Had the drunken noodle. It was good. Service was quick.

From the minute I walked in to the minute I walked out I received first class service by everyone who waited on me. They were super attentive, friendly, welcoming and fast. The food was unbelievable. I’m not one to try a lot of new things but the papaya salad was so amazing, my body is craving it right now even talking about it. The restaurant setting is gorgeous and the ambience was perfect This place will be now be added to my top favorite restaurants to go to.

I came here for the San Diego Restaurant Week and the food was amazing. I ordered the Drunken Noodle with Beef and it was on point delicious. The Papaya Salad appetizer was well made and very fresh. I got the Taro Custard for the dessert and it was perfect too. I highly recommend people to come here for restaurant week because it’s tasty and reasonably priced. Would come back again.

I go to UCSD and we’re always looking for new things to get delivered to us, so the delivery option was awesome. I guess they deliver to UCSD often so they knew exactly where on campus to take our order! The order arrived relatively quickly and everyone I interacted with was super nice. As for the food, I ordered the pad see ew with beef for $ 14. It is one of my favorite thai dishes and I have tried this dish at a few different places. In comparison to my favorite thai restaurant back home, this dish was okay. It was good, but I’ve had better. My roommate ordered spicy fried rice and angel wings, which I was surprised to see on the menu considering most thai places I go to don’t have it. Overall, the food was okay but the delivery was awesome! I think it’s a little pricy, though. The to-go portion is a little small for the price.

Had dinner here with my friend and the service and food was great! We were seated immediately and our waitress came to get out drink order. Will definitely come back here.

Ambience– Spacious, neat, quiet Menu– As a vegetarian, I had tons of options to choose from What I liked– the ‘Lunch Specials’. Its 10 $ for 2 appetizers and a main course. I had the Tofu and Vegetable soup which was essentially vegetable broth, mushrooms, tofu and spinach leaves. I also had their dumplings and spring rolls. Both were pretty great. For the main course, we tried Panang Curry, the Pad Thai noodles, Yellow Curry and Drunken Noodles. I liked that they had a quinoa option besides the brown and white rice options. We also had their jasmine tea which give you about three full cups per head. Service could improve. They are efficient but could be a bit more courteous.

I ate here last Monday. I’ve seen their Facebook posts of their many delectable items, so I had to come in and check them out. The waitress who seated and served us was«ok». Not great, but not too bad either. She left my husband’s tea glass empty for quite some time. The rest of the service was passable. We ordered the Lunch special because it sounded like a deal. 2 appetizers and a main course for $ 10 which was right up our alley. I ordered a Thai Salad and some kind of green dumpling for my appetizer. I ordered Thai BBQ chicken for the main course. I’m going to make this review short and sweet. SALAD…2/5 Fair. nothing stood out. DUMPLING3÷5− pretty good. BBQTHAICHICKEN– 2⁄5 Wasn’t freshly made. Chicken definitely was warmed up after arriving at 11am… quite possibly 2 days old. Very underwhelmed. No distinguishing Thai flavors. but it was a source of protein. Good choice for dieters… Needs to be freshly made though. RICE– 3÷5− just had a bite of this. it was hot steamed rice so it was ok. afterall, it’s just steamed rice. VALUE– 5⁄5 I was hoping for a better experience. I think it’s risky to serve a new customer(or any for that matter) anything but freshly made food. Especially less than an hour from when they open. If your are looking for an inexpensive meal(price first) that is somewhat healthy, I’d recommend this place .For quality of food, I recommend somewhere other than Chedi.

Everything was wonderful I’m so impressed with the food and service. I came here with my best friend for dinner. Great date night restaurant. Dianna was the best waitress ever. Very professional and sweet. If you love authentic Thai food I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be back.

Not my favorite Thai Food. The rice was sticky and mushy. The soup had sticks of lemongrass that were inedible. The Yellow Curry was good, but veggies were a little over done. The pad Thai was okay, but overall not a great experience.

What you need to know: they have a $ 10 lunch special that includes two appetizers and a main dish, plenty to share between two people. It’s on a crowded street so parking can be a little difficult but the interior is super nice and modern. Chedi Thai is pretty good. They have a really good lunch special with two appetizers and a main dish for only $ 10. They presentation of the appetizers were spot on but the actual taste was just ok. Maybe because the price is so cheap and they had no meat and were filled with veggies. I had dumplings that were very tasty and had a nice crunch to it. The spring rolls were kind of plain tasting even though they were fried. The pad Thai was the right color I wanted, a slightly darker than normal orange, but it tasted like the sauce was a little too much«coated on» rather than cooked well in the sauce. Also the chicken was a tad chewy. It’s pad Thai, though, so it did the job. I give them an A+ for the presentation and taste of their Thai tea, it was awesome.

First of all I love the set up of this place. It’s lovely inside; the bar is very classy and the décor is very tasteful. I stopped in for lunch during restaurant week so… $ 10 for 2-courses is good for me. My first course was the lemon grass soup with tofu. The bowl was huge! Bigger than I need for a lunch course. The taste was nice, but it has you know that spicy feeling that gets right into the back of your throat and makes you want to cough? Not a good look when you’re sitting across from your boss. She had the calamari. Definitely the better of the two starters. It was lightly fried, not too heavy, it came with the sweet chili sauce and a small side salad. My entrée was the yellow curry with tofu. I just love the coconut in thai curry so it’s hard for me to criticize but the dish was very salty. The portion was also, again, much bigger than I want for lunch. To be fair: my fault for choosing to have thai for lunch, and take-away is a thing. My overall experience was not bad… and I’m looking forward to having left-overs tomorrow.

My girlfriend and I love this place! Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is nice. The spare ribs appetizer is delicious! And our favorite thing to share is the yellow curry and pad thai. Oh, and the Thai tea is sooo good here too. Haven’t tried everything yet, but haven’t found anything on the menu to be disappointing yet.

I’m from out of town so I don’t know how this place stands in San Diego Thai standards. But it was top notch compared Thai in Boston, NYC, and Philadelphia. I got the drunken noodles which were slightly oily– but my moms massaman curry was sweet and flavorful The décor was fun, service friendly, would definitely go back!

We each had the lunch special which was $ 10 for two appetizers and an entrée. My husband had the shrimp and lemongrass soup and the vegetable dumplings as his appetizers and the green curry with chicken as his main. He loved all three. I ordered the fried vegetable roll and the organic greens salad for my appetizers and the sweet and sour tofu as my entrée. All were very flavorful. There were a lot of vegetarian options to choose from. We used the Unilocal deal for $ 1 Thai iced tea — it was sweet and delicious.

I ordered for delivery the first time last night and was very happy. They showed up before the estimated time, the food was still quite warm and it was delicious. I ordered the«Drunken noodles», a veggie pad thai and a delicious curry. There is a five dollar fee, so I didn’t feel a tip was necessary, and the delivery person seemed fine with that. I guess a lot of places are now adding flat fee delivery charges rather than relying on tips for their drivers. That makes sense to me. Great place.

I am being generous with 3 stars. I think this place deserves 2.5 stars, honestly. Went here for restaurant week and dinner was just okay. Service was pretty bad, but I guess it’s not their fault because it looked like they were understaffed. The server literally just dropped off our check without speaking a word. No «thank you» or anything! The appetizers came out pretty fast and wasn’t very hot — probably because they were just sitting underneath a heat lamp! Very disappointing. For the main entrée, I got the panang curry with salmon. Then for dessert, I got fried bananas, which were wrapped in wonton skins and deep fried. The curry dish was actually pretty good, but the dessert was meh. Again, it wasn’t very hot, considering that it is a fried dessert. So I suspected that it was probably sitting under a heat lamp also because it wasn’t crunchy at all. Overall, the restaurant was a bit disappointing and I’m sure there are better restaurants to visit for restaurant week! Save your money and go somewhere else, where food is actually cooked to order!

First time here and I’m a fan! I love Thai food and I really enjoyed this restaurant. Upon entering, my friend and I received a very warm greeting and were seated promptly. Perfect for our ravenous appetites. A Unilocal check-in resulted in a $ 1 Thai Iced Tea. I’ve been craving this since yesterday so someone up above must have been watching out for me! I REALLY liked the Thai Iced Tea. It was really strong and had a very strong tea flavor. SO good! We began with the green papaya salad, spice level: 6. Very good and refreshing. When first tasting it, the spiciness was not there. Then, at the back of your mouth, it makes its presence known. Hello, spicy! Where have you been hiding? Yum! I ordered drunken noodles, spice level: Thai hot. I will pay for this tomorrow… but it was worth it. My friend ordered panang curry, spice level: 4. My drunken noodles with tofu were fantastic. VERY spicy, but oh, so good! Tofu had a nice crust on the outside, but not too hard in the center. Most of the spice was stuck to the tofu pieces as opposed to the noodles. With every bite of tofu I would brace myself for the impending/self-inflicted hellfire in my mouth. I kind of liked that. The rice noodles were nice and chewy and very flavorful. The panang curry was REALLY good! I almost took some and drizzled it over my noodles! Then I remembered it wasn’t mine to take. The service was excellent. Seated quickly, orders taken quickly and food arrived very fast. Our waitress was great, too. Very fun to talk to and always checking up on us. Interior décor I thought was great. Nice soft lighting, and great window seats perfect for creepin’(read: people watching).

The food was decent but not preferable to spice&rice down the way. They DO however put valiant effort into their décor. Here’s the problem: I don’t really go out for Thai food on dates and if I’m not on a date I can opt for better taste better value and zero romance!(Sab-E-Lee!!!) And so, Chedi does not land on my list of places to return.
