I am not sure a real person wrote the other two posts, because if they knew anything about the history of the business they would know this business from the 1980’s to 1998 or later (military stopped pursuing) was on the black list by Fort Hood because of continuous incidents of ripping off the soldier. However in the late 90’s the tone of fort hood generals changed and instead of taking care of soldiers it changed to how do we cooperate with local businesses. At one time all the check cashing places (with high interest rates were kicked out of killeen area because the military demanded that, but they are back again)
The main gate is named after the biggest rip off artist of soldiers, but now he is the best friend of fort hood. amazing how times and how history is altered just for a business deal. With that said Modern Appliance still continues to rip off soldiers and in my case sale shotty appliances and then tells the customer to deal with the manufacturer for warranty, eventhough the store should have taken it back. its been almost a year and half and I am still dealing with a faulty appliance put in by this company because my builder does business with them. I would have never done business with them personally. Stay away from the business if you have any common sense

I highly recommend this place. If you are going to buy any appliances in Killeen, don’t be afraid to venture to downtown Killeen and see the folks at Modern TV & Appliance. The first thing you will notice is the cute throwback exterior… you will think you have traveled back in time. The parking is up front, 3 steps, and 10 ft of sidewalk and you are at the door. You will think it is a small place and does not have enough to show you. But, wait for it… the store opens up into a huge, comfy, uncrowded showroom with more appliance than I have ever seen in the any big box store. This family owned, operated business will give you the care and service no one at a big box store has the time or knowledge to give you. I got everything I wanted for my new home there (stove, dishwasher, Microwave) and saved about $ 1000 from the best quotes of the big box stores, for the same appliances or better. The sales staff here have the time and expertise to ask you the right questions about what you want and need out of you appliances then offer you the array of choices to meet those needs. Finally, when the appliances arrived at our new home, they were perfect and the installer was a knowledgable, pleasant, clean, well spoken professional in his line of work instead of some contract company that had no real relationship with the sellers. I will never go to anyone else.
