CLOSED for good as of 08⁄2015. Check out nearby bakeries such as Outdated Café, Deising’s, DUO Bistro, The Cake Box or Grounded. Shame this place closed but it seemed pricey for small portions and had a somewhat cold/austere atmosphere.

Very few cakes were on display — only a flourless chocolate cake(which were very small pieces), macarons, and several quiches. I got the flourless chocolate cake and the taste was basic. Incredibly disappointing and overpriced. Waitress who served me was also unfriendly. Just a bad experience overall.

What a wonderful addition to Uptown Kingston — or as it seemed Paris on the Hudson — after a leisurely and light weekend lunch of quiche and salad with friends. With fresh pastries to tempt even those without a sweet tooth, this delightful bakery is a must stop if you’re in the area. The Stumptown coffee is brewed to perfection, the owner, baker, and waitress is just tops!(summer will see more staff). She’s incredibly kind and accommodating — and a fabulous baker too! Searching for authentic Madeleine’s? Macarons? Gluten-free offerings? Look no further.

Why 5 stars? Because most places in the Hudson Valley are so underwhelming that when you happen upon some place that is REALLY good, it is like finding water in the middle of the desert. Treats not over-stuffed with sugar. Again, rare in these here parts.

Dropped into Seraphine earlier today for a late breakfast. My friend and I liked the coffee, which was freshly brewed and served in a very large mug. We split a gluten-free quiche, which was delicious — chock full of fresh vegetables and custardy eggs, perfectly seasoned. Our almond croissants were stand outs: flaky outside and moist inside, with just the right touch of sweetness. Best croissant I’ve had outside of a NYC patisserie. I wish there were more comfortable chairs and that the place was a bit more cozy, but I will return to sample the other pastries w/a nice mug of their fresh coffee. I should mention that service was excellent and quite pleasant.
