Large, clean restaurant with a decent«japanese» menu and teppanyaki grills. Food is pretty good, I would give it a solid 4. Service sucks. Every time we go, they make us wait even though the place is half empty. The girls at the hostess stand laugh and giggle amongst themselves even though there’s a crowd forming in front of them. One woman tried to interrupt their conversation and the the girl just glanced at the woman and kept talking to her coworker. We always go when it’s not busy since we have kids but we have NEVER been seated in a prompt manner. The only time we received decent service was when the owner was there. Such a shame.

First time going, and have to say it was a really nice and different experience. We were a party of two and they don’t seat you until the whole party is present, which makes sense. Once seated they bring out the menus and take drink orders. The service was fast, and our waitress was really nice. The chef then came out and did a couple cool tricks and then cooked the food in front of us. It was really nice to see how effortlessly he made the entrees. He made me want to cook too! lol then he saved a couple pieces of shrimp which he threw to us and we had to catch with our mouth. Overall, it was a really pleasant unique and fun experience, and definitely considering coming back.

Top notch accommodation. My wife and I had dinner here on a Sunday night. We just came without a reservations but we only had a 10 minute wait, we seated immediately and the prompt server took our order quickly. Service is very quick. The chef is also entertaining. Everything we ate was fresh and delightful, especially the shrimp and the chicken. The steak is my favorite. Highly recommended!

I don’t know how the food is for the steak etc, but I got the spicy tuna roll and the salmon sushi and it was alright. The salmon sushi tasted a bit off and kind of bland. And the spicy tuna was alright but I would’ve expected better. I almost feel like it would’ve been better to have a store bought sushi instead of the sushi from here. With all the good reviews I was stoked to try it only to be left disappointed. But maybe I should’ve just tried a specialty roll instead.

Favorite Teppanyaki ever. Location is great, and it’s pricey but come on its basically a show and dinner. We always get the Teppanyaki Steak & Chicken and Filet Mignon. The best side dish would probably be the FRIEDRICE and sauté mushrooms. Sounds basic right?, but you’ll change your mind once you actually have it. Family friendly and very fulfilling. Don’t forget to check-in on Unilocal for yummy dessert.

Sometimes I discover a spot, get obsessed with it for a few months and go multiple times a week. SAKURA Has become that place for me. LOVE The sushi bar and lounge area. Its a great place to meet up with friends after work, grab fresh sea food and enjoy some sake and beer. The atmosphere is super chill. The servers are always prompt and super personable.

Really liked this place! You have your choice of sushi or teppanyaki, but we opted for the sushi! Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my friend and this place is HUGE! We shared some edamame and the waitress said since it was our first time, she gave us free miso soup! Also they had some good lunch specials but we just decided to share some yummy rolls which include the spicy tuna on crispy rice, the dynamite roll and the spicy halibut — all REALLY good! Very cool restaurant — fresh sushi, friendly staff and overall nice ambience.

Eat here for first time and definitely will never comeback again. Restaurant room temperature is too hot and when the chef starts their fire trick make it even hotter. Looking at our chef cooking with sweat on the face is making me full without even eating. I reccommend come around winter if you want to eat here would make it perfect.

Visited day before Mothers Day 2016 Been here before. Always a great experience. The cooks are amusing. Their tricks will make you oohing. We arrived just when they opened, but they won’t seat you at the table till your whole party shows up. Different seating arrangement depending on the type of meal. The salad is included with the entrée and I love their dressing. The steamed rice is also included with the entrée. Extra charge for fried rice. I ordered the vegetables entrée. Very filling and taste great. Someone else ordered the scallops and that also tastes really good. Lunch menu definitely cheaper than dinner. Since we were celebrating my brothers birthday, after the meal, they sung to him and he got to hit the gong afterwards. He also got free ice cream and a picture! If you check in with Unilocal, you can get free ice cream. Plenty of free parking. I heard Happy Hour is good here. Need to check it out next visit.

Came here for a Mother’s Day dinner with my family few days ago. The food and drinks are delicious and the presentation by the cook is definitely my favorite part. A great place to go with a large group of friends or family– a very fun atmosphere. My only negative was the wait time. I had made reservations for 8:30 pm; however, when 3 members of our group of 5 arrived, we were told that we couldn’t be seated until the entire party had arrived. Even when everyone did arrive, we still waited an additional 10 – 15 minutes until finally seated. Besides the wait time, everything else was great!

For«Service» only. Did not have a chance to give it a try: Called on Mother’s day for a reservation, the person on the phone said they do not take reservations. Understandable, very busy. I asked how long the wait will be, if I walk in. After she talked with somebody, got back to me asking if I can make it for 7:50pm(it was 7:20pm), I said«yes». She asked my name, it was apparently very noisy, so she barely finally got my name as «Josh». Whatever. After driving to the restaurant, and getting to the host, she first seemed to acknowledge talking with«Josh» on the phone just about 20 minutes ago, but suddenly she said«Oh, we are sorry, we are not taking walk-ins as well». Well, yeah, I see you guys are busy. It is ok. But maybe just say so when we called the first time. Before driving all the way to your location.

I love this place. me and family go here often. On weekends its usually crowded and you may have to wait up to 30 minutes. It is recommended that you get a reservation specially for large parties. Tapanyaki is one of my favorite foods. This is not my most favorite tapanyaki place but it is still very good.

Chefs are not only entertaining but the food is delicious as well! Service is super friendly and servers are always more than happy to help. This restaurant includes a teppan side, shabu shabu, sushi bar, and a full bar! Must try their lobster and scallop teppan dinner! Fried rice and yakisoba upgrades make the dish a lot more exciting! It’s a little pricey but so worth it! Perfect to celebrate birthdays or any get together! Restaurant closes from 2−5pm on weekdays! You might want to check before you head over to find out it’s closed! Reservations made easy.

My family and I LOVE this place. We always go with a group of 9 and fill up an entire table. They’re always very accommodating and they have a lot of tables, so the wait is never too long. Food – never disappoints. I’ve tried their shrimp, scallops, and chicken and they’re all amazing. I definitely recommend the scallops! Tastes amazing with the way the chef seasons them. I’ve also tried some sushi rolls and my favorite has been the Bonita roll. I usually substitute the seaweed with soy paper because I like the taste better, but it’s good both ways! I’ve never had any complaints with how any of the chefs prepared my food. They all have their different techniques but none of them have ever burned/over-seasoned it. Sakura’s in a great location but parking can be hard to find during the weekends! Overall, I’m very happy I don’t have to go all the way to Pasadena for Shogun because this place is closer and 10x better!!!

This is an East Coast version of our beloved Benihana. I’ve had the teppan yaki style here before and it was a pretty decent show. The food was nothing extraordinary. The sushi is entry level at best.

Anytime I’m craving Japanese grill, this restaurant is my to go place. I love the atmosphere along with the food. The chefs who come to the grill make it a fun night out for dinner. The prices are very reasonable for the grilled entrees, but the sushi is over priced. Also about EVERY roll consists of spicy tuna and avocado. I came in on a Monday night with my boyfriend. We were seated at a grill table and we were the only two guests, until it later started to fill up. The waiter, Phinyada I believe, didn’t make our night enjoyable. First, she asked us what we wanted to drink but it took her a while to bring it out. As other guests arrived at our table, she got their drink and food orders, brought theirs out while we were still waiting for our bottled water. She also took their food order first then went, even though we had arrived before everyone else. We asked for the sushi we had ordered to be brought out as an appetizer, which she didn’t do. It came out just as we were finishing and about full from our grill entrees. Needless to say, we took our rolls to go. She also brought the check for the other guests and a man came to clean their plates after they left. She did not ask us throughout the night if we were doing fine, if we needed anything and we had to wait over 20 minutes until another waiter passed by and asked if we needed the check. Our initial waiter did not even realize we were at the table waiting for her to notice us to help us out. When we got the check, we asked for ginger and wasabi to go. After waiting about ten minutes and not receiving it, we left. As we were just about out the door, Phinyada ran up to us with the ginger asking if we had requested it. I’m a frequent customer here as its close to my home and I honestly prefer it over Benihanas. The experience I had on Monday night was not acceptable in terms of service. The money paid for the two rolls we ordered went to waste and our dinner didn’t end on a good note. I’m truly disappointed in the lack of service. Just because we are younger than those who were sitting with us, does not mean our money is of less value.

This place is great for big groups– service moved really quickly for our party of 8. They have different selections on the menu even for the Vegetarian’s they have veggie options. I selected Filet Mignon with Scallops and it was tasty. They also serve up sushi. The only thing I wish they had was more of a selection of spices to try the meats out in. They only gave 2 and of them I think one was sirracha mayo and the other a peanut/sesame type of sauce. I would’ve loved to dipped that meat in some chili paste or a garlic combination sauce. These are sauteed meats in a light flavoring that is tasty. I got the most delicious chocolate ice cream cake with my Unilocal check in. :))

Such a happy place. It is especially happy from 5 – 7 Mon-Th in the bar and patio area only. Stiff, 4 dollar drinks from Long Islands to Mai Tais. Cheaper 22 oz bottles of Japenese style beers for $ 4.50 or $ 2.50 for a regular bottle. Definitely makes us happy. Belly happy and wallet happy. The food menu is also pretty great. If you look through my pics, you’ll see we’ve pretty much had everything on the happy hour menu. The spicy tuna crisp is by far the best thing on the mostly 5 dollar list. It is the first thing we order before branching out to the other things. Can’t go wrong with the spicy tuna roll either. It’s fresh and delicious. Calamari was just ok. Won’t be ordered again. I’m sure the teppan is good. Just seems we always are walking in Mon-Th from 5 – 7 and we end up in the bar and patio area only. Service at the bar has always been great. Tender is always attentive.

Free desert for Unilocalers! I’ve been here many times. I’ve sat at both the grill area and the tables. Both experiences are very different. If you’re out for an event, the grill would be the best choice since the chef cooking in front of you is a wonderful and impressive experience for all involved. They’re very interactive and it is entertaining to see your food hoping while being cooked in front of you. Make sure to order water because the spicy sauces will make your taste buds burn in joy. As for dining, it is a go to if you’re in the mood for the cuisine. I would recommend staying away from their iced green tea. It tasted terrible, and I had to tell them to change it. Usually I’ll settle, but it was repulsive. The vibe of the restaurant is classy and modern. It gives a boost to business because it is well polished. The grill is fun to go to, but overall, it isn’t anything crazy.
