When I first learned that the lab I work in outsources DNA sequencing, I thought my life was going to become a living hell of shipping stuff all over, slow turnover, and huge error rates and sample mixups. This was finally going to be the job that pushes me over the edge. I can see the news headline now: «Mad Scientist has been binge drinking for 3 weeks, won’t stop ranting about DNA sequencing»
Then I found out Genewiz comes to the facility and picks up samples every day. That sounds ok. Then I found out they give you your results the next day. Awesome! Then I found out they use way less sample than I used to have to give at my old workplace– Nice!
They’ve worked out pretty well for me so I would recommend them if you need sequencing
