Came here with a group of people while cruising between gallery openings on Girard this past weekend. I loved that the gallery staff was very hospitable and friendly: they were offering free water and wine without snooty attitude and setting a donation box next to it. So much appreciated on a very warm night! They had a great display. One artist provocative sculptures and paintings were situated on the floors and walls of the first part of the gallery. That was so engaging because you had to be careful not to step on them! The paintings of the second artist were more towards the back. I have to say that it was quite a social experience too. While admiring and commenting on the oil paintings with my girlfriend, this gentleman introduced himself as the author(Juan Carballo)! It was so amazing to be able to chat, learn more about him and the story about many of the paintings! How cool and exciting is that?! Great great relaxed ambiance and wonderful art displayed. Will be back with pleasure!

It’s nice to see a gallery in San Diego that acquires the level of contemporary art that Scott White does. I hope these collections will help to change the perception of San Diego as a cultural wasteland!

I’m fully aware that this gallery is one of the most revered ones in SD, but I personally fail to be impressed each time I visit the exhibition space. I principally recommend it if you are specifically looking for a piece from one of these famous 20th century modern artists, i.e., Mondrian, De Kooning, Motherwell, Picasso, etc. Scott White has been specializing in art dealing of that caliber for the past twenty years and is definitely very well acquainted with quite a few seminal collectors.
