If you want a classic nasty steamed sandwich that you probably crave every now and then this is your place. If you’re in the mood, this place will hit the spot. It’s just a little expensive for what you get and the atmosphere makes this a must to-go place. They used to have text coupons but stopped and I won’t lie, I’m sad about it.

They used to have good babaganoush, now it’s pretty much just gas station cuisine. Old corn dogs, hot dogs. Chips, etc. Don’t let anyone fool you into eating one of their biscuits. Skip this place.

Life is all about taking chances and risks right?! I reminded myself of that when we decided on the wheres of lunch today. I have been taunted by this place nearly all of the 1 billion times that I have driven past it. The sketchy looking convenience store boasts of it’s menu items by painting them on the side of the cinderblock building. Aside from that and always having several cars in the parking lot, there’s not a lot to go one here. Some of the best food I have ever eaten has come from places that look like they should be condemned so I am not put off by this place by appearance. It’s more of a challenge. And I accept. Walking in, there the walls are lined with coolers. They house sodas and beer. In the middle of the dining room are a handful of tables, covered with Tennessee Orange & white checkered table cloths. You order at the counter from the menu up above. The sweet girl behind the counter recommended the steak in a sack, without mushrooms. She spoke my language and so we didn’t need to go further down the menu. Although, the woman who ordered behind me ordered 2 hot dogs, all the way(curiosity perked). We ordered an order of fries to share. I ordered a bottled drink and the mister ordered a fountain drink. I came out the winner here as several of the fountain options had ‘out of order’ tags hanging from them. Once the food arrived, we dove in. It was pretty fantastic and everything that you would hope a greasy steak in a sack from a hole in the wall would be. There was no shortage of meat and the pita was warm and soft. The tomato, lettuce, and cheese lightened up the flavor from plenty of grilled onions. Portion size was plentiful. Even for a manly kinda appetite. Our fries were nothing to write home about. Pretty small portion for $ 2.29, but enough to share since the rest of our meal was sizable. All was garnished with a pickle and a few pepperoncinis. We loved this place and will certainly be back! Seriously, where else can you get beer, lottery tickets, a newspaper, and lunch?!
