Caring, professional, great staff, wonderful surgeon, definitely on top of his game! Didn’t feel a thing!

My wife and I both went to Dr. Yamada for tooth extractions and implants.
He provided excellent care. Both of us experienced minimal pain and discomfort through the entire process. Dr. Yamada was patient and thorough, explaining the details of the procedures before, during, and after the surgeries. His staff members were friendly, courteous and very helpful.
Overall, the practice provides patient focused care unlike many other practices which run like assembly lines, rushing patients in and out, with the focus on turning over patients as quickly as possible.

Thanks Doc! Got my implant in painlessly and with great follow up and aftetcare. He’s patient thorough, and has a great bedside manor. Location is easy to find and always has parking. Staff is nice and flexible with your scedule.

My teen went in with all 4 wisdom teeth and a wisdomless zombie came out of the procedure.
Dr. Yamada removed all 4 of one of my teens wisdom teeth. He explained everything before the procedure to my son and me. There were no complications and the recovery went well — just a chipmonk face and discomfort for a few days. We did follow the directions we were given. Dr. Yamada made such a good impression on my son that he took on his own care without my nagging (if only this was true in almost every other aspect of his life.)
I do have 2 suggestions: 1 — they should have their little mini ice packs cold and ready to go when they give them to you. You have to put them in your freezer when you go home and if you don’t have alternates, there is a needless delay while waiting for them to freeze. And 2 — I really think Dr. Yamada should come out briefly and talk to the parent right after the procedure. How long would it take 5 minutes? I know he has a highly efficient and lucrative practice going, but most surgicenters etc. the doctor takes the time to do this to let you know everything went well right after the procedure — then you go back and pick them up after the recovery period.
You do have to pay upfront even if you have insurance. But, the office was very efficient at submitting your billing and we received full reimbursement from our insurance company very quickly.
I highly recommend Dr. Yamada for your family’s oral surgery needs.

There are absolutely NO better oral surgeons than Dr. Yamada. He is very efficient and forever the professional which is exactly what people want when your talking surgery. He removed my 3 wisdom teeth with local anesthesia. I was terrified of the general anesthesia which is how most people get their wisdom teeth removed I know. Mine were all fully impacted and he was amazing. I was back at work the very next day! I couldn’t believe it. I love the way he runs his office. He hires people who are like him, professional, courteous, and extremely empathetic. Well done Dr. Yamada. No wonder he has been in business for this long and so many people are willing to pay out of pocket and wait for insurance reimbursement. At first, I was like, that’s got to hurt business. If you go once, you will see why people are willing to pay for his services.

At a time when doctors can be so cold & impersonal thank god for Dr. Yamada. My son (15) had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled 10 days ago &, besides having to watch what he eats, is doing fantastic. I feel this is due to the fact that the dr explained everything thoroughly to my son i.e. what to expect before he goes under & how to take care post surgery (besides verbally going over everything you are given detailed written instructions as well). The drs’ kind & gentle demeanor put my son at ease at a very unnerving time. So much so that he opted to go ahead with the procedure even though the dr explained to him that it was not necessary to do it right away.
The saying that you often surround yourself with those like you pertains to his office staff. Everyone was very friendly & respectful. I will definitely recommend Dr. Yamada to anyone needing an oral surgeon.

I was recommended to Dr. Yamata by my regular dentist. I had two teeth i lost but the roots remained. I procrastinated so long until i got a bad infection and could not stand the pain. Dr. Yamata was so gentle, understanding. He doesnt tell you what you should do but explains everything to you. The staff was very helpful and considerate. They got me in very quickly since my mouth was numbing up from infection. I had two roots removed and had general anesthesia. I will admit, I was a little nervous and as much as I feared the dentist, It had to be done. I am on day three of after surgery and have no pain or swelling. Just following the directions. Dr. Yamada is so gentle, and so sweet. He’s really easy to talk to and did a great job with my teeth removals. He really makes you feel comfortable even when you’re having such a scary thing as getting your wisdom teeth removed!

I had four wisdom teeth taken out all at once by Dr. Yamada back in 2001. My friend referred me to him because she had a lot of complicated issues including bad cavities and he really helped her out when she was a student. I wanted to have this done because my teeth were a bit impacted and was about to go to school on the east coast so I wanted everything done before i left. He was incredible. He explained everything clearly and did the procedure perfectly. I had no pain whatsoever afterwards, no infection or other complications. I highly recommend him to anyone. I trust him so much that I would from fly just about anywhere just to see him.

Late last year, I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. My upper 2 were fully grown in (yes, I waited way too long to have the recommended extraction) and my lower 2 had broken through my gums but were growing in sideways. I went to Dr. Yamada upon the recommendation of my dentist, Dr. Phi, and am so glad I did.
His office is clean and well-​kept in a good location (right off the freeway) with a lot of parking. In addition, his staff is friendly, understanding and kind (I interacted with at least 3 of his staff members). For example, they offered to hold my very young daughter while my X-​ray was done as well as give me time to remove my upper ear piercing for the X-​ray imaging. Dr. Yamada gave me options for my extraction (2 now, 2 later; all 4 now with or without being put to sleep) rather than telling me how it was going to be done. He explained everything to me thoroughly and answered my questions as well as took into consideration my unique situation (anesthesia and breastfeeding). I was able to get an appointment time quickly and the communication between myself and the office was excellent.
As far as the actual procedure goes, it was wonderful and truly painless! I decided to be put to sleep and the extraction was over so quickly. I made sure to follow the doctor’s orders and did not experience crazy swelling or pain. I actually experienced more pain before I had the teeth taken out due to an infection (yes, I really did wait too long to have them removed). I strongly recommend reading all of the instructions they give you and have them with you at all times while healing. The instructions they give are all on paper in a format easy to understand and follow. Following orders before and after the extraction will ensure optimum recovery.
I wish I had 4 more wisdom teeth just so I could go back and see them! ;)

Dr. Yamada has been in the same location since the early 1990’s. He took my wife’s impacted wisdom teeth out under general anesthesia many years ago, and mine out under local just recently. He is fantastic at his job, and he gets a ¹⁰⁄₁₀ on bedside manner. His staff, front office and back, is phenomenal. Aftercare instructions were clear and billing to my insurance (you pay them first, then get a check back from your insurance if it is covered) was as painless as the procedure. Getting your wisdom teeth out sucks, but it will suck least here.

Many years ago I had two of my wisdom teeth taken out by an (unnamed) dentist. I was advised to get the other two out the next week, but my mouth was in such pain for two more weeks that I could barely eat — I didn’t go back. Additionally I was so terrified of dentists that I didn’t go for another two years — that ended up not being such a good idea.
Anyway, fast forward to two and half years later. After finally getting my act together and getting all the cavities filled that had accumulated in that time, I was ready to get my other two wisdom teeth out. I was recommended to Dr. Yamada and it turned out to be the most painless tooth removal ever! He gave me the option of local or general anesthesia — he said most people prefer general but I wanted local because if teeth are going to be yanked from my skull then I’m not going to let it happen without being conscious for it.
Half an hour later everything was finished. The next day I was a little tired, the day after that I was already back to normal. Definitely MUCH better than the first time!
