It’s what it says, they have little meals inside lunch boxes like lean cuisine or some other meal. They are only open during lunch time so don’t try to go at another hour you’ll see that it’s closed. The meals they serve in the lunch boxes are cold but there is a station where you can order hot food. There’s only one cashier so if it’s busy be expected to wait a little while longer. The food isn’t too bad! I come here rarely just to not have to cook.

It is called the Lunchbox for a reason. It is a lunch spot, not dinner spot. I was downtown on a rainy day and wandered into the Lunchbox. I had no idea what to expect since I had never been in there before. It was similar to a cafeteria style setting. I was seated at a booth, and my order was taken promptly. I ordered the Whole Chicken Salad Sandwich, you have the option to order half, and I didn’t want cole slaw so I substituted the Pasta Salad for it. I added Tomato to my sandwich which was a .55 cent up-charge. That made no difference to me. The sandwich was really quite good and so was the pasta salad. If I worked downtown I would probably be a frequent diner here. Another plus is the server kept my water full. They have a monthly menu which I thought was pretty cool. It tells you in advance what they will have. The month of October includes: Chicken Rice Casserole, Tamale Pie, Chicken Tettrazzini, Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and many other items. The also have other sandwich, salad, and soup items. If you are in a hurry this place would definitely be a place to stop as they do a large amount of take-out business. You should definitely check this place out. I know I will definitely return for another lunch here when I am in the area again. Cheers and Enjoy!

It’s pretty much just good downhome cooking. You really can’t go wrong there. Get their monthly schedule(which really helps with that cafeteria feel!) and you’ll be able to plan out when to take your lunch to work and when to get real excited about the newest soup! Speaking of, I’m a real fan of their split pea. Oh, and their salads, as in like chicken salad and fruit salad, are really good. I think it might be a southern thing(a goop of some chicken-mayonaise-y stuff on a bed of lettuce), but they really are woth a try at the very least. Only one word to the wise – they really focus on the lunch crowd(catch the name?) and so they close at like two o’clock and maybe aren’t open on the weekends at all(just be sure to check out their hours before making dinner plans). Happy eating!
