First of all, let me say… this was the NICEST Motel 6 I’ve ever stayed in! And the price was still the cheapest in town! But the water pressure in the shower was so very low, it nearly was a deal-breaker. :( We went to an event at the Cat Haven, almost an hour away in the Sierra foothills, but could not find reasonably-priced lodging close by. We didn’t mind staying in Kingsburg, as it was on our way back home anyway, and it really is a charming little town with plenty of Swedish motifs in honor of its early settlers. I love the newly-remodeled rooms, the furniture was of dark wood and looked very classy! The laminate floor was comfortable and everything was super clean. But why oh why can’t we get any decent water pressure for the shower, Motel 6? That is just WRONG! I didn’t want to even bother addressing it with the office. Otherwise, a nice clean cheap place to stay! :)

Posting because I hate when it’s hard to find this information. As of this post this Motel 6 has NOT been remodeled with laminate hardwood floors like most of the ones I’ve stayed in. Also not the cleanest. Pretty quiet though.

After coming from Sequoia Park on the way to Pismo Beach, my husband and I, along with our newborn were exhausted. We decided to stop midway to get some zzz’s. From the exterior, this Motel 6 looked alright. We check in, enter the room, and it’s kind of clean. The bathroom smelled like someone missed the toilet more than once a day(and clearly wasn’t cleaned). The air conditioner smelled weird, but that wasn’t a biggie.(They should change the filters or clean them though.) While I was sitting at the desk eating a meal, I saw a fly. I grabbed a magazine to smash it, hit it against the mirror. It fell behind the desk. So, I looked under the desk so that I could throw the fly away. But, instead, I see a pile of DOGPOOP! Can you believe that?! Thank God that my baby doesn’t crawl yet. And I was probably rubbing my shoe on it. Good thing I was wearing my shoes! It had to have been there for at least a couple of days since it was pretty hard! I surely wouldn’t let anyone crawl nor wear bare feet on that floor. It’s not like the cost is super cheap either. You can find even nicer hotels for around $ 70. I went to the front desk to speak with the manager about the feces and the bathroom. He did not seem surprised nor concerned. He replied, «Do you want me to clean it up? Do you want another room?» I replied, «Somebody needs to clean it up. Most places of business would be concerned in this type of unsanitary circumstance. You really should be more concerned with the cleanliness of the motel. And we are exhausted, otherwise, we would not even stay here. It’s absolutely disgusting. The only thing clean are the sheets. We already took everything out of the car. Most people would get a significant discount or full refund for this.» He said, «I can give you a 10% discount.» –_– We’re not the ones looking for hand-outs. It’s the PRINCIPLE. I’m so disgusted that we even stayed in there. I could barely sleep. The bathroom smelled so bad and I kept thinking, «What else is on that carpet?» I’d understand if this occurred at an hourly joint, but not here. I usually only write reviews about places and things that I’ve enjoyed and recommend to travelers. But, this is a unique case. I recommend that this management and cleaning staff step it up, not like the movie, but step up your life, character and concern for others. Customers should not be paying to stay in a room with dog feces and human urine. Come on. Really! Get it together! This place should be shut down for their unhygienic standards.

This place doesn’t deserve not even one star ! Drity! Nasty! The tub had hairs the sheets were stained and the carpet was not vacuumed. Gross!

Comparing to those in area. I wanted to give a 5. At first glance, looked clean and neat. It was very quiet. Most quiet hotel we’d been in ages. They even allow pets! And the price was very good for the area. The clerk was very nice. As time went, all sterotypes of Motel 6 and certain others applied. The previous owners must have kept it up really well. The furniture was good, refrigerator even ran quiet. Nice updating. Then if you look closer, it was apparent that the new owners were against using vaccums. One of the beds had a nasty, fresh stain on the sheets. There were way too many hand towels supplied for a normal hotel stay… disturbingly too many. Woke up in morning to owner hosing down parking lot. With a hose… really. In a drought area on water restrictions. Where farmer’s are losing farms because of the water shortage. Enough water to hose a black top but not enough to wash sheets?

Honestly wish I could give negative stars. Tried to call my friend’s room because his cell phone died and a guy whose name sounded like it was Haiti answered. I didn’t know what name the room was under since my friend was with a party and he instantly got annoyed and told me to call his cell phone and hung up on me.
