took our order(rude) then I had the disgusting fish tacos. The texture and taste were horrible, I have no idea what I ate. One bite and I was done. Don’t believe the hype !!

Baka grilled fish tacos were great. Pineapple salsa was the way to go, too. My brother had a Lahaina, wet. I tried some and it was amazing.

I am another get off the plane and head to Maui Tacos person, but this location just has a problem with getting timely food out. 15 – 20 minutes is very common at this Maui Tacos. It is disappointing because the other locations on the island get service and food right. Mexican/Hawaiian food should be hot and on time… the lady behind the register was on the phone with a family member about 10 of the minutes I waited. You can do much better.

It’s a fine place to get some lunch in, very mellow and homey environment. I got the fish salad or something like that to share with a friend and we totally forgot to tell the cashier we didn’t want any cheese on it… instead of being nice, she yelled out and was like«I already put in the order!!!»…rude much??? Salad came out without any cheese so it was resolved but still, I understand people have bad days and all but if that’s the type of service I’m getting here then no thanks! I’ll take my business elsewhere where cashiers/workers know how to be sincere to paying customers.

Looking for something fast and fairly cheap you’ve got it. But I wasn’t impressed at all with the quality or taste of the food. I ordered a fish taco and a vegetarian taco. I barely had time to read the menu so I was actually surprised that I liked the vegetarian taco WAY better than the fish taco. The vegetarian taco had beans, rice, lettuce, potatoes(an interesting but tasty twist), tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole. The fish taco however was just overly salty fish, cabbage, and a creamy sauce. Both came with a handful of chips to accompany the salsa bar. There were 5 or 6 salsa choices and only two that i liked. I love salsa bars so I was excited that they had it but disappointed that they all tasted kinda like dishwater. Considering most other food around the area is really expensive, this place is an option when you’re on a budget.

This place is a good American Mexican food place. It really isn’t Mexican but all the food is made fresh and the horchata is great and taste amazing. The food is good. A little more expensive than most Mexican places you may be used to but that’s because it’s not real Mexican food. Just think Maui meets Mexico and this is what you get. The burritos are really huge and totally satisfy your hunger. Don’t get me wrong this place does taste good and the service is absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for something quick around this area and you want something a little different come on in and enjoy.

I usually always end up coming to Maui Tacos once or twice during my trips because I know they are a good affordable quick option. On our most recent trip we came here twice and both times were OK, not good just OK. We usually always get burritos and this time was no different. I had the Shark Pit(meat, beans and cheese) and my husband had a Hookipa(fish) smothered burrito. Both were quite good and I do like that they come with chips and they have the salsa bar. On another occasion this trip I ran in to order some food togo and was a little bummed that they do not really sell anything a la carte and the employees were kind of rude about that. Oh well I got my quesadilla and got out of there. I will probably return since it is usually so easy and more cost effective than some options.

We tried this place once during our recent trip to Maui. The place was packed. We ordered couple of vegetarian bowls to go. The food arrived on time and there seemed to be a ton of salsa options. The food was just bad. It had a very stale oily after taste and too salty. The pinto beans and potatoes were cooked so much that the potatoes almost looked like mashed potatoes! It was a soggy, oily, salty meal. I had to go get a coffee to ensure the aftertaste was gone. I’d avoid this place, especially if veggie tacos, potatoes are your only options.

I decided to check out this restaurant after strolling the area and seeing«Best Tacos in Maui» on the front door. It did not disappoint. The Tacos were great. I had the Pork and Chicken tacos with Nachos. The sauces were great and the Maui take on Mexican taste was tasty and well worth trying. The prices were also reasonable. Trying the Kale and Pineapple drinkd was also unique. The drinks were refreshing and flavorful.

After two fantastic meals at Taqueria Cruz and Roasted Chiles respectively, Maui Tacos brought the standard for Mexican food on Maui plummeting down. Things looked oh so promising – the place was packed to the brim when we first arrived, with the line snaking its way up to the door. But then… we ordered. One of the options on their menu is the«beach tacos» platter. Since there was no explanation of what a beach taco was anywhere else on the menu, my boyfriend asked the woman ringing us up at the counter. She looked at him like he was being incredibly stupid, and then answered him in an exasperated manner. After that show, I feel like the $ 1 tip I left was too much – there was no «good» associated with that service. While waiting for the food to be prepared, I stocked up on a couple of different kinds of salsa from the bar. The salsas were admittedly the highlight of my meal, as they were the most flavourful things around. My fish tacos contained soft meat, but there was just not enough flavour in them. Perhaps you’re expected to provide the flavour yourself by adding some salsa, but that would be a first for me – every other taco joint I’ve been to has expected the salsa to enhance existing flavour rather than provide the base flavour itself. The Mexican rice that accompanied the tacos was admittedly pretty tasty, but the pinto beans were absolutely bland and yet another disappointment. Next time I’m in Maui, I will avoid this place like the plague. There are tons of better options for fish tacos on the island, with much better service to boot.
