I love Madwell! They have a great selection of clothes and everything is always neat and tidy in the store. The employees are always friendly, helpful and attentive. Also, you can get an extra 15% off if you are a student and show your student ID! My only complaint(and it’s not the store’s fault), is that the sale section rarely ever goes below 30% off. :(

I’m glad this store is here, but the customer service sucks. I have been here probably 10 – 15 times and have never had a good experience. No one greets you when you come in, no one asks you if you need help or other sizes, if you need a fitting room, nothing. I always have to ask to try something on and they act like they’re doing you a favor by having the store open. Forget about the cashier… you should say thank you to a customer. It’s pretty easy to have good customer service.

Clothes are awesome for my beautiful 16 yr old. Unfortunately the customer service doesn’t match the price. We were in the store over an hour & no one asked to help us find sizes or styles. There were 3 very young«sales associates» hanging out in front of the dressing room chatting the whole time. When I turned to look at them a third time someone offered to start a fitting room. Once we were in the fitting room no one checked to see if we needed other sizes. We did buy things because the styling is great and the staff was nice at the cash register but the«service» experience could be best classified as benign neglect.

So I usually frequent the one in center city but was introduced to the brand by this store. I don’t recommend this particular store because it’s ALWAYS a mess and the cashiers are rude. Not to mention it’s super tiny. If you can avoid the KOP location and shop online or on Walnut St in CC.

Victoria at Madewell in King of Prussia should review what customer service is and maybe get a lesson on manners. She is rude and abrasive. She is probably not the best representation for the company.

Madewell has amazing styling — simple, classic pieces, more sophisticated than the over-worked and overly-adorned clothing of the Urban brands(think Brooks Brothers sophistication + Barneys style + a bit of Free People’s lightheartedness), with an emphasis on quality pieces that can easily become wardrobe staples. I had been having issues reconciling my work wardrobe(a new phenomena in my life) with my personal style, and Madewell solved that problem the second I walked in the store. I’ve never been more happy to go from work to the weekend in the same outfit. To boot, their after-Christmas sale offered 30% off already ridiculously marked down prices. I ended up with two jackets and a shirt for the price of one heinous wool sweater(which was one bad Christmas gift turned good). So while prices are high off the bat, sales make it quite manageable. This place is in fact so great that I will continue to pretend I never found out that it is a J. Crew brand.

Based on the styles and service in evidence yesterday at the King of Prussia mall location of Madewell, my first visit will not be my last.(Shut up, Signor Visa — you’ll get your blood money eventually.) I was lured in to the store by the overall chic and clean look of the clothing displayed in the windows, and was rewarded inside by denim without bedazzling of any sort, beautifully-made sweaters, jodhpur-styled leggings and dresses evoking a 1930s simplicity. On-trend wooden-soled clogs and lace-up boots completed the picture of Depression-era style. The designer Alexa Chung had just released a collection for Madewell on 9÷15÷2010, so I was able to paw her ankle-length silk skirts and gorgeous blazers, as well as the classic denim collections. The girls working in the shop greeted me pleasantly, didn’t hover, asked casually if I needed help finding anything, and were helpful in locating items in different colors or sizes. The dressing rooms were bright and had flattering lighting. What more could you ask for?

I went to madewell for the first time during the Christmas rush. This was the only store in all of KOP that provided excellent customer service despite the holiday madness that ensues. Every salesperson was extremely helpful without being annoying. I even doubled back to get a few more things. I wish there was one in Philly – I’d be there all the time! It’s a little pricey, but that is to be expected since this is J. Crew’s sister store.
