we are world travelers and also have a number of local massage sites including some national chains. this site in La Jolla was fantastic with one of the best massages of my life. the staff are experienced, strong, professional with many combined therapies to make this an ultimate experience. highly recommended !

Though I am a massage junkie, this was a most surreal experience. The business is located in an old, dilapidated strip mall that has not been renovated since it’s likely construction in the ’70’s. Few businesses survive (UPS Store, La Shore Liquor, Nails by The Sea) and other spaces are vacant and poorly maintained for years (Cass St, Bar n Grill). That said, head upstairs and enter Orchid — a small, crowded, overly decorated massage parlor reminiscent of Bangkok. The room I was lead to was the size of a mediocre walk-​in closet. The table was just long enough for my 5’8″ frame, and there was no head rest. I was asked to undress and lay face down. No cover sheet or blanket provided.
A very nice Thai lady came in and gave me a neck pillow to adjust my head (so I didn’t have to crane my neck) and she placed something like a large scarf over my body.
Although very reluctant about the introduction, once the massage started, I was in heaven. She targeted my stress spots and was diligent about trying to unravel my knots. The stretching felt wonderful and the pressure was just right. There was a long metal bar installed parallel to the ceiling that she held on to while walking and placing her heels into the really tight spots of my lower back.
It’s not for the faint of heart or the modest, but I will try it again as it was a terrific massage for the price!
