Love Oberweis! It’s where we go for ice cream. I usually get a mocha frozen coffee, husband likes the milkshakes. I often take home the 3-quarts-get-one-free special. Great flavors to choose from, and they make the best peppermint, wish they had it all year round. Service has always been friendly and fast. The place smells pleasantly like milk and honey, which I think is from the candles they sell. They have a stack of board games to play while eating.

Best ice cream dairy around! The shakes are wonderful and come in a frozen glass dish with a pirouette. Only knock is it is pretty pricey.

Will be headed to Ted Drewes, Mr. Wizards, or McDonalds next time. It’s a cute shop, but any perks you’d expect from a local shop are nonexistent. I ordered a shake, regulars are made with three scoops, and the manager had a fit about making it one scoop peanut butter and two scoops chocolate. Turned out she didn’t do it either… I ended up with a 3 scoops of peanut butter in a to go cup that the manager brought out herself. Also, my fiancée had a sunday that was about 40% whipped cream. I don’t usually write bad reviews but maybe it’ll save someone the hassle. I’d you want to try it, I’d suggest a pint at Schnucks or Dierbergs.

I really do like this place, but I don’t feel great about giving it a four or five star rating because of a few things listed below: Every time I am there, I am there for the ice cream, not the milk, other desserts, etc. It is really great for kids(ice cream, duh) and adults because everyone needs a little ice cream. I have thoroughly tried most of the flavors and they are all great. My favorite is Chocolate Caramel Crunch with a waffle cone dipped in chocolate and sprinkles(sounds kiddish I know :)). You really cannot go wrong here, I just think the servers should be more considerate, it feels like they are just reading the SAME script every time… Overall, the ice cream is amazing and service is relatively fast.

Get the ice cream, not a Frostbite(not great vanilla soft serve with a mix-in). The ice cream however was quite good. I highly recommend half chocolate peanut butter and half banana fudge walnut. They will mix even in single scoop. Very nice staff even late at night. Good atmosphere.

On the way back into the city after dinner in the burbs, a group of friends and I decided to stop by Oberweis. Originally a Chicagoland classic, Oberweis is famous for its milk and dairy desserts. This location is in a strip mall off of Manchester. The interior has a traditional ice cream shop feel, but there are actually some unusual features at this store. You can buy fresh Oberweis milk and also select refrigerated items. They have a bunch of board games to play while you eat — our group played some Scrabble. The menu seemed like a typical ice cream store with various forms(cup, cone, sundae, shakes) and many flavors. I had a cup of chocolate caramel crunch ice cream and it was quite good. The star of the show was the exquisite milkshakes that truly showcase the quality and freshness of Oberweis products. Indeed, the flavor is matched by the presentation in a large, wide cup topped with whipped cream and a special pirouette. Even the regular sized milkshake was pretty large and cost about $ 5.50. There are many excellent ice cream and dessert shops in St. Louis. I would say that Oberweis sets itself apart by focusing on the basics — fresh, creamy milk, without getting distracted with sexy new flavors or concepts. If you live in the city or near downtown, the nearest location is a bit of a drive west, but if you happen to be in the area, a stop at Oberweis for a milkshake is a great treat.

It’s been a week and I’m already having withdrawals! I really wish there was a franchise here in Atlanta. I would be in the milk club and probably come here everyday. Like I do shamelessly every time I’m in St. Louis. It’s been over a year and a half since I was here in this city and we noticed that two locations near us closed down. Deep down inside my head I’m anxious. I really hope they don’t start shutting every shop in Missouri. I don’t wanna drive to Chicago for oberweis! Wahhhhhhh We literally drove 30 mins from Maryland Heights just for a scoop of vanilla ice cream. That’s not ridiculous at all. As a matter of fact, I got myself a lime green shirt to represent this place! I will always continue to come to this place whenever I’m in town. Even if the last one in St. Louis standing is a hour away! I’m just that desperate!

I went once and had such delicious ice cream that I’ve got back and bought pints to take home and keep in my freezer. They sell the standard flavors in local grocery stores, but if you want some of the more speciality flavors you have to go back to this store to buy them, but its worth it. I get one thats a coffee caramel, the official name is slipping my mind at the moment. It is delicious!

Oberweis has some of the best ice cream in STL. I almost always go here before a special occasion to get a quart of ice cream for dessert. It’s a tradition to get their peppermint for Christmas. The vanilla is one of the best I’ve ever had and great with any dessert. They have ice cream cakes and pies that you can grab and go or special order. I have gotten the cookies and cream ice cream pie a few times, and it’s always a huge hit. They have various grocery items here, like milk, lemonade, tea, cheese, yogurt and more. I love the lemonade and the glass bottles are cool. Get money back when you return them after use. You can also get scoops of ice cream and ice cream desserts. I like their cookie dough a lot — but I try to stay away because it’s addictive! They frequently give samples out of things like hot cocoa, and have a loyalty program as well as deals like buy 3 quarts, get 1 free. While it’s pricey, it’s definitely worth it!

5 stars for ice cream but the service is sooo slow. I’ve never been to an ice cream place that couldn’t take my order and serve me the ice cream. Do I really need a number at my table? I’d hate to be there when they’re busy.

One of favorite ice cream places! Their ice creams are smooth and thick and have amazing flavor. My personal favorite is their chocolate peanut butter milkshake. But if I’m in the mood for just a scoop or two, I’m a big fan of the chocolate marshmallow. On my most recent visit, one of my girlfriends let me try a bite of her brownie sundae — I’d never tried one before because I’m very picky about my brownies. I hate when their cakey or taste processed, instead of being rich and fudgy. Well, this brownie was definitely the latter. So I definitely see a brownie sundae in my future!

I seriously can’t understand why anyone would give them less than 5 stars… But I guess to each his own, right? When I first tried Oberweiss years ago a friend told me the milk was«as fresh as if you got it straight from the cow»…I thought he was full of it so I have it a try. And I was shocked that I agree!!! I LOVE their milk! I have never had it straight from the cow(although I have milked a few in my day… once by hand) but it just tastes so fresh! And then I tried their ice cream! And I love it too!!! I like it so much I usually just get vanilla except at Christmas when my all time favorite flavor is available — peppermint! The store is always very clean and everyone is very nice!

I’m surprised this place doesn’t have more reviews. I went for the ice cream, as I can not get enough. I thought it was really great. Not the best I’ve ever had, but still better than just good. There was a wide variety of flavors which I liked, and the flavor in general was my favorite part. The texture is also good, but not perfect. So far it’s the best ice cream I’ve found in St. Louis though and I will definitely be back. Also had a sample of the chocolate milk. Delish!

I had the blueberry crumble ice cream, it was delicious. Not a place I want to linger in though. There were a lot of screaming kids inside. I like their milk, but don’t like the glass bottle. It’s a hassle to return and I’ve had one break in the car. The organic milk at Global Foods is just as good, and it comes in a carton.

Love this place! The ice cream and milk is really good. My only hang up with Oberweis is their rewards program. It is terrible. You have to pay for the card and the points you collect is really small. They need to offer more frequent prizes for their most loyal consumers.

Defying common sensibilities and good corporate citizenship, these guys still add TRANSFAT to their ice cream! If you love your kids, keep them out.

Is that bony finger in your nightmare the«Ghost of Christmases to come» pointing at your grave marker? Transform his fierce scythe of death into a harmless farming implement by eating a bite of ice cream, and singing my little ditty, to the tune of «O Christmas Tree.» You don’t want Bob Crachit’s family going hungry for YOUR lack of holiday spirit, do you? Honestly, I had the hot fudge sundae the other day and it was good but it wasn’t out of this world good. When you walk into Oberweis, the smell is awesome. It has the sweetest cream smell… now I am thinking they are burning a damned delicious candle somewhere because the ice cream wasn’t really all that special. It was the vanilla ice cream but it didn’t have much flavor to it. And vanilla CAN have a lot of flavor… just try Haagen Dazs if you don’t believe me. That said, my SO loves Oberweis yogurt.

The«I want to be your milkman» bill boards frighten me! Don’t get me wrong Oberweis is amazing. The Dairy goods are outstanding, the frozen cakes delectable and the ice cream is out of this world. However my pocket book and caloric intake can only handle a trip here every once in a while. The chocolate malt is great and will only cost you $ 6. I drink Organic milk too but am happy to pay half the price at Trader Joe’s.
