Really need to go back to try their layer cake! Didn’t have any the day I went :( Spam musubis are awesome! Love the spice on the spicy. Doughnut holes(malasadas)-really good fresh! Plain was my favorite. Cinnamon bun– come in the AM and get them hot & fresh! Saw a cop walk out with 4 of them and had to try. So freaking good. Key lime pie– not the best, too sweet. Their chex mix. Interesting and enjoyed snacking on plane ride home but really really sweet! Wish it was less sweet a little more salty instead. Great service and a few seats outside.

Small and sweet! Especially luv the Maui Pie, Banana crème with bananas graham cracker type crust with whipped cream. Perfect size for 2. Also have had the ham & cheese croissant! Yummmmm The picture below is not how I have seen them this past year. The Maui Pies are fully mounded on the entire top up to about 2″!

We went for the malasadas. The place smelled like heaven as soon as you walked in the door. The combination of sweet and savory pies, multi-layered cake slices and fresh baked goods, make one trip, just not enough.

This bakery is sooo good. Their banana bread is one of a kind. I also got the coconut pie and wow that was delicious.

So we have been there twice in two days so that should say something. The fresh malasadas between 6 and 9 are awesome. The sandwich was unique and they even put it on the panini. Tasted Great. The mango bread and strawberry streusel was off de hook bruddah! Waiting for the special Queen Emmy cake soon. The staff are great and friendly. We will be back!

Came here solely to give their lilikoi key lime pie a try. Love all things citrus so it was a no-brainer. I was really hoping to buy some musubis too but they were out by the time we got there. So let me tell you about this pie, the crust is sweet and crumbly and the entire pie itself was perfectly tart. If you make your way here, you must grab yourself a mini pie. It’s absolutely divine. Other than that, I wasn’t really enticed to buy any other desserts they had out so I suppose my 4 stars goes solely for their lilikoi key lime pie!

Nothing is better than a great bakery, and Sugar Beach is a great bakery by the sea! Across from where Kihei canoe club has their boats, Sugar Beach dishes up top quality and tasty baked goods that would rival any big city’s. The delicious Maui onion tart, croissants, and of course their always a sellout masaladas, muffins, and of course delicious coconut cream pies. Need I say more? Just load up, take it home, and enjoy it all week.

Ok place. Waited for fresh malasadas but they only had sugar one, none filled. Nothing like Leonards in Oahu!

I got there pretty late so choices were limited. It’s a super cute little bake shop with what appears to be all sorts of tasty goods. I got a bran muffin(I know super boring!!), but it was delic! Super moist and very flavorful. I’m trying to cut down on sugar and fat so although the cream pies looked pretty tasty, I sadly had to say no. Solid little bake shop that is worth a visit if you’re driving by.

I came here later during the morning around 11ish and they only had 4 malasadas left. They were all cream filled and a bit disappointing. They tasted like oil and we’re pretty dense. I was hoping for the soft puffy ones like the ones at Leonard’s in Oahu. The other pastries looked good but I came here for the sole purpose of malasadas. Onto the next place!

I hate to do this… The 3 stars… Because I LOVE Ululani’s and have spread the word about how great they are to anyone who would listen. This trip we made a trip to Kihei JUST to visit Sugar Beach — I was excited after reading review to support the business! And, let me clarify– the low stars has nothing to do with food… The food is AMAZING! Got the chocolate banana pie and a Daily Special which as a Nutella Dish– both were TERRIFIC! I hated to share! And got some Ululani’s gear too because we love to rep Ululani’s! Now for the three stars– the tall girl working there was SO rude! Which was shocking and sad since every other Ululani’s employee has been awesome in our experience. This young lady seemed annoyed when we came in, then I ordered a cinnamon roll and immediately changed my mind– she hadn’t boxed or bagged it and it could easily just have been set back down in the display. When I changed my mind I apologized(just cause I have manners) and made some comment about everything looking so good. She was so rude– seemed like I had completely impositions her. Said with a sigh and eye roll«what’s up… Another sigh… What do you want?» Oh, and we(my husband and I) were the only two people in the store… So it’s not like we were holding up a line. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I was really disappointed to have this girl be so rude.

Sugar beach bakery is about the cutest little shop I’ve ever been in. There are so many delectable choices for breakfast that it made it hard to decide. I went with the strawberry coconut scone. It is as good as it sounds. I took a Broke Da Mouth Cinnamon Roll to go and it was devoured the next morning for breakfast by my husband… I got two whole bites-but man! They were delicious bites :) There is trail mix, granola, banana bread and cookies. Plenty of snacks to grab on your way to the beach. They also have a deli that serves sandwiches and some other items. The bakery is conveniently located in North Kihei next-door to Ululani’s. There is plenty of seating available outside in front of the bakery. Parking can be limited at times but in the morning it seems to be good. There is apparel for sale in a variety of sizes and colors inside of the shop. You can get your treats and your souvenirs at the same time-two birds, one stone. And you leave with a happy tummy! They are only open until 4 o’clock daily! Make a stop at Sugar Beach Bakery and be the office hero!

Leoda’s move over! This is the place for pies! My sister had raaaaaved about Leodas and told me that I had to stop by for some pie during my trip to Maui with Pinky… obviously girlfriend never tried Sugar Beach Bake Shop. First of all, way more welcoming, nicer service! Leodas is honestly such a tourist trap to me, make the drive to Kihei and get some genuine smiles, friendliness, and appreciation while you order some tasty treats from SBBS! Looking for some tasty musubis instead of going to Foodland for it, SBBS’ spicy musubi caught my eye. First of all, usually I have to eat poke with my musubis bc a lot of places put too much rice and not enough spam. SBBS puts a perfect ratio of rice, spam, and furikake into their musubis that poke wasn’t necessary for me. Banana bread was so fragrant in bananas and so moist, Pinky bought practically all their banana bread on display to bring back home. Chocolate banana cream pie, wow… I tried the pies at Leodas and found them to be overly sweet with an overcooked crust. SBBS’ chocolate banana pie was sweet yes, but deliciously so with just the right amount of crust, bananas, chocolate and whipped cream. They don’t have smaller mini sizes like Leodas, so I ended up ordering the one size that they do have and ate ¾ of it by myself. It was that good. A perfect substitute for the chocolate haupia pie I searched for but could not find. If I ever come back to Maui, I will make sure to stop by SBBS more than once. Until then I’ll just tell my friends that are going to Maui about them!

Nice, but not great. The custard of the lilikoi key lime pie was good, but the graham cracker crust was tasteless. Banana bread«strudel» was good, but a bit dry. Neither was worth a special trip. Big selection of desserts, but all one size — a size too big for one person, but not big enough to easily share.

We came here for the«malasadas»(Hawaiian donuts), but we found out they serve them here only on Saturdays and Sundays in the morning. But in the display window… out of the corner of our eyes, we happen to catch sight of a lovely little mini coconut cream pie in the display window. They had some good looking treats beside the Coconut Cream Pie. They had Banana Cream, and Macarone Sandwiches, mini loaf breads like banana bread and they had a Mango Bread that looked pretty tempting. But the only thing we tasted was the Coconut Cream Pie and it was out of this world. Best I’ve ever had. I downed it in just a few bites. We’re planning to go back on Saturday for the Hawaiian donuts, so no worries, more can be had! I’ll take pictures on Saturday to show the goodness of both pie and donuts! I’m giving a generous five star rating based on the pie alone, but I’ll update on Saturday.

Arrived here around 2pm and they didn’t have what I wanted to try — which was the mango/strawberry cheesecake. Ended up getting two of the cutest Malasadas(90 cents each or $ 10 for a dozen) in Kehai and an iced coffee ;) the custard was spot on — not too sweet and extremely smooth. As for the donut part, I found it rather tough and chewy instead of light and fluffy but overall, a decent little snack!

This out of the way bakery is easily missed. Thank goodness for the map app on my phone or we’d probably still be looking for it. On a lazy Sunday morning, we had time to venture out and a lilikoi pie search took us here. When we got there, people were mostly getting food from the shave ice place next door or shopping at the ABC store that shares the same parking lot. My choices were the mango strawberry cheesecake( ) which was pretty good but didn’t really stand out. Being thirsty, I also ordered a lilikoi lemonade( ) which was tasty and packed with a decent amount of ice which kept it cold. The cookies and breakfast pastries looked tempting but, since we were making other stops, buying and leaving in the car was not an option. The young lady was very kind and smiling as we asked questions and bought our goods. Will try their signature lilikoi key lime pie next time… but, who knows when I’ll be back to Maui?!

We were at the farmers market when I saw this shop and had to come in! The display case had many selections of cream pies, cheesecakes, cakes and other sweets to choose from. The coconut macadamia nut cream pie sounded and looked delicious… It tasted even better! The crust was crisp and sweet! The cream filling was super smooth and the light whipped cream topping was fabulous. I loved the crunch of the macadamia nuts!

Can’t speak for the baked goods, but the spam masubi and spicy spam masubi is OUTOFTHISWORLD, and $ 2 a pop! Go before 10am to ensure they don’t sell out. They only make limited quantities… I wish they sold more of that in SF. Missing these little snacks dearly!
