I neither loved nor particularly hated my experience here. For starters, they have a **Happy Hour Monday through Thursday from 3 – 6 p.m.** The tacos are only 89 cents! Unfortunately, I came twenty minutes too late, but it didn’t make a difference because you have to spend a minimum of $ 5 for you to use your credit card.(I didn’t have any cash on me.) The cashier was on the quiet side, but she was very kind and polite. That being said, I opted for the 3 soft tacos combo plate, which was about $ 6.70 with tax included. I got two carne asada tacos and one al pastor. I have a picture of my meal up. I was surprised that I had to wait 10 minutes for my food, considering how there weren’t many people inside. It’s a fast Mexican joint after all. Anyway, since I wasn’t in a hurry, it didn’t matter. When my food was ready, the cashier brought it to my table. I asked her for some carrots(they’re not out in the salsa bar) and water and she gladly brought them to me. The al pastor taco was edible, but was too salty. I preferred the carne asada tacos. They were pretty darn good. Nothing extraordinary or different, but they for sure hit the spot. The onions and cilantro they use are fresh and the meat is not dry. It’s not exactly«tender and juicy,» but it has a tasty texture. A huge plus. I also like their red sauce. It’s flavorful, but not too spicy or overpowering. The combo plate comes with rice, beans, a few chips, and some lettuce with a slice of tomato on top. The chips were stale, but bearable with the red sauce and beans. The carrots weren’t crunchy at all. They had a mushy texture :(. The radishes at the salsa bar made up for it, though. The rice and beans were your standard, so I had no problem with them. As for the interior, it was cool, well-kept and clean! I always passed by this place and thought it would be super shabby, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a sign their food is a bit too salty because I’m really thirsty right now, but I would definitely come here again, only **DURINGHAPPYHOUR or on TACOTUESDAYS and WITHCASH**, so I don’t have to spend almost $ 7 on one meal. All in all, El Taco Sabroso isn’t spectacular, but it’s a solid joint that possibly deserves more stars than it currently has. Still, a great place to catch a cheap meal if you’re craving tacos and a good place to relax(if there are no loud and immature middle school boys seated behind you, that is). My ears hurt by the time I left. Note: Sorry for the half-assed writing. I’m in a food coma.

I feel like most mexican places are similar in taste. My all-time favorite is still King Taco but I would totally settle for this one to satisfy my taco cravings. I’m a huge al pastor fan, but at El Taco Sabroso, the carnitas were much better than the al pastor. I tried the wet burrito as well and it wasn’t anything special. I wouldn’t get it again. I love that they have fresh pico de gallo out at the salsa bar. The place is a indoor sit-down and it was clean.

New owners and not for the better either. I knew trouble was afoot when I saw a poster on the front door saying«Now Serving Chicken Teriyaki». What used to be a decent place to get a really good burrito is now reduced to bad service and even worse food. So long Taco Sabroso. I’ll miss you

Good price, good portions, terrible food. To be fair I have only been once and I got the #4 combo(hard tacos). Tacos were greasy and the shredded meat was strange tasting to put it politely. Re-fried beans was probably the only thing worth paleting. Would not recommend or eat here again. On a side note, the lady working the counter was not friendly but not as off-putting as some would suggest. I smiled at her and she kindly returned the smile. I did not feel rushed as some have mentioned but it wasn’t that busy either.

This is a complete hole in the wall joint that I came across by accident as I was looking for Movie Town. I walk in and here’s what I find: .99 cents for fish tacos everyday all day~ I’m just glad I don’t have to wait for every Taco Tuesday to come by to get my delish fish tacos for a buck. .99 cents for tacos(the regular meats that all taco shops have available) Salsa Bar! WHOOHOO~ I wish the lady in the front was a bit nicer though, she was rude and impatient. I will be going back soon, no one can beat this deal.

My favorite part of this place is that they are #4, but there are no other locations according to the staff… This place is a solid deal with .99 soft tacos and all the meats are good including the fish– I must restate this– I would never order carne asada ever again as all other mexican meat options are better!

Love the especial deal they have here. $ 4.99 for 4 tacos and 1 drink = awesome. I always have the carne asada. They put salsa, onions, and parsley on the tacos unless you tell them not to. The also give chips sometimes, which is a plus. The first time I came here I didn’t get chips, so I am not sure how their system works. My buddy got the carnitas, which were also very good. They have a small help-yourself area where you can get salsa, carrots, jalapenos, and radishes. The salsa and veggies are very fresh. I love their radishes because they are crunchy and cut in large pieces so you get more flavor out of them. Overall: solid place for quality mexican tacos at reasonble prices.

Just moved to area and still searching for some kick ass Mexican food. I think i may have found it. This place has a large menu and the price is right! The carne asada burrito is so damm good and the fish tacos are better than i expected(not as good as La Bufadora in El Monte of course). The enchiladas are delicious and the service is fast and courteous. If youre in La Habra … Check em out yo!

El Taco Sabroso is a little hole in the wall, but that’s what makes it so great. Every time I’ve gone, the cashiers are so friendly. And sometimes they give drinks out for free(but that’s probably because I’m a girl: P). I always get the al pastor tacos here. The al pastor is seasoned so well! It’s a little spicy for me though, so I add the salsa verde and not the salsa roja. The carne asada and birria are also excellent! I tried the potato taco they have here, and it didn’t really float my boat. I’ll stick with my al pastor. I just wished they were open late at night. :(

If El Taco Sabroso kept the hours of Molca Salsa or Taqueria, I’d probably be the happiest man alive. Not to knock those other two stellar La Habra instirutions, but Sabroso is just better. Favorites include; lengua tacos, carnitas on anything but especially the sopes, the simple yet amazing bean and cheese burrito. Their lengua is some of the best I’ve ever had, paired up with some fresh onions and boat load of the salsa verde it is the perfect taco. The carnitas is also fabulous, not greasy and with that nice bit of crispiness that long, slow cooking brings.

This place I great. I wasn’t all that hungry, so I just ordered one carnitas taco based on a review from another Unilocaler(thanks, Tez L!) It was delicious– nice and cripsy and not soggy like you get from most other Mexican restaurants. My boyfriend tried a taco el pastor and he loved it. I’ll definitely be coming back with an emptier stomach.

I’m just here to review their fish tacos, something they have on sale for $ 1 on fridays. I’m a student doing clinical hours on fridays from the early morn til about 3 pm. Sometimes I skip out on lunch so that I can come here and indulge myself! I order 4 of the fish tacos, and also one of those mexican ice cream bars to go. 1 dollar fish tacos, I shouldn’t complain. But the pica de gallo they use is very weak. They also use cabbage instead of lettuce. The fish portion itself isn’t that big. But once again. 1 dollar fish tacos, I shouldn’t complain. I’m a fan.

All hail the potato taco. Lovely lard fried potato in a crispy shell, topped with lettuce sour cream, and some kind of crumbly cheese. Sounds weird I know, but the goodness contained in that little taco is indescribably good. The next best thing are the thing are the carne asada soft tacos, which are tradition and very simple, but so good; small fresh tortillas, perfect carna asada topped with fresh cilantro, salsa, and onion. The carne asada burritos are good, as are the veggie burritos. They also make fresh lime-aid, which is the perfect drink for this kind of food.

The Carnitas here are the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. That includes fancy restaurants that claim to have the best carnitas– no one can ever compare. I like the carnitas burritos with everything(beans, pico de gallo), but my mom likes it plain– pure porky heaven. Second best on the menu are the most amazing potato tacos in the world– lard fried goodness(I know what I’m going to have to have for lunch today). I’ve been a dedicated patron for 8 years and counting. Plus the guy behind the counter every day I’ve ever gone for all those years is the nicest. I get everything to go but they have tables, too.
