The only reason I am only giving this place 2 stars is because the pools safety is not wonderful unless you plan to constantly be with the children you are bringing. However the pools are really nice to go to. The community center is amazing and well kept. All activities are cheep and fun. If you go checkout the awesome park.

The ice is terrific for hockey. The rink is almost always freezing cold and the ice is great, even in the corners and where the zamboni enters. Nice large locker rooms, but the showers could use a scrubbing and some new paint. Its a hockey rink, so what do you expect. * 7÷15÷15 showers are freshly painted. Upgrade from 4 to 5 stars

Arguably one of the coolest community pools in the St. Louis area! Both entertaining for the kids and relaxing for adults. The pool covers a lot of real estate(at least, more than the pools I’ve visited) and divided up into age appropriate sections. Moreover, the strategic layout, aesthetic design, and impressive landscaping make it look like a small water theme park.

This review is for the pool complex only. Everyone can get a good swim in here at the Kwood Pool, which has traditional and waterpark features. The Kiddie Pool has slides and other water features designed for the toddler and early elementary set. The Family Pool is a zero entry design and connects to the popular lazy river, which has waterfalls to keep you drenched. A couple of waterslide abut the river — be prepared to hear a little wailing from the youngsters that don’t make the height requirement. The big pool is like most pools you’ll find at a rec complex, with two diving boards and two lap lanes. The lap lanes are adult only from 5−7pm. Likes: a great community hub – a place for the kids to see and be seen. Dislikes: I wish it were open later than 7:30 pm. Extended hours into the evening would attract more working folks and more families after dinner. Missouri is certainly hot enough to handle it. The good news for Kirkwood/Oakland/Glendale residents is that you have to be a resident or a guest of a resident for entry. That’s bad news for everyone else.

My husband and I have joined a volleyball team here at the center that will meet on a weekly basis for summer fun and so far it has been nothing but good times. We have been here one other time, in the winter, as my husband is an avid hockey fan and he loves to ice skate for his team so this is the closest place for us to come to try out the skates. The gym is small and it does get hot in there so if anything I wish they could ventilate it more or have more fans. Otherwise this is a great place to hang out and if you’re lucky you’ll see a team playing hockey on your way out.

Some renovations have gone on here, perhaps even around the ice rink, but not the rink itself. Not the greatest surface to skate on. Overcrowded(they apparently have no limit) and you’ll find 5 year olds on the ice with 18 year olds. 18 year olds are dangerous and wreckless. Poorly run.

I would always come here when I was a kid to help my dad out at the annual rock and gem show. He no longer sells, but I’m still a huge fan of this event, especially for the gorgeous jewelry and knickknacks. They host a plethora of events in their huge gym, such as auctions and plays, and it’s available for rent too(among other rooms). I took acting lessons here as a kid as well, and I think they still offer them. I love their ice-skating rink(my favorite in St. Louis) and even took lessons for a while before my instructor moved to D.C. The swimming pool is beautiful but often crowded. The park nearby is fairly small but has some good walking trails.
