I just recently visited Computronics because my external hard drive crashed. I first took the HD to a place in the U-District called Progressive Tech or something because it was so close. Although they seemed nice, the place gave off this feeling that they were trying to up-sell me and they quoted me 500 bucks to «maybe» get the files back. I decided I would look around for another opinion which brought me to Computronics in Kirkland. The service was great and the people there seemed more honest and to the point. Not only did they recover the files ASAP but for a fraction of the cost. At the very least I would recommend coming here just to talk to them and see what they can do. You never know but it might save you a few hundred dollars in the long run.

Computronics– the service is pleasant and all the work is relatively inexpensive. I am not pleased at all with results. Technician has no sense what a home computer should be like and ads software that is not privacy oriented. Shared data. Technician seems to look around often and not find source of problems, computer has been taken in repeatedly for the same problem bill comes back with very minimal time spent and no real fix. Computer hardware in worse state and the machine makes increasing vibration sounds after work having been done. This desktop is actually very loud now and makes a constant buzzing sound then lopes up into a swinging vibration when the fan comes on really very loud. This should not get worse after technician handles it but actually does get louder in operation and is currently audible like a buzz and chortle with hard drive vibrating in chassis. This work is unacceptable and has basically proven that they do not achieve improvement with time spent. Cheap price

My Dell XPS Desktop computer started showing some scary error messages and wouldn’t boot. I messed around with some of the boot menus and BIOS and suspected that my hard drive was no longer functioning. But I don’t have any diagnostic equipment and don’t know a damn thing about computers, so I needed to take it to a place to be checked out. Computronics had the best reviews in my area, so I took it there. I was helped by Margy. I was charged $ 100 for the first hour of labor, and that was all I was charged for labor, although I’m sure more than an hour was spent on my machine. A few hours later, Margy called me back to tell me she had confirmed that the problem was my hard drive, and that it would have to be replaced. She told me they had a couple of hard drives in stock if I wanted to buy from them. I asked her to email me the information so I could show it to a computer-savvy friend. She summarized everything and sent it to me. My friend confirmed that these were decent prices for hard drives, and advised me on which one to get. His advice was the same as Margy’s regarding the possibility of buying a new hard drive. I asked her to install one of the hard drives she had in stock. Three hours later, Margy had installed the new hard drive, put Vista on the computer(I didn’t have my own Vista disks, just the code), and had installed most of my drivers for me. In total, I was only charged for one hour of labor plus the cost of the hard drive, which was $ 75. The service was quick, friendly, and thorough. With 24 hours and $ 175, my computer is good as new. I will take my computer there if it ever breaks again.

Terrible service. would never go back. They took over a week to tell me they could not fix my laptop. So I go and buy a new one for them to tell me they could put a new hard drive on it for way less than a new laptop cost. The communication was terrible. At one point the gal said why didn’t you call us? I said because when I said I would call in a day or so after I dropped it off you told me NOTTOCALLYOU, that you would call when you figured out what was wrong. She kept telling the owner one thing and me something else to cover her butt. IT was so frustrating I never even went back to get my computer as they were so rude(the owner too). I rarely complain… but in this case the SERVICEWASNOTGOOD!!! THISACTUALLYHAPPENEDSEVERALMONTHSBACK, BUT I AMSTILLBOTHEREDATHOWTHEYHANDLEDTHINGS… ANDTHEYSTILLCHARGEDME $ 100FORNOTHING.

I went in with a broken hard drive and they were upfront and honest with me about the costs. I knew my case was pretty hopeless going in, and I’m glad they didn’t try to scam me or get my hopes up. I didn’t ultimately buy any service, but I give them major points for honesty. A lesser store would have gotten my hopes up, charged me $ 100 to look at it, and then told me it was hopeless.

Excellent service! They are very knowledgeable when it comes to computers and peripherals. They even offered me free advice as to how I might fix one of my problems on my own. Their prices are very reasonable, too.
