I went in to see Dr. Swan regarding a problem with one of my shoulder blades. Even before i saw Dr. Swan i was toldhow awesome our Premera insurance coverage is which seemed odd. Dr. Swan took X rays and immediately set me up for approximately 12 more appointments over the next few weeks(even before reading my X rays). Two days later I went in and he went over my X rays with my husband and I. He found many significant issues with my back. The first was scoliiosis. Bad enough he pointed out«some doctors would want to put rods in your spine». Second, apparently my c2 and c3 vertabrae had fused. I apparently also had osteoporosis in my skull, my head thrust forward too much and my lower back is misaligned over my sacrum. He said that all these issues would become worse with time without his treatment. Oh, and he diagnosed digestive problems too. My husband pointed out that my front facing X ray appeared that I was actually turned slightly as one of my shoulder blades did not look right. He was assured that it looked that way because I had turned my head. After my Appointment, I left worried and frankly frightened. After talking with my husband we decided if I had such significant issues I should go to a specialist. Today I was seen at The Spine center at university of washington. After a physical evaluation of my back and reflexes.(which Dr. Swan did not do) and some X rays I was told I do not have scoliiosis bad enough I may need rods. In fact I don’t have scoliiosis. The vertebrae are not fused and all the other issues stem from posture issues. Oh and I probably don’t have osteoporosis but I was referred to another doctor for verification. I can not recommended this chiropractor office.
