I think it’s funny that I saw in a couple of reviews some of the same thoughts I’ve struggled with on this place, basically thinking it seems expensive on the one hand, then craving the food on the other! I think that just means we’re not used to proper bakery foods and prices that it really costs to run a place like this; we’ve come to expect dollar menus everywhere and get confused when confronted with an alternate world, one more like our grandparents had and one that I’m told still exists in certain pockets of Europe, where things are made from scratch and require a lot of labor to do properly. I’ve enjoyed the croissants, sandwiches and now a brunch I’ve had here, and when I can remember to go when they’re open I’m always glad I went, especially when I get a favorite coffee at Kbrew and then a goodie from here. :)

I love everything about this place. I wake up on Sunday and Monday mornings and my heart breaks, just a little bit, knowing I cannot stop by for a piece of something delicious and wholesome. If I stay fat, I will be ok with that, as long as BreadShed is contributing to my girth.

Super delicious spot, it takes a little while to get food if you order a sandwich that’s not pre-made but you can tell its some quality bread and the owner is very welcoming and happy to have you. The Cuban sandwich is a must and my very favorite. I have bought her desserts as gifts for friends and clients and they have loved them. Especially the brownies.

While I really wanted to like the local bakery and sandwich shop, I’ve given it three tries and each time the food has been just OK and the owner has made me feel unwelcome and unworthy. I won’t be going back.

I am really, really into this little bake shop. The owner is sweet and the baked goods are amazing. Best chocolate croissant of your life! For the quality of ingredients and sizes of portions, I think the prices are totally fair. Go early for the most variety. This morning, for example, at 7:45ish, there were berry croissants, chocolate croissants, little maple mini croissant thingies, dill, ham & fried egg scones, chocolate cake, a gluten free muffin of some sort, little french cakes, and three or four other things I’m forgetting. The owner noted she definitely sells out as the morning goes on. I am happy this spot is succeeding and can’t wait to see how she grows this business. I wish there was more space to sit around and get cozy inside but I“m also totally OK with the fact her kitchen takes up all the space, so she can keep cranking out the tasty treats.

I love that more spots are opening up in my neighborhood. We rolled into BreadShed on a late Wednesday morning and they were running low on goodies, which hopefully means people are supporting this awesome new business! We had a blueberry and dark chocolate scone and it was super delicious! I thought it was a little expensive until I ate it and wanted about 4 more! Everything looked wonderful and I will most certainly be back to sample their wide array of pastries. It appears that they’re adding more items and looking to broaden their menu so give this place a shot! It’s great!

Love getting a cup of coffee from K Brew then some food from here. The owner is really excited about her pastries and works really hard to make delicious food. This past weekend I was looking for something more savory, and the owner just made some Ham + Cheese croissants. They were great! My fiancé had some french toast which she makes with her homemade bread. It was great, the cream + fresh strawberries were a delicious compliment. I love when business owners are super sweet to our dogs. We were eating outside with our precious angels, and she brought out a bowl of water right away then asked if she could give me a piece of ham to give to the dogs. That was really sweet and appreciated! Get K Brew coffee then eat get something sweet or savory here.

This place is awesome! The sandwiches were fantastic. I had a red, white and blue – yummy. Kimberly and Libbie were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Will be visiting this place often.

They say that the first step of addiction is admitting you have a problem. So is falling asleep to the grand visions of heavenly baked goods a problem? If so, I may have a problem. Seriously, it was one thing when I knew that my ventures to Breadshed would be limited to once a week at the farmer’s market, but since they have moved into their permanent home in my neighborhood, it’s gotten a little out of control — in a good way, of course. This little shop does it right. I was turned on to the Dark Chocolate Blueberry Scones and have never looked back. They are little fluffy clouds of heavenly goodness. And my love of this place only deepened once I tried their paninis. Fresh, gooey, warm, and full of a flavor that punches your taste buds right in their little faces. I usually just get the caprese panini because the garlic bread that they use is so flavorful that I don’t want to overpower it. So whether you need to feed your sweet tooth or grab a loaf of bread for dinner, this should be your place. The owner is as sweet as her baked goods. My only frustration has come from popping in to feed a craving and being met with a locked door. I hope that as BreadShed finds it’s footing, the hours will find consistency.

Super awesome food, great value and very nice people. I love this place. Everything is made from scratch. She doesn’t claim organic but she does try to use those type of ingredients when possible. She also tries to use local ingredients as much as possible. She has a rotating menu, but if there is a type of bread you really want, tell her. The earlier in the day you get there, the more types of items she has. Her bakery is really popular and items sell out quickly sometimes. Worth a drive, worth a visit and worth every penny. I highly recommend a visit. Chances are, you’ll be come a repeat customer. 5 stars isn’t a high enough rating for this place.

The Bread Shed stands alone. Nowhere else does Knoxville have a bakery that does both sweet and savory so spot-on. Try one thing – anything, then you’ll try them all. This place has all necessary ingredients from crust to crumb: But it’s not limited to authentic Italian loaves, airy baguettes, or hearty peasant breads. The scones, tarts, and muffins and cakes are top-shelf. If that’s not enough, the sandwiches on offer are without equal. Good bakeries have products, but great bakeries have passion – the Bread Shed has basketfuls; you can taste it in every bite.

I keep putting this review off because I want to love it… HARD, but it’s really just good. I love the fact that they are growing up enough to move their farmer’s market booth into a real live store. Good for them on that front! My problem, might actually be MY problem, not Bread Shed. I think most bakeries, in my head, are going to have a ton of pastries of varying flavors, but they rarely do. Bread Shed is no exception. They have some chocolate, and blueberry scones, which were tasty, but I wish there was more. There are several kinds of breads, and what I’ve eaten was good, but MAN I WISHTHEREWEREMORE! We went one sunday late morning and had a brioche french toast with brandy whipped cream. One of the specials of the day. Sounds good, right? But it wasn’t french toast-y like I expected. I mean it was brioche, but it wasn’t egg washed and fried like you’d assume french toast would be. The owner was also really excited about the fact that she had fresh and organic berries for the french toast, but we also noticed that while the berries were organic, the remaining ingredients for the store were standard conventional ingredients. I mean that’s ok, but if you’re gonna sell the organic, then do as much organic as possible, right? Not a deathblow by any sense, but a bummer nonetheless. Now our visit was early in their opening, so hopefully as the business grows, they will grow and work out some of the kinks, and maybe add more sweet stuff to the list of offerings, but for now, I was so excited to have a fresh bakery near our house, that when I got it, it left me wanting more.
